everything went as planned, however some boxes wound up in the storage locker that were marked for the apartment.
Description of Work: The performance was fine, except for one individual, who was worse than useless and must have been hired because he was a minority person.

On the phone Seattle Movers sounded professional and experienced with good knowledge of what was needed. On time, knew what they were doing. Moved some tricky items quickly and without incident.
Description of Work: They moved a 50 inch plasma flat screen TV, two tall bookcases, TV table, leather loveseat and chair from a house with stairs to an apartment about three miles away.

Everything went smoothly. They were on time, professional, didn't waste time, either. This is the third time I've used this company, based on reviews I found here on Angie's list. Highly recommended!!

Plenty of moving companies are available to transport household goods across the country, and quite a few are available to transport household goods across town -- but finding a moving company to do a one-way move to a place that's three counties away is not quite as easy. Seattle Movers was willing, able and equipped to do this type of a move. They were able to schedule the move on a specific day of my choosing. They provided a truck that seemed appropriately sized for the quantity of boxes and furniture we had described to them. The truck and all the equipment in it was noticeably well-maintained. Sales representative Martin Cook communicated clearly about the price estimate and other aspects of the move. I felt that the price of $2300 (which included a $60 discount) was pretty steep for the (relatively small) amount of stuff we were moving. However, in view of the time on the road, the gas costs and ferry fees, the fact that Seattle Movers provided three crew members (not just two), and the fact that the truck had to return empty from a remote location, I felt, in the end, that the price I had paid was fair (not cheap -- but fair). I would recommend this company for this type of a medium-distance move. I would also recommend their packing services, which we used the previous year, when we put our things into storage.
Description of Work: Seattle Movers, whose services I had used previously, picked up household goods from a mini-storage facility east of Lake Washington and transported them to our new home in Clallam County (Olympic Peninsula). As usual, they were prompt, careful and courteous. Most of the items were already in boxes, and the 3-person crew got them loaded, with care, in an amazingly short time. They did a similarly speedy job at the other end, including dealing cheerfully and effectively with one item that was particularly heavy and unwieldy. The crew did well with unfamiliar ferry schedules and route-finding on the rather complicated 78-mile trip.

The job went well. The movers (2 guys) arrived promptly at the time provided. They worked hard the whole time both loading and unloading. I provided information about the move in an online form and received an estimate. I paid by the hour for a truck and 2 men. The estimate was mainly to estimate the number of hours I was likely to need. It worked too. They were within 15 minutes of the estimated time. No damage to any of my items. Overall, I was very pleased with the job!

These guys are by far the best. I have moved 6 times in the last 6 years a these guys were the fastest, friendliest, and best. The moving crew of Leland, Adam, and Victor are awesome. They waste no time and are very fast paced and they maintain that pace to the end. They finished the job early and they are some really hard working and nice people.I have used some many other moving companies and it has always been slow and stressful. I knew I did not have to worry with these guys and that to me is worth any price. Best of all, they finished early and it cost less than any other move I have had with other companies. Highly recommended.

Don't use this mover if you value your furniture! They caused major damage to several of our pieces. They placed a scooter on top of a $1200 buffet and ruined the leg. They took a major chip out of the wood on a $1000 dresser. They destroyed the shelf built into a desk. These guys will take apart any piece of furniture they can get their hands on. Worse, they fail to attach the screws/bolts/other hardware to the pieces. For instance, they took the legs off of my dining room table and lost (threw out?) the bolts. We had to comb the hardware stores before we could re-build it. They took a bookshelf apart until all that was left were pieces of wood. Then they lost (threw out?) the screws. As luck would have it, we moved this exact same household a few months earlier with the exact size rental truck from the same rental company. That truck was professionally loaded and everything fit fine, without taking any furniture apart. With the Seattle Movers, they claimed to have to disassemble furniture for it all to fit. When I said that it all fit a few months ago, Kirk (the owner!) said, "I don't believe you." Kirk told me his aim is perfection. Nonetheless he failed to address my concerns about the disassembled furniture and basically called me a liar. At the end of the move, there were still a few items not on the truck (vacuum cleaner, broom, glass shelf). I asked Kirk to make them fit and he refused. He stormed off without finishing the job! (A friend and I did fit the remaining items on the truck and figure out how to close the truck gate.) I was uncomfortable dealing with a difficult and unresponsive mover and stunned to learn he owned the company. However, the greater problem is that I now have three pieces of furniture that are ruined.

Response from Seattle Movers Inc
The client contracted Seattle Movers to pack a 3rd party moving truck for a cross country move. We arrived at approximately 9:00 am. Upon our arrival we did a walk thru of the client’s home and the client then positioned the truck for loading. The client stated her concerns about her furniture and that she wanted the wood and leather furniture shrink wrapped. The client also was concerned about the hardware and I reassured her that I would tape all hardware to the piece it originated from. We complied by shrink wrapping the leather furniture and all wood furniture including the dressers and buffet. We came prepared with shrink wrap and tape. The client is responsible to provide the truck and all packing and securing materials. We were provided 48 (48x60) medium sized moving pads and no ropes or straps or bungee cords. On a typical local move we regularly use over 75-90 full sized (72x80) moving pads and 10-20 straps to secure the load. I suggested that she run to the hardware store to procure some for us and the client refused. She was unsatisfied and told us to pack the truck without any rope. I suggested she reconsider not to secure the load and she just walked off. My helper and I loaded the truck with a great deal of care and efficiency considering that we had no materials to secure the load. I have 14 years experience, have been doing this along time, and know how to move efficiently. We shrink wrapped everything and then some and also used the entire 48 pads the client provided and 2 of our own. When we were running out of room on the truck I voiced my concern that it might not fit. The client’s roommate suggested that we should take apart an IKEA bookcase and possibly the particle board desk. We ended up removing the leg off the dining room, dissembling the bookcase and breaking down the bead frames and taping the bolts to each piece. I did not throw out any hardware. When we loaded the buffet on the very back of the truck with no room to spare I said there is no more room. The client then went on the say that it was the exact same truck and the other movers made it fit with room to spare. She also called me incompetent and I obviously did not know what I was doing. At this point the truck is fully loaded with the exception of a bicycle, moped, cat tree and vacuum cleaner which the cleaners were currently using. The client demanded that I “make it fit”. I complied. I took off the pedals on the bike because that causes the most damage to other furniture around it and made the bike, cat tree, and moped fit with no straps or ropes to secure them in place. The client’s roommate was very pleased with the load and that we made it fit. I told him they should secure the moped better as it was just placed upon the buffet. When I went inside to tell the client that I “made it fit” she pointed out one piece of glass that admittedly I did forget and the vacuum cleaner which the cleaners were still using. I told her there was no room and I suggested that it would be better off in the cab considering we were out of pads and no room. The client got really upset and asked if I was a contractor. I informed her we do not use contractors or day laborers and in fact I was the owner. The client paid the bill which was $598.75 not $800. I have received no correspondence via emails or phone calls regarding this move from the client. I have no proof of any damage whatsoever. We did not drive the truck or unload it. When the truck was fully loaded everything was in fine order. With every move, you strive for 100% satisfaction. Unfortunately, it did not happen with this move, and that there is a learning lesson with this. We value our Angie’s List clients and at Seattle Movers we take care of our clients and if we damage sometime we fix it if it was our mistake as many of Angie’s List members can attest to. I warned the client about the pitfalls of not securing the load and she seemed unwilling or could not be bothered to provide us with securing materials. I reluctantly loaded the moped and bike on top of the buffet at the client’s roommate insistence. I feel we have no liability in the damage that occurred which I warned them about.

We were very happy with Seattle Movers. They were on time, efficient, and there was no damage. Almost all items were relocated into the new house where we wanted them to be placed. We did not have them move the piano, rather we called A-1 for that, but everything else such as heavy garage items, large boxes and dressers were packed into their truck compactly, securely and were well padded. There was one problem not exactly the company's fault. I had to call Martin and reschedule our move on very short notice. I don't know how many moving crews they have scheduled and who they might have "on call" for changes like this. Martin had told me that all movers are employees of the company. Upon arriving at the new house, one of the movers, a young guy whose name we do not remember now, noticed that we had a very light-weight bicycle frame among our items. He commented on it to my husband. We told him it was, in fact, for sale if he was truly interested which he was. A verbal price was agreed upon, and because of the stress of moving in the moment, my husband allowed him to take the bike frame with a promise to send a check. As you may guess, no check. I called Martin about ten days later and he was going to check on this but I didn't hear back. I called him a second time and learned that the employee had in fact been terminated. It was a stupid arrangement for us to enter into, but because we knew where he worked, we let it happen. I include this comment here after the fact as it causes me to wonder if movers are screened prior to hiring, especially if they are subject to criminal background checks. This service is available to employers by WA State Patrol. If you think about it, movers see almost all of your possessions and know where you live; they come into your house and have the opportunity to notice things like security, windows, access, etc. I do not know why the employee was terminated, but it is only that I mention this so you can ask the moving company this question. If they don't do these checks, they should. Next time, it would be a strong criteria for me to know the answer. Otherwise, Martin, who was our contact, was a gem to work with and provided us with good advice on packing; their estimate for time was right on and their price was exactly the same as other movers. FYI: This is a regulated industry so all movers charge the same hourly rate, usually quoted as a flat fee for three people per hour. They honored our angie's list coupon. We would definitely use this company again and don't want this one incident to tarnish their stellar reputation; we would definitely recommend them.

The moved cost me $185 and that included the tip! Mike and Chris were great. Got there. Did the paperwork. Were very careful with my antique bureau. Did not dilly dally. Took an hr and a half for the whole thing. I would definitely hire them again. I save that much in chiropractic bills!

I was told that I would have to complete the estimate form, myself, on their website, and that they only work by the hour. They refused to come out to the house to provide a binding (guaranteed) estimate. In my experience, when a mover refused a binding estimate, and works by the hour, it always costs a lot more than is originally "estimated" without setting eyes on the customers household belongings. I will continue to search for another mover.

These guys were the best movers I've ever seen. They were professional, punctual, and very conscientious about each item moved. They worked hard to be gentle and not ding the walls, floors, door frames, etc. and laid down blankets to avoid any kind of dirt or scratching of the hardwood floors. These guys were absolutely fantastic. You can tell they take pride in what they do and how they treat their customers because it shows in the quality of their work and their and work ethic. If I ever had to move again, I wouldn't dream of using anyone else. I highly recommend them to anyone. They deliver fantastic customer service and at a great price.

Darren and Xavier called enroute to the move and were on time. We are very particular about taking great care with our items and it showed that both Darren and Xavier were of the same mindset. Both very careful handling items, wrapped our furniture using pads. The move was from a apartment building to an older 1920s home with somewhat narrow doorways. several of the pieces of furniture had to be delicately turned various ways to allow for movement into the rooms. They were EXCELLENT at doing this! These guys worked very hard with extreme care in the handling of our furniture. It was a great relief since moving is stressful anyway. Total actual time billed was 4 hours including drive time. Thanks Guys! We hope to never move again but in the event we do- we will use you in a heartbeat. David & Andrew

He made sure he had all the information he needed to make the move easy for us. 3 men were at our door on time for the move and these men worked hard from start to finish! Very professional and handled all of our boxes with care.Took apart beds and put together in new home. Estimate was very close matter of fact a bit lower then quoted which was nice! From the very beginning, this company responded to my changing needs with patience and professionalism. Martin was great in setting up my moving date and working with me on the variables. I used a POD and was concerned all would not fit and I'd need a second. But the two men who moved me, Victor and John, were packing geniuses as well as cheerful and professional. They finished their work quickly and handled my antiques and all items with care. I highly recommend Seattle Movers!

Contacted Kirk Pesce of Seattle Moving. Kirk, and the three professional movers handled everything very well. Thanks to Kirk and his crew, this move was less stressful, than others I've experienced. Kirk responded promptly, and gave me a written estimate. He scheduled my move on short notice, which was very helpful. He gave me a confirmation reminder the day before the move. The three muscular and "clean-cut" appearing movers arrived on schedule, and were fully prepared with clean blankets and boxes. They wrapped and packed items, separating them for delivery to three different locations, as I requested. They also brought tools and successfully dismantled a large desk, and king headboard, which was necessary in preparing them for transport. The men carefully loaded everthing in the truck, working very hard and quickly. This included some extremely heavy, and difficult items, including a large dining table made of solid marble, and granite pedestals. They transported everything in their attractive mountain designed truck to each destination, and unloaded the proper pieces perfectly. Seattle Movers have the best value in pricing a move, (compared to my last five moves in the greater Seattle area). I will definitely call them again, for my next move. Also, nothing was damaged. Great work. Thanks.
Description of Work: Kirk Pesce, at Seattle Movers promptly responded, explained the process, and provided a written estimate for moving. Kirk scheduled the move, and recording important details. The men wrapped and packed items, loading them carefully, and secured them in the moving truck. They used their tools to dismantel a large desk and headboard, needed to prepare them for transport. They delivered the specificed furniture to three different locations. Each furniture piece was unloaded and placed in proper position. Furniture and large pictures were nicely protected, throughout the day, successfully delivering everything without any damage.

Extremely satisfied with every aspect of our move. Arranging the move and getting a contract was very easy and smooth. They were responsive to all our questions. They kept in contact up to and included the day of the move when they called while in route. The guys who moved us were exceptional! While working quickly, they were cautious not to damage our houses or our furniture. The weather was wet so they placed pads on our rugs to ensure they were not soiled. They were very professional and knew exactly how to handle the furniture and packing. They were extremely polite and helpful in ensuring we got all the help we needed. My wife and I have moved 22 times to include 10 international moves . We rate this move right at the top. The cost was very reasonable. They took less time than estimated. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!!

Aside from having some difficulty finding our apartment using an outdated GPS map, we couldn't have asked for the move to go more smoothly. The guys showed up at the apartment first, then carefully loaded their truck with the contents. They were very conscientious and pointed out existing nicks and chips in our furniture before moving it. They then drove the items to our new house where they unloaded 2 PODS storage containers before unloading the truck. Those PODS hold alot of furniture and the two of them worked as long as they had to in order to get it all done. Then a couple of days later we had them back to clean out a storage locker that contained the rest of our furniture and household goods. The same crew arrived and made short work of the move, carefully placing things as directed in our two-story home. Again, their politeness and care of our furniture was welcome and appreciated. They were very considerate of our new hardwood floors and new carpet and laid down (extra cost) carpet protection film.

Excellent experience with Kirk and his crew at Seattle Movers. Always great to see the owner come out and bid in person and the bid was reasonable and prompt. On the day we had a mix up - we were ready to move but they had a different day. I checked my paperwork and sure enough they had confirmed a different day to us three times. My fault - I did not spot it. Now here is the great thing. They took complete responsibility for the date issue, never once did a "you said/we said" at me, instead apologized and focused on getting a crew to my house. And the crew arrived fast. Then they added on extra crew as they came of other jobs. Everyone was friendly, helpful and thoughtful. They worked tirelessly and in sheeting rain. And they kept going til it was all done. Oh and to boot them came in under budget. Joe, Vic, Marc and Will were all great but Martin and Garrett were the standouts, with us all day and really set the positive tone. Have already been recommending to my friends - a very positive experience. Thank you!

We were very happy with the job that Travis and Leland did for us. They had to carry many large, heavy pieces down a long flight of stairs and they were exceedingly careful. There was no damage to the home or the items moved. They were very fast and very cooperative and pleasant!
