Sound Oil makes heating oil so easy. We had a service contract with them for years. They come out once a year and tune up the furnace- they are friendly, on time and neat. They were super responsive for any issues that popped up. They also monitored our oil levels, topped us off and kept an eye out for any issues. They are pros. Glad we found them (the previous home's owners had a contract with them, and we just carried it forward!), we lucked out! Highly recommend.

Technician and office staff were very friendly and were able to be flexible with my schedule.

We have used Sound Oil for many years they always do a great job. Most recently they serviced our furnace as part of our Furnace Maintenance Agreement in the work was done professionally. There was no charge for the service and I have peace of mind going into the colder months ahead.

They're really good.? They usually like to do service before the heating season, in October, and they usually do.? But for some reason our signals got crossed.?They have a service contract, so we have one of those with them, but they've been our oil supplier for ages.? They took over another fuel company.? Like I said, they usually try to do it before the heating season starts, but we didn't quite get it in on schedule, but it's close enough.?If you sign a contract with them, it's less than $200. It's a service contract that covers Spring and Summer maintenance, and then also some parts, and labor, so it's really a good deal.? There's tank insurance that's included in that.? If you have oil you definitely want to do that, because if your oil tank starts to leak, you're really in big trouble around here.? They're always responsive.? If you have a problem with your furnace, they will come out as soon as they can.? You know, if it doesn't come on or something weird happens, they're there for you.? For price, I don't think they have too much control over that any more, but I would say they're in the ball park with all the other oil companies.? It's just so hard to say on prices of oil, because if the supply goes down, then your price goes up if you're getting a delivery.? But if you're not getting a delivery, then overall if you average it out during the whole year, then I think they're reasonable.? They're really good, and friendly.? It's usually one guy for maintenance and he's usually the same person.? Once in a while it's a different person.? They get familiar with your furnace and then they measure your tank.? It's just one person and it? takes them about an hour because they do a thorough cleaning and maintenance.? They leave the area totally clean when they're done, just like it was.? What do they do really well?? Just keeping the furnace running optimally I guess, efficiently, and also if you're on auto-delivery, they have these formulas they use that's based on heating degree days, they look at the history of the house and how the temperature's running over a period of time, and they schedule that way.? We've never run out of oil, let me put it that way.? A lot of people call, but I just think auto-delivery's better.?

Best part is they are usually pretty quick about getting out and filling up the oil. Worst part is they had to come out 5 times to fix my furnace that had blown the conductor box on it. The guy they were sending came out time after time after time again, and he didn't know what he was doing. They are bound by barrel costs. They are bound to whatever a barrel of oil costs on the market at that time. Responsiveness they are good about that. I would use them in the future because I do not have a choice.

It's not an additional cost. It's part of the agreement. I think they are fairly competitive. One person came to do the service and it took him an hour and a half. He was very pleasant and professional. He cleaned the area very well. You wouldn't know they were there.

It was in the contract. There were no additional charges.

I have always had good service with them. If it ain't broke don't fix it.

I am Sound Oil 30 yrs customer. I have two rental property accounts under them. They are very professional and always take action to meet my need. Recently they installed a new furnace at my place. The price includes duct cleaning ,etc. The bid document is well prepared including all required items. The installation is on schedule and within the budget. Specially thanks to T Bill and Stefanie for their excellent service.

It went extremely well I was impressed with the speed and the very very high quality of service. The Engineers make sure to answer all questions and really do a great job of making sure everything is clean prior to leaving.

They are good and professional. Their price seem competitive. They’ve been great and fine.

I have a contract with them of $250 for a year and I pay nothing else the whole year for their visits. They are very nice and respecting. They do the job quickly and my furnace always work.

Sound Oil did a great job estimating the cost and challenges of the project. Our old furnace was in a very confined crawl space, so removing it and moving the new unit into position was difficult. However, the technicians were very resourceful and the entire installation proceeded as planned and within budget. The duct work was also performed as promised. Three cheers for Sound Oil !

I have a very old heating unit that's run by oil. I have to have somebody in for repairs about twice a year, and about the same amount to refill the oil. A couple times the technicians did not have the proper parts to fix the problem and we had to reschedule, meaning I was without heat for a couple extra days in the winter. However, they do make a good effort to get things worked out asap and are reliable and on time. Every technician who has serviced my heating system has been very professional and friendly, and gets right down to business. As for refilling the oil, this is very easily taken care of w/ a quick phone call, and I don't have to be around when they refill. They usually come the same day or day after I call. Overall, the company has been great and easy to work with.

Oil delivery came on time and furnace tuneup appointment went as planned. I am satisfied with their services.

Though oil pricing was generally lower, Sound Oil rolls in their "Tank Insurance" costs in to their account billing, so the overall price rises for oil.

Great service at house. Proficient service but not-so-friendly when dealing with accounting.

I'm quite grateful to Sound Oil as they came out within a day of my initial call to make sure that my heater was working. The sales manager took his time making sure I understood the introductory package and how their billing works. I'm not the biggest fan of having my oil tank filled automatically, because I don't use my heat very much so I'd rather be able to control when I want the expense of heating oil, but there is a HUGE measure of peace knowing that I'm not going to be really low on a day when it is freezing outside. They have a great package where you can choose between 4 "deals" if you sign up to be a customer with auto-delivery - and still no contract required. They estimate your usage through their computer and deliver oil when they determine that you need more. I suspect that this only occurs when your prior bill is paid off, because I didn't get a 2nd delivery until about a week after I paid off the first balance early. I feel bad for them, their estimates will be way off because I don't keep my heat up very high. I put a sweater on when I'm cold! Their new customer deals were not only better deals, but they "fit" more with what I wanted then the "deals" that were being offered by their competitor Rossoe (who it appears was the previous service and oil provider for my furnace). I believe the deals are (you get to choose 3 of the 4): 1) a certain amount of free oil on your first fill-up, 2) a free digital thermostat, 3) a year's service warranty on your furnace including a free tune-up, 4) additional tank replacement insurance (in addition to PLIA). Since I already had installed a digital thermostat, they rest were easy choices and I priced out what they would cost after the first "free" year and it is totally worth it in comparison with their competitor's prices. All in all, I've been very satisfied with the experience from Sound Oil.

Servicing session went well. The technician was professional and courteous. He gave great tips and future servicing advise that was appreciated. Heating oil pricing is no longer competitive, and the annual service contract is pricey. Gets very expensive when one factors-in the fact that the furnace isn't serviced annually (every few years) since it works efficiently, and I personally change out the furnace filter element yearly. Looking back on the total costs of the annual service contract makes it not a good choice regarding value and balances of costs when it's a requirement of delivery of the heating oil. Unless that changes, I can no longer recommend Sound Oil as a value choice for product and services.

Sound Oil took over our contract when they bought the company we'd had a contract with for many years. Today they filled our fuel tank and it seemed expensive. We had no experience with them, so we called to ask about the price. They were very helpful, agreed on a discount which they didn't have to do. The information that we were given made sense and the person took time to answer questions. We were very pleased.
