Shoreline mowers and saws

Shop website said they were open Saturday. I’m sitting in front of their closed store on Saturday July 6. Sign on the door says they are open Tuesday to Friday.

Horrible. They never followed through--for example they did not call back to give me an estimate. They don't answer their phone during the day because (they said) there are too many calls and it would take too much time. So I had to go back to the mower repair shop to get an estimate, days after they said they would have one, and they had no answer for me. They said they were too busy but that they could really do in this (3rd) week. So I gave them the benefit of the doubt and waited. No response. Again I had to go back to find out what's happening. At that point I asked them to call right then while I was there. They did, and then said they could find one but couldn't say when it would arrive...and that it could take many more weeks. At this time, it was 6. weeks since I cane in for an estimate with no end in sight. I ended up just leaving it there and walking away, eventually buying a a new one. This is the first time I used Angie's list and will likely not use it again now that I see the type of business this list recommends.

They fixed the problem of oil spillage in the engine. They did give me a heads up that they were 2 weeks behind in work as this is their busy season.

They sharpened the blade while I waited. I think it could have been more sharp but I was pleased overall.

They are really good. The staff is very nice. It took about 4 weeks to order a part I needed. Whenever they fix something for me, it is in better shape than I expected. I am really happy with the work they did. They also fixed a chipper shredder for me a year ago and did a good job.

Mower would not start. They replaced the entire wiring harness. I was very satisfied with the work they did. I was not able to fix it myself which is usually what I do. The price was very reasonable. They had the mower for 8 days which was reasonable for the time of the year. First day of spring. I will use them again.

For the first 2 times, I cut the grass it was better. Then the problem reoccurred, and it is worse than ever. I expected a solution for $111.

There were a number of negative reviews on another site for a repair shop closer to my home, so I looked on Angie's List and found Shoreline Mowers and Saws. They had only recently joined Angie's List, so there were no reviews at all, but I figured I'd rather take a chance with a new business than an established one with a poor reputation. Although the owner told me turnaround could take up to 2 weeks, he did it in 2 days. Not only does my trimmer now work perfectly, he even cleaned it up along with the tuneup. Price-wise it wasn't a great deal, but I thought his price was fair. And considering the fast turnaround and quality work, I'd definitely use him again.
