 + -1 moreFrustrated by the pricing: much higher than others and continual surprises (e.g., exorbitant charge for delivery; price per hour of onsite touch-up kept increasing; minimum charge for on site touch-up was not explained, etc). Quality of the repairs, especially the chest, was very good.
Description of Work: Repaired chest of drawers and several nicks in furniture incurred during move.

 + -1 moreThe refinished tops are gorgeous! They had been black & the sales reprsentative helped me select a warm walnut stain for tops while I left legs black. It came out just beautiful! The couch is rather large & the sales representaitve was very clear about the number of rubs suggested for seating choices. I was determined to have ticking and so picked a lesser number of rubs but ordered a second set of cushion covers to extend life of the new upholstery. I think the recovered couch is beautiful! It was expensive but I love the feel & shape of my couch & for me it is worth the cost. The three pieces took about a month and were completed by the deadline.

 + 2 moreQueen Anne Upholstery was very professional from start to finish. Karen met with us to review the requirements of each piece. She brought several fabric books and understood the look we wanted to achieve. The initial work involved 3 pieces of furniture - taking about 6 weeks to complete. Delivery time and arrival were communicated well so that we knew exactly when they were arriving. We were 100% satisfied so we had 2 additional pieces of furniture repaired and refinished. One piece was delivered that we felt needed a little more refinishing and they completed the work with no hesitation. We highly recommend this company.
Description of Work: We had several pieces of antique furniture that needed cleaning, repair of millwork and refinishing. The pieces of furniture each required varying degrees of work. The two chairs were over 100 years old needed new upholstery but we wanted to keep the general look while updating the fabric. The millwork was missing some decorative moulding and/or was cracked. Overall we wanted to keep the aged patina on all of the pieces.

 + -1 moreI was very impressed with every aspect of the work. The crew that came to removed the doors did it quickly and installed plywood to secure the house in a way that didn't damage the frame. The doors were stripped very quickly and I was asked to come choose the stain color and give helpful advice. The doors were finished and replaced very quickly. When I noticed that the lock had been installed upside down, a man was sent out the next morning to fix it. The doors look great and the team at Ballard Refinishing were easy to work with.
Description of Work: Removed entry doors and refinished the outside of them.

 + -1 moreI had a chair and ottoman that had belonged to my father. I didn't want to part with it although the leather was very worn and ripped and the chair was very loose and wiggly. Lanae was very helpful. She assisted with selecting the fabric and then communicating when it was discovered that a part to repair the chair needed to be researched to see if it was still available. Delivery was on time and courteous. The chair and ottoman look wonderful!

Description of Work: Provided an estimate to recover two outside chaise lounges which was so high that I assume that they did not want the job. I later had the cushions recovered by another company for over 50% less by way of much less material as was estimated by Q A Upholstery and a more reasonable charge for labor. Cleaned up, repaired and stained a small entry table. I had to return the table to ask them to redo the top as the stain almost completely covered up the wood inlay. To their credit, they did redo the top with a lighter stain and it turned out very nice.

 + -1 moreThe transaction went quite well with a couple of minor hiccups. There was an error on the original invoice in respect to the sales tax calculation. It was later corrected without my intervention, and to be honest, the transaction was made more complex because I had previously purchased the Angie's List $99 coupon. Also, the work was not completed within the time promised. I feel that they made up for this shortcoming however, by delivering the finished cushion to my house.

 + -1 moreThey did a great job. I even took a cushion to them that they had fixed previously. They went ahead and fixed the buttons for no additional charge even though it was outside of the warranty period. They are bit pricey, but you pay for quality and they are a high quality company.

They said it would be $400 which I thought was a lot but.. told the OK. As soon as they found out that I had an Angie's List discount, the price went up to $500. The chairs cost lest than that new.

 + -1 moreExcellent work on the refinishing.. Work was done in a timely manner. Somewhat long time waiting for assistance when I brought the piece in ro the shop. It might be advisable to insist on a time specific appt time with the appraiser. The piece was nicely wrapped in protective packaging when I picked it up but was able to inspect it prior to taking it home.Senior discount of 5% applied but the price was still steep.I did not get other bids but, in the end, I am happy with the quality of the work.
