We used TreeCycle for the first time in May 2007 (check out that review also) for major work and had them back this spring for one more 35-40' tree removal. There was a tiny bit of scheduling weirdness, but very minor and easily chalked up to it being the "busy season". They came by as soon as they could to do the estimate (within a week of my first email) and scheduled the work in quick fashion due to some schedule conflicts on their end that would have left me waiting for several weeks to have my work done otherwise. The guys arrived promptly and went to work. Totally impressed my mother, who was here for a visit, as they had impressed me in 2007 with their work ethic and professionalism. Got the tree down, stump ground, roots ground, branches chipped, and even pruned some dead and broken branches off a neighboring tree that we were worried about for a very small additional charge. I said in May 2007 that I would "definitely have these guys back for maintenance in the future". I can tell you that these guys are my go-to guys anytime I need tree work in the future. They do a great job with a busy schedule and smallish staff. I appreciate their attitudes, knowledge, and honesty. I see an earlier comment blasted them for a scheduling issue... but understand that they are a small, local business and this is the busy season. They seem to be doing the best that they can with their available resources to make sure things are taken care of correctly and in a timely manner. This is totally my opinion and my impression based on my experiences with small businesses in general. I think in this digital age, it's easy for us consumers to get restless when we don't hear back right away when we contact small businesses with questions and requests. A little patience is totally worth it if you want to get on these guys' schedule. My experience was one of reasonable response times, courteous exchanges, and highly qualified individuals who clearly enjoy what they do.
Description of Work: Removal of large (35-40') sour cherry, grind stump, grind exposed roots. Once on the scene they also pruned some perilous looking broken branches off of a neighboring tree for a very small additional fee.

I contacted Tree Cycle by email to get a consultation for pruning a large conifer and advice about a sick cherry tree. Kelsey responded right away to say that Peter would either be out that day (a Friday) or early the next week. Mid-week came and no one had been by, so I emailed Tree Cycle asking for another date for the consultation. A full week went by and I finally get a response in a short email from Kelsey wondering if I "got her message" that Peter said I should call someone named "Mike the Pruner." No explanation. I had not received any such message from Tree Cycle, but I needed a certified arborist, if I needed a pruner I would have found my own "Mike." I wrote Tree Cycle back reminding them that in addition to pruning I needed advice about a sick tree, maybe something Mike couldn't help me with. A few days later I received an email saying that their other arborist might be back soon (there weren't sure) and that I should contact him directly! By this time I had wasted weeks. Tree Cycle simply should have informed me that they could not help me so I could find someone else. Terrible customer service. I used them in the past and they were wonderful, so I'm not sure what is going on with them but if your time is important to you, I would suggest you look elsewhere for tree help. I have.

Peter and his amazing crew just left and I couldn't wait to get on Angie's List to tell everyone how GREAT THIS COMPANY IS! All their work was done expertly, efficiently and safely. They were so precise and careful bringing down the trees, they didn't even damage the delicate dogwood growing under the firs that other companies said would certainly be killed. They left our yard completely free of debris, blew off the roof, they were on time (even early)and quick to finish the job. Our yard looks so great! You would never know 4 big firs had been there earlier this morning. The final price was exactly the estimated bid. Peter is polite, knowledgeable, and very skilled at what he does. I am so very pleased with Tree Cycle. They are our tree company for ever more.

Kelsey responded promptly to my email inquiry and Peter came out for an estimate within a few days. Peter struck me as totally professional and genuinely interested in the health of trees. I was not there when the work was done, but am totally pleased with the results. The trees are nicely pruned and they did a great job cleaning up. The bill was exactly what Peter had estimated. I look forward to having TreeCycle care for my trees in the future.

I e-mailed them for an estimate on Saturday, Peter did the estimate and Monday and the work completed on Wednesday. In all cases communication was excellent and all appointments were exactly on time. Although we did not seek additional estimates, the price seemed reasonable for the work done. They did and excellent job removing a tree and doing some trimming. Clean up afterwords was perfect. Will use Tree Cycle for all of our tree work in the future.

Couldn't have been better! Peter and his crew arrived at the appointed time, asked for my input before starting, worked fast, didn't seem to mind slogging through chest-high blackberries to get to a couple of the trees (sorry, guys!). They cleaned up after themselves, and added a few extras that were very much appreciated (like blowing my front yard clear of debris--just because they were there. The trees look great. The squirrels and woodpeckers are grateful for the snags. We're very happy with their service.

I cannot speak highly enough of them. They were extremely efficient and hard working, but very careful and neat every step of the way. The team of four turned up on time, worked hard the whole time, and completed the job in half the time I was expecting. Peter was great to communicate with, and very good at explaining how low they could bring the cedar hedge without killing it, and how best to trim our apple and pear trees for future fruiting/growth patterns. They grinded all trimmings on the spot, which will be donated to Seattle Parks. (All their practices are very earth friendly, including the fuel and chainsaw oils they use!) They used a leaf blower and rake to clean up every last bit of debris that hit the lawn. We will recommend them to friends and have them back for maintenance on a regular basis. Also, their bid was lower than the other one I received from a less qualified maintenance person (not a certified arborist, and was going to charge dumping and hauling fees b/c he didn?t have his own chipper). The only down side was that it took about three weeks between the bid and when they were able to fit us in (with Thanksgiving in there), but it was WELL worth the wait.
Description of Work: Wow, they have just finished up and they were spectacular! We had Tree Cycle take a thirty-foot long cedar hedge from about 16 feet to 7 feet; prune badly neglected pear and apple trees, trim/shape a very large bay laurel, and trim/prune a few other shrubs and trees in our front yard/curb strips.

The estimation process was delightful. The estimator was very helpful in giving us explicit identification of all the trees on our property -- while we were prioritizing the two cypress, we were hoping for their assistance on the entire property. The estimates were very reasonable for the size of the job. There was absolutely *zero* pressure to commit to a date when the estimate was presented. Additionally, he wrote an estimate for each tree individually and indicated we could choose to do any or all of the trees at once. The workers that arrived the day of the work were very friendly, courteous, on-time, and clearly very skilled in their craft. For as much trimming as was done, there was hardly any noise besides the small chainsaws, even when large branches were being removed from where they were touching the roof. They also helped reposition a cable television line crossing our property to prevent it from slackening into our backyard -- it had been propped up by some unhealthy branches that needed to be removed. The end result is beautiful -- two properly balanced, neatly trimmed, healthy-looking cypress and a large, rich pile of chip that we've already spread to good use. Highly recommended. I can guarantee we'll work with Tree Cycle again to keep our trees in top shape for as long as we're living here and helping keep Capitol Hill weird.
Description of Work: We had Tree Cycle trim, balance, and repair two very large Leyland cypress trees on our property. The landlord of the property next door had previously (and illegally) come onto our property and butchered these trees, and we needed Tree Cycle to fix his errors and perform general tree health procedures on these large old beauties. They did so with a minimum of fuss and noise, left our yard cleaner than how they found it, and gave us all of the chip to spread in our garden (at our request).

I emailed Tree Cycle on a Tuesday asking for a recommendation on a storm damaged tree in our backyard. The tree, approximately 80 feet tall, had lost a 50 foot branch the weekend before, and was suspended about 15 feet from the ground and into my neighbors yard. Peter arrived on Thursday and realized quickly that the tree was in bad condition, showing signs of rot and poor balance. Following his recommendation, we accepted his bid and agreed to take it down. He and his crew arrived the following Tuesday promptly at 8:30 and went to work. By 11 they had the stump ground, about 20 feet of the trunk bucked and rolled up for firewood, and the place blown clean. They took great care in my neighbors yards while clearing debris, and even trimmed up a plum tree out front at no extra charge. This is the second large job Peter and his team have done for us, and we remain completely satisfied with their work and wouldn't hesitate to call them again.

I knew our trees needed attention. They were very big, overgrown, they needed shaping and had lots of dead branches. We got one estimate for pruning and reshaping from a company that was going door to door, Evergreen. Their estimator was very knowledgeable, he said he was giving us a deal on the price, and we were ready to go with them, but then a little voice said, slow down and get two more estimates. After looking through tree services listed on Angie's List I called and made appointments for two more estimates. I can't believe how important it was to talk to three different arborists. The conversations helped me understand the work that needed to be done and find the right person to do the work. I also realized that the person doing the estimate should be part of the work crew. That's what made me decide to not use a large business whose estimator is not on site when the work is getting done. The day Peter from Tree Cycle came to look at our trees I walked him through the yard pointing out everything I thought needed to be done. He listened and we had a very good conversation. During our conversation he mentioned that he would be doing all the pruning. I didn't feel like I was stepping on his toes telling him what I thought. Peter gave me good feedback and then detailed the work he thought was needed in his estimate. The estimate included cutting and stacking in the yard all wood big enough to burn, and was significantly lower than Evergreen's estimate. Today Peter and his crew arrived when he said they would at 8:30am, revved up their chainsaws and the cutting began. They worked all morning in the backyard and improved the view through the trees. Peter went up into a large pine and brought down two large branches that had come down during last year's snow storm. He took one maple down and a lot of dead wood off some others. Peter seems like a happy person who really enjoys his work. He looked like he was enjoying himself up in the tall trees as he reshaped them. His crew kept up cutting down branches and cleaning up after him. Everyone had hard hats on and there were lots of shouts to watch for branches coming down. After lunch they were in the front yard clearing out the oak, pines, aspens, and dogwood. Finally Peter went up into the 40-foot maple. The chipper was running practically all day as his crew kept up with the cut branches. I looked out into the backyard thinking, this looks so much better. Then I noticed that some of the crew were raking up fallen leaves from the flower beds and the lawn! Now I was really happy. We have a lot of leaves to rake every fall and seeing them raked and hauled away was a pleasant surprise. Then they started clearing oak and maple leaves from the front yard and hauled it away for mulch. This is a bonus that Tree Cycle does for clients during the late fall, so both our yard and driveway were cleaned of all leaves and debris. Peter and his Tree Cycle crew are terrific. They were professional, arrived and were finished when they said they would be. Peter did a great job pruning our trees. They look so much better. Tree Cycle crew did a great job cleaning up the entire yard, and left everything they touched looking wonderful.
Description of Work: Our trees are all on the large size and needed to be heavily pruned and cleared of dead wood and branches. We have a 40 foot maple, 3 locust, one oak tree, 7 aspens, 5 pines, 4 dogwoods and lots of small maple trees. Everything needed to be pruned and reshaped. 7 backyard maple trees pruned back from over the backyard. About 6 young maple trees (less then 6 inches in diameter) were taken down. 3 locust trees were reshaped/pruned. One front yard oak tree pruned. Cleaned and pruned 5 pines, 6 aspens, 3 dogwoods and one 40 foot maple. Took down broken branches from a tall pine. All large branches and the one maple that came down were cut for firewood and neatly stacked in the yard. Chipper was on-site. All small branches and leaves were removed from yard. Driveway cleaned.

The project went very smoothly. They came promptly to give an estimate and their quote was very competitive. On the day of the job they arrived on time and worked quickly and thoroughly to take down the tree. It took them less than hour. The stump grinding took about half an hour. They then cleaned up after themselves, even cleaning our roof and back porch that had nothing to do with the job. It was a totally hassle-free experience. Only minor comment is that they don't seem to have a full-time receptionist on email or phone. I had to reschedule the job and that took longer than it should have to get a response (several days).

The service was the best we have had for any yard or landscaping work. I was not able to be there the day they came to do the work and they were careful not to over trim. I needed the trees pruned back more for view improvement for neighbors and they came out when I could be there and cut back exactly the way we needed. There was not a leaf not hauled away and the guys were very professional and friendly. I have spent over $100,000 on our yard and Tree Cycle is the best supplier we have used.

They arrived on Sept 24 as planned and immediately got to work. The crew of 4 did an amazing job of working quickly and in coordination so that the work seemed effortless. By mid day, the sequoia was history as were 2 of the dead trees. and the arborvitae. By the end of the afternoon, the double trunked fir had been cut to snag height and most of the overgrowth of blackberries and ivy was gone. It was amazing to see the rapid progress. At the end of day one, they not only had accomplished so much, they had cleaned up after themselves so the no branches or debris was left anywhere and the drive was cleaner than when they got here. On day 2 they finished thinning out some of the branches and cleaning up the overgrown berries and covering the understory in mulch. The trunks of the removed trees were ground down and the soil around them smoothed out. It was a beautiful job, well executed. The neighbors are thrilled with the results -- we are new owners and the previous owner had let the property go -- and happy to see the property looking so good. An extra bonus -- our Sequoia trunk was turned into a chair and bench which now occupy one of the lovely shaded groves created when all the undesirable undergrowth was removed!
Description of Work: They came out to thin out some fir trees, remove a couple of dead trees, remove a sequoia which was planted in a bad location and top a fir tree with a double trunk. They also needed to remove some dead Arborvitae at the back of the house. Additionally, they were to cut down and mulch over some English ivy and horribly overgrown Himalayan blackberries.

I was impressed that Tree Cycle had unanimously positive reports on Angie's List so I had Peter come out and do a bid. I met with him and he was very knowledgeable, obviously had a passion for his work, and seemed willing to go the extra mile to make sure I was a very satisfied customer. I got a bid and compared it to another similarly priced bid I got and decided to go with Tree Cycle. Work done today and I was very happy. Peter and I walked around my property and did some additional selective trimming to clean up some encroaching branches. Team was on time, professional, and courteous. Highly recommended.

It was a great experience, from the initial contact right through to completion. When they said they would be done by noon I scoffed. This was nearly an 80 foot tall tree! But come noon, the tree was gone, the area was clean, the stump was ground, and two additional trees had been trimmed. Peter was fantastic as was his whole crew. I took 100 pictrues, and it was quite a show. It is Tree Cycle for us in the future!

Tree Cycle was great. They were on time. They cleaned up after themselves. They worked really hard for six hours straight. I felt that they did a great job on the trees. They were fine with it and took it all on. I?d definitely recommend Tree Cycle to others as well.
