Puget Sound Alarm

I called Puget Sound upon the recommendation of my neighbor , who had researched alarm companies and who is satisfied with their service. They arrived promptly, provided professional and courteous service. Galen gave clear instructions. System appears to be working. We enjoyed working with Galen, very pleasant young man.

Tom, the sales rep was very friendly, though it did take some time to get responses via my messages on Angie's List. I find that calling them is faster. Unfortunately, I didn't get to have an estimate as I just bought a home and wanted my home secured as fast as possible, since I was able to schedule time with another vendor the day after I closed on my home, I ended up going ahead with that vendor. I did notify Puget Alarms by leaving a voice mail a couple of days ago that I won't need them to come out for an estimate (scheduled for today) however I haven't received any confirmations or responses back. PS: I don't know how much the installation costs were but monthly monitoring from what I remember is about $50 a month.

We've used this service for 20+ years. The recently updated our alarm processing device. They are responsive, informative and cost effective.

I contacted Puget Sound Alarm about disconnecting an alarm that I inherited from the previous home owner. They instructed me that it was simple to do, and gave me the steps to disconnect the alarm. I was able to follow the steps and I disconnected the alarm. They could have easily come out to my house and charged me for this, but they helped save me a service charge. Thanks Puget Sound Alarm!

Great experience with a locally owned business. After talking to the big national companies and a smaller locksmith who also does alarms on the side I was extremely pleased to meet and do business with the folks at Puget Sound Alarm. They are family owned and operated, one of the owners came out in person to assess my needs and quote the job. It cost a little more than I expected, especially as compared to the and quot;freeand quot; systems you can get from ADT, but it was well worth the price. The system is top notch, the monthly service cheaper, and the install crew did an amazing job using both hardwired and wireless devices and were very clean and professional. Highly recommended!

I really liked the people. They knew exactly where to put the sensors and explained the system to me very well.

Installation was done quickly and professionally. Technicians were polite and skilled. Any mess due to the installation was cleaned up by the technicians.

I would recommend Puget sound alarm to everyone. It is a friendly, family-owned business and you feel the difference dealing with the same people and therefore the customer service is excellent. This company is very professional and efficient. The owner, Thomas Corrigan, gave me a discount and his brother-in-law installed the system. Mario, was hard working and installed everything in a timely manner. He took time to ensure I understood how to operate the system. I am having the alarm centrally monitored by the same company for $30.00/month.

The installation could not have gone more smoothly and was done correctly the first time. Back in 2007 when I had the alarm system installed, Puget Sound Alarm was owned and operated by two brothers who had years of experience. They installed all of the units and gave me good advice of where units should be located for optimal performance. I was given as much 'hand-holding' as needed on how to operate the master panel and they didn't show any annoyance at answering a few phone calls to ask additional questions. The maintenance service was also with Puget Sound Alarm, and it was really nice to talk to local friendly people - who answered the telephone so you didn't have to suffer through voice mail trees. Subsequently, the monitoring service was transferred to another company, but maintenance service and any installs are still performed by Puget Sound Energy, and it appears to be a joint relationship of some sort as monitor service billings still come from PSE. I've only had two occasions over the past several years to call on malfunctions - the first turned out to be a problem actually caused by the cable company technician who came and did something with the phone line when working on my internet service, and the second time quite recently when the batteries in one of the wireless units was going out and triggered the alarm (which the monitoring service called me on first so I avoided a false call charge from the police dept). Puget Sound Alarm did and has been doing a great job, is still easy to contact and query, the monitoring service has also gone well, and the prices are very reasonable. I would recommend them highly. For my money and peace of mind, a local presence beats a behemoth national company that's difficult to contact and doesn't concern itself with individual customer care or service.

I'm very disappointed that I did not receive the courtesy of a return call. My guess is they really don't want to bother working so far away but, if that's the case, they should not advertise that it's within their service area.

I like the fact that I own the equpment, I.e. alarm key pad, computer and quot; brains of the alarmand quot;, motion sensor, etc. and I feel the prices for that equipment are very reasonable, for both my home and for my business. and I think the equipment is good quality and lasts a long time. When it does wear out (I've replaced 1 keyboard in 10 years), it is reasonably priced for the replacement part as well as the installation. And as a result, the cost for monitoring is extremely reasonable, I believe it's $15/month. It gives me tremendous peace of mind knowing I am safe at home. And I have to know that my clients confidential information and my business records are safe at my office. And I trust them. That makes it well worth the small price for safety and I certainly have that. I believe they are a family business, And I believe that the same people have worked there for years. That's great for me: no turnover of employees. The same knowledgable people answering their phone for 10 years and the same bookeeper billing me and the same techs making service calls. They are experts and are not learning on the job - at my expense. And they know my house, they know my office, they know me, so they can give me advice and options that are the best for my situation.

I used them for installation and now also pay a monthly monitoring fee. They are very professional and know exactly what they are doing. They went over all their options to with me and made recommendations based on what I was looking for. I was very happy with it and they have been a great service to work with ever since.

We bought a house last year that had an old Ademco security system installed and powered up but not connected to an external security service. Yesterday the system started emitting a fast chirping. We had no key code for the system, no manual to explain how to operate it, and no physical key for master control box. We called PSA, and a tech came over. He explained what was going on (the battery in the control box was dying) and disabled the system free of charge. I would definitely use PSA for future security system work.

Prompt, good communication, entirely professional. Would use again. PS Alarm is a family business located in Seattle area. Strong refs. Chose them in part because they are local and don't use subs, thus would likely respond quickly if needed again. We already had a working wired-sensor alarm sys, wanted a few more sensors and monitoring (but have no landline svc). Tom C reviewed our home and did the estimate; his sons did the install. All went well. Install costs were probably similar to others' ; monitoring is slightly lower than others'. Excellent responsive install. Suggest you describe to Tom what you want and ask him to sketch options and prices, rather than Tom simply proposing a system for you.

Super responsive and on time. Monitoring per month is less expensive than some of the other larger companies, but the installation price was about the same, maybe a little less than the larger companies I've used in the past. Very nice people, they got the system set-up the first week we moved in and came out on a Saturday to orient me to the new system. I would recommend them without hesitation.

A smooth transaction once I got a call back from Tom. He explained what would work for my house and we discussed some extra things I wanted to include. A team of three installers showed up and went right to work. The install went smoothly and I'm very pleased with the end result.

They did an excellent job over 3 stories. I pay $82.50 for quarterly monitoring.

They never responded after two attempts to for them to contact me.

After thinking about having an alarm installed for some time I decided to start getting quotes. My motivators were the safety of my wife and newborn son, the safety of my two dogs that are left home by themselves from time to time, and just an overall peace-of-mind when hearing noises in the night and leaving on vacation. I started by looking at national carriers such as ADT/Brinks but the sales pitch was just too much for me, I was treated like I was a complete idiot and they were doing me a favor by showing up and providing me a quote. I looked to angieslist and found Puget Sound Alarm and put a call into them. Tom (he is co-owner with his brother) called me back and gave me a quote over the phone. It was very apparent that there was a reason he had been in business since 1968... he knew what he was talking about, reassured my concerns, and applied no pressure. I called him back a few hours later and set the appointment for the install. What I liked about Puget Sound Alarm was that the system was mine... I didn't lease it, have to sign a contract, in fact I didn't even have to have it monitored if I didn't want to. They're monitoring service was less than the others at $26.99 a month and was a cellular connection so I didn't need a landline. It was a family business... Tom and his brother owned it, his wife answered the phones, and his two kids helped do the install. No subcontractors. Had a great angieslist ranking. The day of the install they showed up on time and reviewed what they intended to do. Tom and I tweaked the system at that point and added a few things such as the keyfob remote controls that my wife really wanted. He had all the materials on his truck and didn't need to run back to get anything even with my requested changes. The install went smooth and they were done about an hour before anticipated. They cleaned up behind themselves and took the time to teach me how to use the system (which was really easy) and were on their way. All wires were neatly ran, the wireless window sensors (which I was concerned would look bad) were barely noticeable and about the size of a AAA battery, the "chime" function that sounds a couple of beeps when a door or window is opened is really handy especially as my son grows older. The monitored smoke detector as mentioned earlier was a contributing factor in deciding to get the system as our two dogs are home by themselves some of the time and if there was a fire it would take a while before someone noticed and called the fire department. With the monitored smoke detector when it detects smoke it sends a signal to the monitoring station and they dispatch the fire department... a big peace of mind for me when it comes to my beloved dogs. Overall I am very happy with Puget Sound Alarm and would recommend them to anyone considering an alarm.

We had a contractor special in our new home, wired doors, motion sensors, etc but no sensors on the windows. Tim and his crew (mostly his sons) provided a quote over the phone and were spot on with the work. They installed everything we had discussed and everything has been working great. About a week later, my 3 year-old son climbed up and hit the keypad, sending off a panic signal to the service, generally they will call the police immediately, but since our system was new they called first, and I'm glad they did.

I went with them as I wanted someone local and they were very responsive as well.

My experience with the company was great from the beginning. I contacted a couple other alarm companies and I had one other bid come out. Working with Tom and the folks at Puget Sound Alarm (all his family) were by far the best choice. I felt completely comfortable with them in my home. They were prompt, got the job done fast and were very professional about the work. Tom was very helpful with some tips about our new home. After the alarm system was installed I had a couple of false alarms, and some questions later on about the alarm system, but the company has been great to work with.
