I can't believe Ira has no other reviews on here! We're both architects and know a little more than the average home owner about types of roofing options for a new roof, and how it should be detailed. It was important to us to shell out for the metal roof, not only because it would last for 100 years, but also for the aesthetic, ease of maintenance, and environmental drawbacks of a less sustainable asphalt shingle roof. We got a few quotes from various roofers, and when we called another highly rated roofer on angie's list, they were too busy to take us this fall, but recommended Ira. (QPR). Ira is a really easy to talk to, friendly, highly capable, very knowledgeable guy. And his pricing was competitive. He was very upfront and non-biased about the condition of our current roof (we were trying to decide if we should get a new roof this year or in the next couple) and despite him telling us we probably had a little longer than we thought, we asked him to do a new roof anyway. He had a crew on the scene in just a couple weeks. and they were FAST! the old roof came off and all the underlayment was done in ONE weekend. the next weekend they ALMOST finished the installment of the metal roof. Our house ended up being a lot of labor with a lot of little dormers and roof details on a 110 year old victorian/craftsman in the CD. Ira was out on the scene often, making sure the crew was doing good. We loved the guys that were working out here. they showed up at 8am on the dot and NEVER took any breaks until the last sliver of daylight dissapeared. I've never seen contractors work as hard as his guys. and we see a lot of contractors in our job and around this old house. The craftmenship was excellent. the roof penetrations were done with care and look great. They cleaned up extremely well at the end of the day and never troubled us once. AND they were very careful around our landscaping. We haven't gotten on Ira's schedule for the new zinc half-round gutters yet (it's the busy time of year for roofers) but our current gutters are totally functional (just ugly) so we're okay with waiting a few more weeks. Ira had great references that we checked on before hiring him, which is why I'm surprised there's not more reviews on here. We would hire Ira again, recommend him professionally and to friends, and are REALLY happy with our new roof. definitely worth the money.
