They did really good. I like their product as well. I feel like it was superior to others on the market. I call them and order and they deliver. They did a really nice job. The local guy was very knowledgeable and came out fast. I would recommend them to others.
Description of Work: My toilet was backed up. They came and cleaned it out and gave me a product that keeps the drain and toilet clean.

Worked the weekend, all employees were super nice and professional. I think this was a bit high, but being a holiday weekend, etc, I didn't have the ability to call many for comparison bids. Roto rooter came out and I knew they would be in business in the future if I had any problems. 1,000 square feet of my basement had raw sewage on it.
Description of Work: Located failure in sewer pipe, cleared blockage, jackhammered patio to expose pipes, fixed pipe, repoured spot on patio.

When we called Roto-Rooter, we were connected to a dispatcher who scheduled an appointment with the technician who serviced our area at the time we would be home. We felt that we hit pay dirt when Toan (prounounced TWAN) (#6849) arrived. He not only showed up on time, he made himself available for the entire length of time that we need to get the entire job completed that night. It was obvious that he was there to serve our needs, which were extensive. He gave us several tips on how to prevent any future back-ups and how to keep the roots at bay. Toan has a great sense of humor which made the entire project enjoyable!! He?s the person that we want to see show up the next time we have any plumbing problems. I forgot to mention that Toan works out of the Lynnwood, WA office.
Description of Work: The house that we were working on had not been occupied for some time. We experienced two significant problems that required a larger cable to run from the septic tank to the house and a smaller cable to run from the upstairs kitchen sink about 40-50 feet into the septic lines. Large masses of roots were damming up the lines between the septic and the house, and a large amount of sludge was lodged somewhere between the internal pipes and the outside septic lines. We had sinks and showers backing up and toilets gurgling. When the job was done, everything drained beautifully!

Very fast service, fixed problem -- but price structure is bizarre Service was very fast; said they could have someone out there within 2 hours, and would call me before they came. They did on both counts. But that was the only good part. They won?t quote you a price over the phone. Right there I was concerned, but decided that since it was ?only? for a blocked downspout and wasn?t critical (e.g. toilet overflowing), if I didn?t like the price, I would send them away. They came, I didn?t like the price. $350 minimum for a basic clean, $520 to use a jet cleaner. So I sent them away. 5 minutes later, doorbell rang. By magic, the price was now $200. Even though it still seemed rather expensive, I went ahead with it. They unclogged it in about 20 minutes. And after all that, turned out all they needed was a wet/dry vac to remove the dirt and pine needles that was blocking it! Very expensive home repair lesson! On the plus side, when I noticed another downspout drain blocked, I just got out my wet/dry vac, 20 minutes later all was fixed. Cha-ching!
Description of Work: Unclogged downspout drain. [Or whatever that thing is called where water from the downspout goes underground. To somewhere. No idea where the water actually ends up, in the storm sewer I assume?]

A couple of years ago when we were in a condominium, we actually wanted to rent it out, and we wanted to change some things in our toilet. They came and did like half of the work but he charged $300. That was way too much. And he was not even polite, so we were not happy. I would never use them again. I think he got offended when we mentioned our concern about the price and he started being very offensive. They came on time, but all I remember now is how much they charged and how impolite the guy was. The quality of the work was OK, I didn't have a problem with that.
Description of Work: I had a very bad experience with Roto-Rooter Plumbing & Drain Services. He came and reviewed it and we had to hire him because it was urgent. He had to change the toilet. And he had to change a shower head for our two bathrooms.

Overnight the main toilet in my home had backed up and overflowed. At the same time, the toilet in the half bath couldn't be flushed, so we were at the mercy of a professional to help us address the problem. The first and only visit from a technician at RotoRoter was adequate, but did not resolve the problem. Technician was courteous and provided future advice (I.e., limit use of toilet paper, don't flush wipes) but seemed ill equipped to handle our rather typical residential problem. Since this was our first plumbing issue, I was unaware of there being an external access to the sewage line. The tech looked around outside and didn't find one, so he lugged in equipment that was contaminated with past debris and outdoor soil, etc., to perform the work inside my house. When we engaged a different company to complete the work, outdoor access was located. Had this been the case for the RotoRooter tech, he might have made more progress, but we also would not have needed to pay for most of the indoor work he performed! Also of note, the other company promptly advised us of specialty clean-up services so that we could address the interior water damage and make sure no one in the household became ill. I consider this a major oversight by RotoRooter. Before he departed, the technician took my check for $388.92. After the technician had called in to his company a request for an urgent visit to finish the job, we did not receive a call from Roto Rooter. At 10:30 the next morning, I phoned them. A rude dispatcher told me the best she could do was give me a time frame for a late afternoon visit, and there would be no way to ensure that my toilets would be back to running condition after that visit. My sense of dissatisfaction drove me to call PUGET SOUND PLUMBING for a second opinion. Within an hour of my call, two technicians arrived with all the equipment they might need and I was reassured, "We will stay here as long as we need to get your home back in order." And they did. What a difference!
Description of Work: Next day house call to address toilet overflow caused by main line blockage. Technician removed main toilet, ran a snake through until he encountered a solid obstruction, then informed us that he would need to request a visit from a different technician who had a scope available. While he entered the request for that evening, we never heard back from anyone until I phoned back the next morning. All the while, we had no working toilet in the home and the floors in half the house were soaked with sewage water.

During a telecommuting stay at home due to snow, water suddenly started to flow down the side of my house, from the roof area. Quite alarmed, I called my old friends Rotorooter, who have provided amazing service and fair prices for me in the past. Because of my very good experiences with this company, I trusted them. They immediately sent a plumber, which was great. In the course of checking what could be the problem outside, I tried to turn off the water under one of my bathroom double sinks. The valve started leaking. As a serviceman from Rotorooter had fixed the seal on the other sink a short time ago, and said it was such a simple fix that he did it for free, I thought this wouldn't be too hard to fix. Mike Doll arrived. He was very nice and had a pleasant personality. We didn't know what the water pouring down the side of the house could be (it had finally stopped). It turned out to be a clogged gutter, which I found out later. I showed him the leaking valve, my problem with the leaking sink in a second bathroom, and described the leaky faucet (which I had read involved a simple repair). Mike told me my sink was rusted out in the second bathroom. Fair enough. He said he couldn't repair the leaky valve, even though I described the way the last guy repaired it easily. He said he couldn't fix the leaky faucet. Mike told me all three sinks must be replaced, that the faucets should all be replaced, and that all the angle stops under the sinks should be replaced. Ok, I trusted Rotorooter. I asked if the disposal under the kitchen sink, which had been replaced by Rotorooter just about three years ago, could be fixed. He said no, if it was jammed, they needed to be replaced after 2 or 3 years. Ok, I trusted Rotorooter. He told me it would cost $1,500.00 to replace 6 angle stops and the disposal. He gave me a quote of over $2,200 to install three sinks and three faucets, with parts. At this point, with a sink leaking and water flowing, I agreed to the $1,500 part only, as I still trusted Rotorooter. $1,562.00 later, he told me he refused to connect the water to two sinks, as he stated they needed to be replaced - although only one was rusted. After all that, I had one working sink. After he left, I discovered angle stops cost $8.00 at Home Depot. He charged $189.94. He replaced a disposal and charged $180.00 for the part, refusing to even try to repair it. The remainder of this visit was labor. He was here a couple of hours, at most. I later easily found that turning a part on the bottom of a disposal can un-jam it, according to several fix-it sites. I admit I agreed to the estimate. A repeat customer, I trusted this business. However, $1,500 for one disposal and 6 angle stops in comparison to $2,220 to replace a refrigerator, microwave, stove and dishwasher from Home Depot started ringing a few bells in my head, and after research, I realized I had been badly taken advantage of. I also found I can get three porcelain sinks and three faucets from Home Depot for $350.00 total, instead of the $750.00 quoted, with over $1,200 quoted to install them. We should be able to trust a business to be fair and not take advantage of people after building a customer relationship. I believe Rotorooter should refund a portion of the $189.00 charged for $48.00 worth of angle stops. The labor charge was outrageous, not to mention claiming, without even checking, that my disposal needed replacement. I believe Rotorooter should check on over-charges in this matter.
Description of Work: Installed 6 angle stops and one disposal. Charged $1,562.00 for parts and labor. Please see my story for the details. A long-standing trusting relationship with this company has been destroyed. UPDATE: I provided RotoRooter with a copy of my AngiesList review and Pat Swanson immediately made a formal complaint to a manager. Although it took a bit longer for the manager to contact me than Pat indicated (by the way, Pat Swanson was truly kind and professional), Chris Blamire called and emailed that same day. I sent Chris a copy of my invoice. We made an appointment for a teleconference. Chris reduced the overcharges on the parts, and reduced the labor charge from a flat rate charge to their hourly rate. I received a refund check of $762.63. I am very pleased that the company cares about its customers. Thank you for listening, Chris!

Got a call from a tenent in our rental home that she had discovered standing waste water coming from under the home. I went over to the home and discovered that the drain for waste water was disconnected and had been for awhile. Went to Angies List and deceided on Roto Rooter due to the reviews. Called, explained my problem and they gave me an arrivel time of 11/2 hrs. Rental home is in Tumwater. Customer service was excellent. They sent someone from Puyallup, Joshua #69-1485. Arrived as promised. He was great! A sense of humor and also professional. He had to put up with 4 women! He gave me a great price, much lower than I expected. A big thanks to Joshua and Roto Rooter! Keep up the great customer service. I will definetly be calling the next time. C Brown

Called to schedule appt, they would not give any price over phone or 1/2 hour rate fees.Very polite call center. On arrival I inquired about the price was advised $350, I indicated it takes less than 30 minutes is that the 1/2hr rate. Was advised to clean a main sewer ( full access was available) that is the cost. Two service men showed up. They advised I paid close to that last, time and I advised yes and it was 15 minutes and will not do that again, since I know the time frame.
Description of Work: I used them in the past to clean my main sewer it takes 15 minutes. I scheduled the appt and they were very prompt. It was inside full access to the line. They advised $350 for a job that takes less than 30 minutes. I refused the service. That is unacceptable pricing.

this was the Lakewood, WA branch of Roto Rooter
Description of Work: My kitchen drain was backed up. That was all that was wrong The response time was good and a fellow showed up to fix the sink. He had a trainee with him and I wonder if that fellow actually decided to work with this company. During his time here he replaced every pipe under my kitchen sink, cleared the drain . I was happy at the time (not with the price) because the clog was gone. Since that expenditure, every week something that he fixed has gone bad. I have an air lock in the faucet and had to take the end filter off to prevent the water from running all the time. I have had to tape a hole in the spray nozzel hose and the three places where pipes were replaced are all dripping. After the fact several people told me to NEVER use Roto Rooter and that is my suggestion to you. think long and hard about a plumber because once they are at your home you are pretty much under their influence. this was a very bad experience and now I have to have it all changed back the way it was. By the time I realized I had been duped it was too last and I just could not risk them coming back even for free. I feel like a fool. I ended up with Tom's plumbing, whose charge for such a fix is $200-$250. decide for yourselves

The plumber came out, during the evening. He appeared to know what he was doing. After cleaning out the sewer line, he put things back together, we signed the invoice and he took off. I should note the plumber was very professional and polite. The next day the same problem occurred. I called Roto Rooter back the next day, at which point the problem was resolved to our satisfaction.
Description of Work: Roto Rooter was called to our home to repair a blocked sewer line. It took a couple of tries but the problem was resolved. I am happy to report that after a good discussion with Roto Rooter production management, they were able to honor their written warranty on their work.

We had some plumbing issues at the house, a few backed up drains and some leaky faucets, as well as some general plumbing questions. We called the Roto-Rooter Seattle for assistance. Our Service Technician was Arash Moshfeghi. He was very helpful and cleared the drains quickly. He answered our questions about our various other plumbing issues in a clear and understandable manner. He was very friendly as well. We would absolutely recommend Roto Rooter Seattle and Arash in particular for any plumbing issues. Thank you for making this less stressful than plumbing problems usually are.

This company was prompt, professional and took care of the problem. There were roots in the line causing back ups. Overall, it went well. I would definitely call them again as they are very responsive and do not overcharge for a weekend or emergency call. Also, the call center reps would call to tell me when my technician would arrive or if they were running late. With my camera inspection, I was given a DVD that included a narrative of what I was looking at and where the problems were occurring. I was never made to feel as though I had to install a new pipe right away, but was given an estimate for a pipe replacement along with an estimated timeframe to replace it.
Description of Work: I used them twice; the first time to clear a clog due to roots and the second time for a camera inspection. Both times, the plumbers were professional, courteous, and took the time to explain the problems to me and offer recommendations.

The price was a little steep. He just pulled out a shop vac. Had I known that was all he was going to do, I could have done that. He was really prompt and really efficient. I have some more problems with drains upstairs but I’m not about to call them. He was polite and friendly and here real fast. I would use him again, but very selectively. I think all plumbers are very expensive and I think they raise the price when they see my house.

I called at 7:15pm on a Sunday evening explaining that my drain was blocked and that water had backed up not only in my kitchen sink but also through the drain line for the washing machine. The scheduler said they would have someone out to see me within the next 3 hours and that I would receive a confirmation email. After 2 hours and no confirmation email, I called back. They explained I should still see someone within the next hour and that I was on the schedule. Just prior to 10:15 - the 3 hour mark - they called to say the plumber was running late and it might be another 30 minutes. About an hour later (11:15) they called to say the plumber was on the way. They were very apologetic each time, and they did give me the name of the plumber so I knew who to expect. The plumber was professional, friendly, and did a very thorough job explaining the process. He gave us a quote prior to starting the work - the standard ~$300 they charge to unblock drains. It seems high, but what else can you do at almost midnight on a Sunday? He talked through the process as he was unblocking the drain and even showed us what had caused the blockage - plant roots - and explained how they got into the drain line. He cleaned up the mess prior to leaving, and he respected the $50 coupon we printed off their website (better than the $40 deal for Angie's list members). Everything seemed to work fine, so he left. The next morning after running the dish washer, I found the dish washer did not drain. It turned out the backed up water and food made its way into the dish washer out line as well and also blocked it. While I don't put significant blame on the plumber for not thinking to check that, it was definitely an early morning irritation that a more thorough investigation could have prevented.
