I got a phone call in the morning confirming that they were on the way. They showed up as expected and were clean, professional, courteous and pleasant. I showed them around the house to see what they would be packing. I expressed concern over a 260 year old antique linen press that had been moved several times before and no matter what warnings I gave previous movers, they still managed to damage it. My request was taken seriously and they treated all my anitques with great care and consideration and no damage was done. :) Despite several surprises I threw at them with extra furniture that I had forgotten about, they never complained and assured me that it was ok. It took two trips to complete the job due to my miscalculations and yet they were as considerated and patient as could be. At one point, about 7 hours into the move when we were all exhausted and about at our breaking points, I started to let some f bombs fly. I looked at the hardworking guys and joked, "Why is it that you guys are doing all the work and I'm the only one swearing?!" Seriously, I was pleasantly surprised that I never heard them swear or say anything at all negative or complain or whine. I had an especially large, heavy armoire that had to go up a narrow flight of stairs with almost zero clearance. I was horrified and concerned for their backs. I told them not to bother, furniture can be moved elsewhere or replaced; backs can not. I was told that they would try three times before giving up. Second try they did it and without any harm to the walls or low ceiling. I told them that when the call came in for us to move out I was betting on none of them taking the job! This was my second move with Mountain Movers and the first move was just as impressive. I have had horrible experiences with movers in the past and this company is wonderful to work with. I wouldn't consider any other company in Seattle to move our things. I paid what I was originally told I would pay - NO SURPRISES OR SNEAKY CHARGES. Another thing that I feel is important to mention is that I was a woman alone during the move. At no point during the moving process did I ever feel uncomfortable or unsafe. I actually had as much fun as one could have moving all day long back and forth because they were so nice and professional. The owner was also extrememly courteous and professional when we spoke on the phone to arrange the move. Mountain Movers is a reliable, trustworthy company that I would recommend without hesitation. I would suggest calling rather than emailing a request.

Excellent job overall based on time, cost and quality.
Description of Work: Martin & Travis arrived exactly as scheduled to move furniture from my 2 story house to a community townhouse with no problems. They were very courteous and assisted in some unplanned furniture unassembly and reassembly. The estimate of cost was right on target.

Seattle Movers (aka Mountain Movers) was the most responsive to my requests for movers. I was trying to contact movers on a weekend for a short notice move the upcoming tuesday. Their price was nothing special but they wanted the job and it was clear they could perform, based on the phone conversations I had and reviews here on Angie's List. The move went great without anything broken or damaged and they worked very fast. We were trying to limit our move to 6 hours and they got it done. The only downside, and I really can't complain about it, was that there could have been better organization to where things were put. They were moving quickly so things were really piled up. Not a big deal though, because we were more concerned with limiting the time and getting everything in the house rather than having them put boxes in the correct places. This was a great experience and I would use them again.
Description of Work: Seattle Movers arrived on time with 3 strong workers and a large truck. They loaded our furniture, boxes (already packed), and large items into the truck from our 3-story townhouse with 3 bedrooms. The load was driven from from one end of Seattle to the other, and unloaded in a 2-story house. Items were placed quickly with attempts at placing in the correct room.

Seattle Movers was very prompt with the estimate and was very professional throughout the entire process. They showed up on time for each of our two moves and completed each move in good time as estimated. Our move was complicated by the fact that we were emptying the house into two separate locations on two separate days, but they dealt admirably with the issues and everything ended up where it should go. They were very nice and pleasant to deal with and I would definitely recommend them and hire them again.
Description of Work: We were moving out of a house and into an apartment and another house in two moves. They came on two separate days to move to the two new locations. We had done all the packing so they just did the moving.

Of the four moving companies I contacted the same day Seattle Movers was the only one who responded the next day. Got an estimate at $150/hr which seemed a bit high -- even though I didn't need a truck, I was paying for it. Kirk was very polite and answered all my questions, but I decided to use a different company that was less expensive.
Description of Work: We were doing a remodel to replace carpets with hardwood floors. We needed to move the furniture from two rooms off the carpet into the garage and then move it back after the work was done. The furniture includes a baby grand piano, four chairs, a sofa, three glass tables, a fountain/sculpture, and some miscellaneous items.

I had a varied experience with Mountain Movers. First let me list what went right: 1. I was packed quickly and efficiently, with wonderful care given to my fragile items. 2. The move itself took much less time than expected. We even avoided a heavy rain because of it. 4. Because the guys were so speedy, both the packing and the moving came in under the quoted price. 5. The men were professional but also personable. Steve in particular went above and beyond to make sure that both my household goods, and myself, were happy. 6. The overall price, for both the packing and the moving, was very reasonable. Now the not so good: 1. Packers - The only issue I had with the packers was that they missed several items such as things stored around a table, a drawer in the kitchen, and an entire closet. Otherwise they were great. 2. Movers - One of the movers spoiled the entire moving day experience. While the others were very careful and efficient, this guy dropped two loads of four boxes each off of his hand cart (one batch was while he was on the ramp), and some of the boxes were clearly marked, ?Fragile.? He also knew I saw him do this but offered no apology nor did he show any remorse. He also dropped two phones he was hand carrying. Again, no apology. Additionally, since the wardrobes had to be immediately unpacked on site and returned, he created two issues: The first was overloading a closet rod until the middle support was pulling out of the wall. He finally said something but did not remove any of the clothing to take the load off. Secondly, he literally dumped items into a closet that contained the gas hot water heater and didn?t say anything about space or other issues. The dumping was bad enough, but he also placed flammable items right next to the hot water heater. 3. They were at least 15 minutes late both days. At least on the second day they called to let me know where they were. 4. An eight inch long chunk of woodworking was broken off and left behind on the porch. 5. A minor thing? The wardrobes had to be immediately unpacked so they could be returned on the truck. I was not informed of this in advance which led to some scrambling on moving day. With every other move I?ve been through I?ve had the wardrobes stay with me, so it was a bit confusing. I sent an email to Kirk, the owner of Mountain Movers, over a week ago outlining my issues and I have not heard back from him. So overall, yes I was packed and moved efficiently and professionally at an excellent price by some very nice guys who primarily did a great job. It is unfortunate that one bad apple, some missed items, and the lack of follow-through spoiled what could have been a great experience.

Service was excellent!! I was not available to be there for the packers, but my mother was there and she said it was wonderful. They packed meticulously and nothing (as far as we can tell) broke during the move. A few of the boxes were not labeled. I had a snag come up and had to move my service from Saturday to Tuesday and the manager was very nice about the last minute change. The movers (3 guys) arrived a little early on Tuesday and worked very hard all day. They only took one break to eat but only stopped long enough to cram food and drink some water. They took everything and were very careful not to hit walls or damage any of my things. They broke down some of the furniture, but I had most of it taken apart before they arrived. They kept all of the hardware together so we didn't have to search for it when we got to the new house. They even helped get screws out of walls that I was having trouble with. The guys also helped put together a bed they didn't take apart (something they typically won't do) but my mother and I almost killed ourselves taking it apart, so they helped us put it back together. The guys were fantastic and made the move almost fun! My husband is currently in Iraq, so I needed help moving and it was definitely worth more than I paid. Also, I was quoted $1500 for the pack and $1500 for the move but it only ended up being $1400 to pack and $1100 to move.
Description of Work: Packers came to box up all of my things on the Thursday before the move. My home is approx 2200 sqft. The movers came on the next Tuesday to move everything out of the home I was renting to a 2600 sqft home I purchased a few miles up the road. They were originally scheduled for Saturday, but I had a snag and had to reschedule Friday evening. They moved 4 bedrooms, an office, living room, washer and dryer, and many other things.

They arrived about 30 minutes after the scheduled start time, but that wasn't an issue for us. They were friendly and professional and worked steadily over several hours to get the job done. I felt like they knew what they were doing, were careful with our belongings, and very efficient. Our downtown condo building has a lot of rules about moving, and they worked within those boundaries. Overall I was extremely happy and would use them again in a heartbeat, and recommend them to friends, family and colleagues. Working with such a great company took a lot of the stress out of our move. Well done.

Crew arrived about an hour late. Started using handtrucks to move boxes on hardwood floors until told to stop as they were damaging the floors. Were quite rough with our furniture and on our new house. Scratched many of our items and seemed to have a don't care sort of attitude about our move. We have used Mountain several times in the past but it is doubtful that we will recommend them or use them again in the future.

Kenyada and a helper came the day before our move to pack our kitchen and china cabinet. Unfortunately, the were to arrive at 10AM and by 10:15, no call and no packers. I called Kenyada and he let me know he had an issue with one of his trucks, but would be coming soon in about 20 minutes. They arrived at the house around 11:20. I wasn't overly impressed with the punctuality or the lack of a call. Once they arrived, they packed the kitchen and china cabinet efficiently. The next day they arrived for the move, on time, and called to let me know they were en route. They packed everything very quickly, which was great. They really tried hard to ensure that we could do the job with one load, instead of two, which would have cost us more. We had just painted our new house and the crew took great care to avoid dings or scratches on the walls. We had one casualty during the move, a picture was dropped and the glass cracked, but they provided compensation on the spot. In the end the total came out much less than what Kenyada had quoted and we were quite satisfied. I'd use them again.

We were moving into a new home and I was freaking out about my new hardwood floors. They were AWESOME. 2 guys unloaded the trucks and moved stuff as far as the front door where 2 more guys with clean shoes took the items and moved them where ever I wanted. They even held every furniture item up for me to inspect to see if it had its felt feet in place before placing it on the new floors. We got a little bit of a late start on moving day, but they still got it all loaded and moved and placed in a timely fashion. We ended up spending a bit more than we had planned but that was due to me having them take the time to place everything where I really wanted it to end up in the new house. They dis-assembled and re-assembled all the bed frames and other antique furniture pieces that had attached mirrors. I had collected a lot of packing materials (boxes and paper) off Craig's list and they were careful to use mine before they started using theirs that they were charging for. All the guys were pleasant and polite and very responsive to any requests I made. They handled my stuff with care. I had lots of paintings and odd-shaped stuff that I hadn?t figured out how to move and they secured it in the truck safely. We had to change our move date and they worked with us to make sure it still came off without a hitch.
Description of Work: Kenyada and his crew spent 2 days with us...one day to pack up and stage for loading what I hadn't packed yet (I did my art glass and some easy stuff) and one day to move us to our new home. This was a 2-truck (medium sized) move. The packing day was hard labor because we lived in a 3-story home. By day's end everything was packed and moved to the lower level for loading the next day. One guy even helped disassemble our office furniture that day and re-assemble it the next day.

Third time I've used Mountain Movers and they have been great each time. This time Joe and my apologies for forgetting the other young man's name were prompt, pleasant and very careful when moving items both in and out. Great care was taken by them when moving two antique doors out as well as heavy bookcases, area rugs and chairs and so on.

I requested quotes from three different movers to complete the move. I chose Mountain Movers because of a competitive price point, availability on the date of move and high Angie's list recommendation. They quoted two men and one truck but arrived with three men and one truck. Though the per hour charge was raised by 1/3 to cover the third man, the total estimated move time was reduced my 1/3 such that they billed us almost to the dollar their estimate. They crew was professional, gracious and efficient. It went off without a hitch.

Company coordinator Kenada promised he'd find a crew to move us, even if it meant several crews coming between other jobs or after they finished. Even better, a full crew of four with two trucks came. As promised, they had all the right equipment for an efficient and careful move. This means they had a ramp that could bypass the stairs so they could roll the dolly right into the side of the truck, in addition to blankets for carefully packing the heirloom furniture I was so concerned for. The crew was relentlessly cheerful and positive, warning me when concerns came up, such as a fragile old dresser needing careful handling. After unloading everything at the new house, crew leader Kirk asked me to look around and make sure every box or item was exactly where I wanted it, and offered to move up or down stairs anything that wasn't exactly right. WOW!
Description of Work: When another moving company did not show up, Mountain Movers was willing to come on very short notice and work late to make my move happen. They brought two trucks and four guys. Entire crew was very attentive to packing carefully and working fast while still avoiding nicking doorways. Very pleasant crew!

This was the second time I used Mountain Movers. They did my initial move from Bellevue to Renton, and everything went very well. One item was left on the truck by mistake (we were all tired at the end of a long day) but it was delivered back to me promptly. When my house sold much quicker than anticipated, while I was out of town on business, and I had a very short window (2 days) to remove my remaining property when I got back, they were ready to help. It was part of the same crew that had moved me the first time, which was nice, given that I was pretty stressed. They were very nice about helping position furniture, etc. And Kenyada Winston is very good at staying in communication. I would recommend them highly.

Great. The guys were on-time, quick, courteous and professional. Nothing was damaged. We had a fairly complicated set-up since we had them stop by apartment #1 first, load up furniture, then go to apartment #2 (on the 4th floor with no elevator) before moving everything up to Shoreline. They were very efficient, and it took them less time than they estimated. Final cost came in $225 less than estimate.

We were not as pleased with them as their reputation on Angie?s list. They estimated the cost of moving quite a bit. They took care of everything and nothing was broken. The people who came were great and young. They did a great job packing. They were friendly and polite. They were very helpful. Compared to the other companies I tried, their estimate was low. However, the price we had to pay by the end of the work was almost the same as others.
Description of Work: We used Mountain Movers in April to move to our new house. They first came and gave an estimate. Then they came and finished packing my kitchen and cabinet. That took a whole day. They had underestimated the space needed in the truck. They had to get another truck. Then they packed a piano which took some time. They moved everything else quickly. Some things were not put in place because they were very tired after a long day. We had couple of furniture which we could not fit into the new house. They gave us some blankets to wrap them up.

See above They did not give me the 5% discount which was advertised with Angie's List.
Description of Work: We packed most everything ahead, and made 4 trips from Bellevue to Everett the day before with the REALLY fragile stuff, but the 4 men from Mtn. Movers did a splendid job hauling the big, heavy stuff plus the lion's share of the boxes. They arrived on time with 2 trucks, took great care when lifting, carrying, loading and unloading. Not one thing was scratched, dented or broken. Very impressive. The only negatives were the extra time charge and that not all things were able to be transported due to lack of space in the trucks. We had to make numerous trips on our own throughout the following week as time would allow. Luckily, the house was not to be occupied until July 11th, so we had the opportunity to move the remaining items ourselves so we could do a thorough cleaning.

Fantastic. The guys were wonderful - friendly, careful, quick, efficient.
Description of Work: Moved out of a house and into a smaller house (same city). Driveway to move-out house is very narrow and the truck could not be backed up the drive. The movers were not fazed and had no problem moving items down the driveway to the truck. The move-out house also has a large set of stairs but the movers didn't have any problems bringing down furniture, were very careful and no damage was done to walls, etc. The move-in house is very small but the movers were again very careful and got everything in no-problem, no damage. They were right on time for pick-up and even beat me to the new house - they were there waiting, ready to unload.

The manager/owner was very responsive to my questions and replied quickly to emails. The movers were very punctual and professional. They quickly and carefully moved everything into their truck while providing us with advice on additional wrapping for more fragile items or which things should go into our car to avoid damage....we had our empty cars available for that reason. They were friendly and efficient and placed each item exactly where we directed them to. They were very reasonably priced for the distance travelled and services performed. We went over the estimate only in the extra time we took having them move more things around inside the house. I would definitely use them again! Very trustworthy.
