Description of Work: I have hired Ken on two different occasions. He shows up on time or calls is he is running behind and gives you the straight story at a fair and reasonable price. The first time I hired him was about ten years ago. One of his competitors told me at the time that I needed a new furnace. Ken has repaired the existing furnace a couple of times at a very fair and reasonable price and itis still working perfectly to this day. Ken is a good guy!

An inspection of the attic at my rental house revealed that a long past bathroom remodel had not been completed regarding the termination of the combined gas waste vent pipe coming off the hot H2O tank and furnace. The unfinished pipe was just dumping out into the attic about 15and quot; from the roof line. after contacting another Angie's list service provider who had replaced my furnace about 18 months earlier, I was referred to Ken at Stend-Air. We set up an appt for him to look at the job and give me a bid. He arrived early and was very quick and concise in evaluating the situation and providing me with what I thought was a very reasonable estimate. He was able to coordinate with his roofing assistant and work me into his schedule within a week. They arrived on time, prepared and completed the job w/o a hitch in the time they had estimated. The price with all materials and add'l labor included came in at the lower end of the range he had given me and after independently inspecting their work upon completion, the quality and workmanship was quite acceptable and a good value for the money and time invested in having it worked. This alone would earn a warm recommendation from me, but it is a follow up appointment that truly sold me on Ken's reputability and level of integrity in which he conducts his business. A short time later, I asked Ken to come to my primary residence, my home, and give me a bid and an idea of the complexity of some work I thought I would need to have done for a minor kitchen upgrade. I had anticipated needing a vent system installed to vent a new mounted microwave with fans and lights. Again, Ken arrived precisely at the appointed time and after surveying the situation, he explained to me that it would really not be necessary to have the work done, although he would be glad to do it if I really felt it was necessary. I saw the logic in his reasoning and realized he was absolutely right and that the installation would not only have been costly and unnecessary, but it would also have been aesthetically damaging to the existing beauty of the room. I sincerely thanked him for his generous advice and time and would strongly recommend Ken and his company Stend-Air Mechanical Services for any of your heating, venting, A/C and associated needs. I grade him and his work with an enthusiastic and quot;Aand quot;.

It went well. I would recommend Ken to others needing this type of service.

He worked with us to accommodate our needs, and the pricing was very reasonable. Also, on a prior service call, at our previous home, he ensured we had heat in January after another provider had shut it off during a weekend emergency service call in an attempt to get a bunch of money out of us for a new furnace that was not needed. He just had to swap out a part, which was relatively inexpensive. He has earned our trust, and we are very happy to recommend his company.
Description of Work: We have hired Ken more than once, for different services, and he is a very honest, trust-worthy, and reliable HVAC contractor. The last job we needed him for was to put in a central heating system in our 1959 home, which was a huge challenge due to the layout of the house, and the lack of any existing ducting to the 4 levels of it.

Very Well overall
Description of Work: I was informed that I had a crack in the heat exchanger of my furnace. Other companies went right in to giving me a quote for a new furnace. Ken at Stend-Air knew that his particular furnace had a warranty recall on them and he was able to get it swapped out for me, saving me about 1500 dollars.

I can't go under my house because I have an injury. So I let them go under and trusted them to do the work. He had to replace it completely with tin. I asked him if he could do that and he replaced it with tin so that animals wouldn't mess with it. He said it would take a couple of hours and it took about 2 hours. They came on time, they crawled under the house, and did the job. They took all the old insulation with them and packed it all up. I paid him on the spot and it went well. I'm pretty sure that they did good work but I haven't been able to look at it. They were very polite with everything. He quoted a price and stuck to it, I thought it would be a lot more money than that but he stuck with it.
Description of Work: He did the heater for me under the house.
