Roto-Rooter Plumbing & Water Cleanup

They were great. They came out and they could not get the clog out so they did not charge us. They came out and tried to find the clog with a camera and that did not work so they did not charge us. They sent out another guy who knew something better and he was able to find the clog with a camera and mark where it was. All three trips took place in three days and they did not charge us for the work. I give them an A for everything. I will definitely use them again in the future.

I have used them for 23 years and have always been thrilled with the work they have done, including identifying issues and fixing them for a reasonable. However, they have apparently changed their billing method and now charge by the type of job. They charged me $679 to clean one tub drain, two bathroom sink drains and replace an outside faucet. When the plumber quoted the price I assumed there must be something very wrong with my drains, but not so. The work took about 45 minutes. I complained and the manager explained their new billing practice and took $200 off my bill. Would NEVER use them again.

To get to plumbing the vanity & sink had to be removed in OTHER bathroom to get to pipes. Plumber ripped out more sheet rock than needed for repair - cut out was jagged and rough - additional sheet rock needed to be removed to "fix" the gianormous hole he left. We have brushed alumium fixtures in the bathroom. The dispatcher was told this when we called in and we were assured that the plumber had many types of fixtures available in case any needed to be replaced. WRONG! The plumber had ONE type and style of water turn on fixture - STAINLESS - his attitide was take it or leave it. Plumber used CLEAR caulking around fixture - work was sloppy. He caulked over the dirty fingerprints he left on the tiles. The original caulking was ALMOND. Overall - they were fast and it appeared that the leak in the pipe was fixed but did poor finishing work and did not have a variety of plumbing fixtures needed to do the job correctly- regardless of what the dispatcher told us. We have since gone back to stainess fixtures (faucet, shower head, shower curtain rod, etc. to match the plumber's work. I would NOT call them again.

They came out in the evening to check on our drain. The plumber who came to get the work done thought that he couldn?t fix the drain. So, he sent another plumber the next morning to get the work done. Even though the other plumber tried really hard, he couldn?t fix it either. It wasn?t their fault, as it was very difficult to fix the problem. So, they had to send another guy the next day. Finally, the third guy who came out cut into the line and worked really hard to get it fixed which we never expected him to do. They did a good job. They were fast and courteous. They were very responsive and were very good. The price charged by them was a bit high. I would use their services in the future as well.

They were prompt, didn't waste a lot of time in terms of doing the job quickly, and the particular person who came out was very helpful in terms of explaining what he had to do. They allowed me to do some of the work myself, which helped me to save some money. At the end of the job though, they sent in someone who tried to sell me more then I needed to have, so I wanted to be done with them at point.

For less than half an hour of work, the technician charged $330 without their online discount. I think this is at least triple than what others charge and they didn't want to give a quote over the phone for how much. I felt taken advantage because of the clogged sewer situation and didn't give me a choice by making it fixed bid. The technician also seemed to looking for ways to upsell and look for other problems. Definitely a rip-off and will never call these guys again!!

It went very well. They came out quickly and the service was done quickly and efficiently. The technician provided valuable information about the work he was doing.

I like them because they are consistent, quick and come whenever I call them. They provide very good quality of services.

The person who came out was extremely courteous and sympathetic. Their pricing was very high and I could not afford to have the work done.

They were very clean and if I ever have to use them again, I will. I think they are fantastic!

I had just purchased a new home. While moving into the home I noticed that the drains made strange burbling noises whenever water was being run in the house, also the toilet wasn't able to flush part of the time. I suspected that the problem was either venting, a blockage, or both based on what I had researched online about the symptoms. I called Roto Rooter and to my surprise they were able to send a plumber that same day. When the plumber arrived, he said that he needed to remove the entire toilet in order to access the sewer line. This more than doubled the price of the job from what I was quoted on the phone. However, I understood the extra labor involved and I really needed the plumbing and especially the toilet to work before I began living in the house permanently. He got the job done in a reasonable amount of time, and the entire time he was there he explained what he was doing and had a very friendly personality. The problems he came to fix were definitely fixed. A day after the work was performed my wife noticed that a valve next to the toilet leaked. It wasn't a major leak, but it was enough to keep the floor constantly damp. I had done a lot of work in that room refinishing the bathtub and I would definitely have noticed the leak if it had happened before. The leak was coming from the angle stop next to the toilet. We called Roto Rooter again, and they sent another plumber. That plumber replaced the line from the stop valve to the toilet, and didn't charge us any extra either labor or parts, but that didn't fix the leak at all. I certainly would choose a minor leak over faulty pipes, but at the same time I don't think a plumber should leave a plumbing problem that wasn't there before the service.

Pedram showed up on time and explained to me the cost ahead of time. It took him about 30 minutes or so to clear out the drain. The only problem I have is that the price is expensive but I had to get a plumber in right away so I was limited in my options.

The plumber arrived on time and gave me the estimate. We were having trouble with water coming through a crack in the basement floor. We were instructed to have a line run through our sewer line to see if there was clog. They snaked the sewer from a downstairs toilet. The plumber was able to see that the line was open and had little bits of root that he removed, but disclosed that it was not the problem. He was here for only a short amount of time, but the labor was extremely expensive. What I want customers to know is a flat fee is charged no matter how much time is spent, 30 minutes or 10 hours. The manager told me that's how they do business and they don't negotiate. I say consumer beware.

I CALLED ROTO ROOTER OF DELMARVA TO HAVE MY SEPTIC TANK PUMPED AND CLEANED. BECAUSE I OWN AND OPERATE A FAMILY HOME DAYCARE, I NEEDED THE SERVICES PERFORMED AROUND MY SCHEDULE. THE CUSTOMER SERVICE REP WHO SCHEDULED MY SERVICE WAS FRIENDLY, HELPFUL, INFORMATIVE AND POLITE. SHE SCHEDULED MY SERVICE AT A SUITABLE TIME. I EXPECTED SERVICE WITHIN A WEEK OR TWO BUT THEY CAME OUT THE NEXT DAY!!! THE SERVICE TECHNICIAN ARRIVED ON TIME, CLEAN AND PROFESSIONALLY INTRODUCED HIMSELF ALTHOUGH DRESSED IN A FULL, TIDY UNIFORM. HE EXPLAINED THE PROCESS AND INVITED ME TO OBSERVE IF I WOULD LIKE. HE SHOWED ME THE TANKS BEFORE AND AFTER CLEANING AND UPON COMPLETION THEY WERE S*** AND SPAN!! HE EVEN HAD ME FLUSH ALL TOILETS AND WATCHED THE PAPER COME INTO THE TANK TO ENSURE ME MY SYSTEM WAS FLOWING PROPERLY. HE ALSO OFFERED ME A YEARS' SUPPLY OF SEPTIC TREATMENT AND EXPLAINED THE BENEFITS. DURING DIFFICULT ECONOMIC TIMES, I WAS EXTREMELY SATISFIED IN THE ENTIRE PROCESS. IT WAS MONEY WELL SPENT. I WILL CONTINUE TO USE ROTO-ROOTER OF DELMARVA FOR ALL MY FAMILYS' SEPTIC, DRAIN AND PLUMBING NEEDS AND HAVE TOLD ALL MY FRIENDS AND FAMILY TO DO THE SAME!

The technician (Michael #0124) arrived on-time, was pleasant and talked about his base charge up-front. I've had other roto-rooter guys walk in and say "300-hundred" to a job that wasn't nearly as difficult. Mike had to crawl around on his belly to a far corner and work in 3-inches of water to cut the bad section out and replace it. I use Roto-Rooter for the stuff I need done quickly and they are always easy to schedule same-day. This technician is worth requesting but I've had others that are equally skilled and pleasant. I've had one mediocre experience out of the four times I've called RR--not bad for a chain-company! Do: request a technician you've had in the past and liked/or request Michael (#0124). Don't: settle on a flat price for the entire job (within reason). It may take 8 minutes and $300.00 will feel like a rip-off! (If you know they will have to replace all your plumbing--agree to the $300!)

Awesome company, came out within 24 hours of phone call. Extremely prompt and courteous. Put shoe covers on every time he entered the house, even if he was just coming up from basement. Spent several hours working on one faulty line that other plumbers said couldn't be fixed. Repaired leaking T-valves on furnace and installed a new mixing valve, completely cleaned work area after repairs were done. Can't say enough positive, prompt, courteous and would use again in a heartbeat.

It went really well. They did a good job and we were happy with them. They explained everything and weren't just trying to sell more services. They left it up to us whether we would need it or not. We did not feel pressured.

They were very professional. I would recommend them. I would prefer that they wear shoe coverings.

I was in a hurry and didn't have a snake so decided to splurge and call someone to clear my bathroom sink drain. The technician arrived within a few hours of my call. I knew things were headed south when he had to sit down with a large book to give me a quote then he asked if I had a membership... so long story short he wanted $300 (special Angie's list price) plus a $20 fuel charge to snake the drain. I expected to pay a lot but $320 for a 15 minute job? I declined his offer, bought a $14 snake and did it myself in about 15 minutes.

This company came out following another company that complained that my drains couldn't be cleared properly because the house was old and sub code. The technician was a true professional. He had the touch or the feel to be skilled at the rooter. He quickly maneuvered the rooter past the joint or angle that the previous company couldn't get past. This company earned their money where the previous one stole theirs. It has been several months now since the job, and the drain is working fine.

They spent some time fooling around, and then told me they would have to take out the wall to fix the issue. I declined this service. When they were leaving one of the workers said that I should put some drain cleaner down the drain. I did and everything was fixed.

Arrived promptly and on time. Worker reviewed situation, gave an estimate, and started on the drain. Cleaned drain and left area clean and neat. Offered to infuse a root killer for an extra $100, but we have found that this has not made a significant difference in keeping the roots out, so we declined. Roto-rooter has always been dependable for us.

The man from Roto Rooter showed up and took a look at both toilets. He took a look at the access from below and then quoted me $300 to fix them. He then went to his truck, grabber an auger and proceeded to spend 5 minutes auguring both the toilets which fixed the problem. Good service and professionalism from him, but the price of $300 for 5 minutes was a bit too high for me. From having worked with other plumbers (the one I usually go with was out of town) this blew me away.

They told me I didn't need a new sewer line and they gave me a 1 year guaranty on their cleaning. I thought that they were more interested in solving my problem than selling me a new sewer. I would highly recommend them. They did push for some chemical that they wanted me to use, but that's pretty standard.
