Tom and his Team did an awesome job. He had to coordinate with our fireplace insert installers to demolish and replace existing tile with new beautiful granite tile. Tom went above and beyond by going down to the Tile store with us and helping us select our granite mini-slabs used for the job. They actually had to remove 2 layers of old tiles and were very flexible as our requirements changed somewhat as we decided to go down to floor level, versus just replacing existing raised level of tiles. Tom's Team did a great job of removing the old tiles without damaging our hardwood floors. Beyond that, they volunteered to get some floor finish and actually finished the uncovered hardwood for us. We had thought we might need to bring in a wood worker for that work. We could not be happier with the finished job. We absolutely love our new fireplace insert and granite tiled surround and hearth. We would definitely use Seattle Tile again and will freely recommend them to our friends. The only "B" I gave was for price. They weren't the cheapest quote I got, but when all was said and done we definitely made the right choice. We believe the quality that we got was worth it.

I'm very happy with the design which Denee, (one of the owners along with husband Tom) helped me to develop. The craftsmanship is truly amazing, European talent. Renee and her design team all have an arts background and a great eye for color and design. I can't say enough good about them. They will not rush you to choose like other places I've been, and they have a wonderful selection.

We arrived at 10:15am and were greeted by a cheerful Sarabeth who remembered us from our last 2 bathroom remodels. We told her we needed floor tile and shower accent tiles. She remembered some of the tiles that we liked when we were in her store almost a year ago. She showed us a few floor tiles in a similar theme. We picked the one we liked best. We told her we wanted our bathroom to be and quot;Zenand quot; and she immediately provided us with great suggestions for shower accent tiles that fit our theme and color combo. Then we picked out grout. Finally, she showed us some samples of ideas for our vanity countertop -- they have samples in the store, but they don't sell the product, but we left knowing just what we were going to buy for our countertop so everything would match. We were in our car at 10:40am!
Description of Work: We've remodeled 2 bathrooms with Seattle Tile Company, and we've just used them again for our 3rd. For the first bathroom, we were on a tight budget, but quality conscious, and I traveled all over Seattle. Don't let their beautiful showroom convince you that they're too expensive. They are very reasonable and have superior quality tile. Their greatest asset is their staff. Sarabeth helped us with each bathroom and I highly recommend her customer service and expertise. I tend to know what I like once I see it -- I might have a vague vision of what I want my bathrooms to look like but need help matching colors/themes/styles. Sarabeth and others gave us great ideas. This last trip, we had our bathroom designed with tiles and grout picked out in about 20 minutes! They don't do the countertops for vanities just yet, but they have samples of vanity countertops to help you pick tile for your shower and floor -- genius! We LOVE Seattle Tile. We have one bathroom left...we'll be sorry not to see them once it's done!

The folks at Seattle Tile (Lake Webb in particular) were fun to work with. They are not only very knowledgeable regarding tiles and any aspect of the installation but also provided free design help during our visits. Lake drew up several different tile layouts for our hearth and for the bathtub surround, and we ended up incorporating almost all of his suggestions and are extremely happy with the end results.
Description of Work: showed various types of options for tiles for our bathtub surround, vanity back-splash, and living room fireplace hearth; drew up dimensional sketches to help visualize design proposals; let us check out various samples to try them in our home; determined needed amount of tiles and grout, processed orders, tiles ended up being available ahead of schedule

We recently purchased a beautiful older house. The kitchen was newly remodled, but they left an old and somewhat damaged wood parque floor and we decided to replace it with tile before we moved in. Based on favorable reviews on Angie's list, we decided to check out Seattle Tile. We also wanted a place that could handle both our selection/purchase of tile and our installation project. The folks at the store were very helpful in making recommendations and assisting us with our selection of tile, which took a couple of trips in. While we were in the showroom, we met with Tom (the installation guy) and scheduled an appointment for him to come out to the house the next day. He spent about half an hour at our house taking measurements, asking questions and giving suggestions, and emailed us a bid the following day. We were very impressed by Tom's knowledge and enthusiasm/passion for what he did. We didn't have a heating source in the kitchen and on his recommendation we decided to add radiant floor heating to the project, and Tom work with us to find a way to make that happen within our budget. They were pretty busy, so it was about 2 1/2 weeks from when we hired them before they could start the work, but it was well worth the wait. The installation was very professionally done and the tile looks teriffic. There ended up being more work involved than they had anticipated and accounted for in their bid, but we weren't charged any overage. One other thing that really impressed me was Tom's patience and willingness to share his knowledge and recommendations. They were very responsive to our questions and made sure they got our input on all key design decisions (e.g., transitions to hardwood flooring, spacing, how the tile would be placed, etc.). It was a great experience, and I would highly recommend them.
Description of Work: Installation of porcelain tile in kitchen (including removal of existing wood floor and particle board), and installation of radiant heating pads under new tile floor. They also performed touch-up and repair work on existing tile backsplash. We purchased the tile through Seattle Tile.

Sarabeth was so helpful with assisting me with designing my bathroom remodel. I drove all over Seattle looking for the best prices. Seattle Tile has great prices but also excellent customer service and lots of options. I'd never go to a place like Home Depot or Lowes ever again. In the end (and I priced compared), you don't save much with those places and you have limited options and not nearly as much hands on assistance. The Seattle Tile store on 15th is very nice too.
Description of Work: I purchased tile, grout (shower wall and floor), and bathroom accessories and accent (glass tile) and also received assistance with how to design my bathroom and with what colors of tile and type of tile would work best. She helped me with quantities, trim tiles, grout color suggestions...

It was a relatively small job but Tom Foti came over to estimate and set expectations. I think it is always a good sign when the first person you encounter with a new company takes off his shoes at the entry way. Tom wanted to know in advance any and all Condo rules for working in the building so they would be careful to comply. We set a date but then I had to move it out an additional week and there were no complaints. They just wanted to do the job right and for me to be pleased. Mike, who did the actual tiling work, was meticulous. On one 18 food section, there was a 1/2 inch change in the width of the sill. Mike's cutting of the tile was perfect. It is not discernable. I am very pleased with the work and would recommend them to anyone. I would use them again in a heart beat.

We went to look at some tile there. It's a commercial open to the public tile store there and the company that did the kitchen floor tile for us purchased the tile from them. We had been to several tile stores trying to pick out a floor tile. I don't remember the cost because it was part of the total package. They had a good selection. We had gone to several tile stores and it was just a matter of trying to find a tile that we liked the look of. It was just the matter of taste in terms of the fact that they happened to have a tile that we liked the looks of. It wasn't like when you go to buy a shirt or a piece of clothing or something. They were fine for a retail store. We didn't have to draw upon any expertise or service from them other than the fact that they had a showroom where we were able to pick out a tile that we liked. Our experience was average. They had a showroom and they had a lot of tile to look at and we found a tile that we liked. There wasn't anything especially challenging for them or for us. There was a wide range of tile and it was not like we found two places having the same tile. We just happened to find a tile that was within the range of what we were looking for.

Shower in my downstairs bathroom needed to be repaired so I called Tom of Seattle Tile to give me an estimate to replace the tile in my downstairs bathroom shower. The shower had been installed by a previous owner, it was obviously a very amateur job and Tom suggested a full replacement. Tom sent me a quote via e-mail within 2 days which was not the case with all I contacted 5 different companies and only received 2 formal bids. He also said that they had time to do my work before the holidays. I am very happy that Tom and Seattle Tile were the ones who did this work they were EXCELLENT! They demo d the old tile, retrofitted the entire shower area for water proofing(this wasn t done before)refurbished/refinished the seating area in the shower and installed new tile. Even with the snow storm over the holidays, they were punctual and showed up when they said they would, and if they couldn t make it because of the weather, I received a call. They asked the right questions and did a wonderful job. Bottom line is that if all contractors worked like Tom s crew and Seattle Tile we would all be spoiled.

Fantastic! The bath and kitchen look great, thanks to Suzanne, their ace designer. She patiently helped me pick out tiles for the kitchen walls and floors (Italian tiles that took months to arrive from Italy and get through customs) for the bathroom floors, the tub surround, the shower walls, and even extras like the soap holders in the shower. She was wonderful! One day, when they were helping me load out some tile, they dropped the box, and immediately got more to replace what had broken, all before I even realized they'd dropped the box (I was out at the car with another box.) Seattle tile was great to work with.

Overall, Denee helped me every step of the process, from choosing the color scheme to expediting my second order which arrived on schedule and did not hold up my kitchen remodel. She always remembered my name and job and made the process seem easy even with the disappointing quality of the first batch of these hand-made tiles.
Description of Work: Driving by I saw their showroom, stopped in and saw a perfect tile for our kitchen remodel backsplash. I worked with Denee whom helped me choose the correct color of the tile and grout and caulk, she has a great eye for this detail. When my order for the hand-made tile arrived, I found many that I was unhappy with due to various problems. Denee got the tile company's rep in to look at my order, who offered to pay for a few new replacement tiles, but then Denee offered to sell me further tiles at a discount as she knew I was surprised that the rep didn't offer to replace more. This was a generous offer from Seattle Tile that I didn't expect as I felt the tile company had failed me not Seattle Tile. I placed a second order and was very happy that they arrived expedited, which Denee requested from the manufacturer, and they were all acceptable and good tiles. Quite a contrast from the original order.

This was not a remodeling job for the faint of heart. I only have one bathroom, and it needed to be completed in a minimum amount of time. Tom took charge, and assigned one of his great team (Alex) to do the work. Alex showed up on time, every time. He was unobtrusive, hard working and very skilled. This is a company that takes pride in it's craft and customer service. Their commitment to quality shined through at each step of the job.
Description of Work: Tom provided the work/materials estimate and oversaw the tile work on a bathroom surround. The work involved pulling down the existing three walls around the tub/shower, removing the wooden frame around the window, installing new drywall and waterproofing around window, and installing the tile and mosaic tile trim. In addition to the tear-down and tiling, Tom and his team coordinated efforts with my plumbers at each step of the way. The house, built in 1954 still had iron pipes - and Tom and the Plumbing company took advantage of the open walls to install new copper piping. Tom also worked out the finish details so the plumbing company could install the shower fixtures and trim.
