They were very good. it came in a little higher than what we anticipated. That;s the only hiccup. Overall, they were very good company.

Similar to the other reviews on Yelp. This company does not want your business. They scheduled an initial wish list meeting with me at my house. Prior to the meeting they gathered my project budget and asked what I did for a living. I think the only reason they stopped by my house was to size me up and to see how much money they could extract from me. The didn't follow-up after the meeting and I never got the sense they wanted my business. They also want you to pay them for their estimates. I can understand if I pay for a design or other project deliverable but I'm not inclined to pay for a rough order or magnitude estimate that's only valid with them. Overall, I was very disappointed with this company.

This business does not want your business. They wasted my time playing phone tag and then after days of trying to communicate and several conversations they informed me that my project was not "high-end" enough for them, which is interesting as it would have been an extensive remodel. They determined this by pushing me to give a budget range to THEM over the phone without them ever actually LOOKING at the place despite the fact that I said the budget was flexible and we were soliciting bids from multiple companies to develop a fair range for cost. We did have an initial budget in mind but we specified that we intended to remodel no matter what and if the bids all came in at a higher range that we would adjust our budget accordingly. Additionally, when I started arguing with the fellow that there is no way small kitchens and large kitchens cost the same amount, so how could he be sure of the exact number, that's when he started telling me that they don't service "that end of the market." Incredibly unprofessional and arrogant. If they had limitations on the kinds of projects they take on based on the amount of money they can squeeze out of the homeowner without even looking at the project site to get even the roughest estimate, then they should have mentioned that up front instead of 3 calls later and me giving them all my information and trying to set up an appointment.

We used potter construction small job service to install a new under stairs 'hidden closet. Job was relatively simple and took approximately 4 hours of construction time and 2 hours of materials time. Carpenter was very professional, did an excellent job with the finish work and cleaned up after job was complete. We did not use them to finish the inside or to paint as the hourly cost for work we could perform was a little higher than desired (didn't want to pay finish carpenter rate for painting).

It went terrible. Having met with several contractors, and growing up in a construction family, I find it hard to believe that they could stay in business this way. If you didn't want the work, don't bother asking for my plans and then taking my time.

The appointment was made in early January, 2014. I got an e mail two days before the appointment cancelling the appointment as they are not estimating or taking any new jobs for 2014.

We would highly recommend Potter Construction. They did an excellent job on our bathroom remodel from start to finish. The staff was great to work with and very responsive to our requests and questions. They do high quality work and only employ subcontractors that meet their standards. They aim to please and are very customer service oriented.

He did a very good job and they made sure that everything's all right. They always call if they can't make it today or tomorrow. They have weekly meetings if there are problems and if there are things to be talked about. They also have reasonable price.

Gary and the Potter Construction team did our basement remodel in the summer of 2012. They did a fantastic job, from earthquake proofing to a guest bedroom, bathroom, wet bar area and playroom their quality is top notch and the project lead (Harry) is outstanding. Weekly meetings with Gary the owner, and the project lead were very helpful in knowing where the project was at. They guarantee all of their work, and do a detailed punch list walk through at the completion of the job. We will use them for all of our home projects!

.The Potter Construction Company is a team of professionals who strive for excellence. Their company included a designer and helped us plan our project. The foreman of our project (Karl Coy) and Gary Potter met with us regularly throughout the project so that they stayed on track. The job included changing and replacing old plumbing throughout the house including under the basement floor, electrical work, tile work, and buying and installing appliances. Their company got all the permits for each part of the job. My experience was fine. They were good. I decided not to go with them because I got a better deal with someone else. I will use the company in future.

overall the work was performed well. Installers were very professional. The linoleum, base, vanity and vanity top along with the plumbing/hardware and electrical were well done. My problem is the shower walls are not flat. The back wall is bowed approx 1/4 in into the shower starting from about the middle of the wall down. The other wall has concave points such that when the shower doors went in we had a 1/4 in gap between the shower door and the wall. The shower enclosure was taken down to the studs and new green sheet rock installed so the opportunity to was there to fix any issues. Current status: 03/01/2013 Cultured Marble shower cap coming loose from ceiling. Current gap is approx 1/4 inch.

Sarah showed up promptly and took on a very difficult project with no complaints. (We heard some from others.) She has great problem solving skills, a can-do approach and a good eye for design. She was thorough and accurate and helped us see where our choices were to manage costs. Working with her was a wonderful experience.

We were very happy with them keeping to the schedule that they had committed to and the quality of the work was good.

I would not hesitate to recommend Potter Construction. There is no doubt the quality of their commitment and work is superior to my former contractor.

They have a handyman division that does smaller jobs. We called them on a referral from another company. Several other companies would not return our calls. When I called to make the appointment, they answered the phone. They did a wonderful job. Our job was not too small for them. When they were done, you could not see where any holes were the walls.

This was an example of how a remodel should go. There was clear and consistent communication from the project manager throughout the job. They managed the subcontractors and coordinated all work so there was no time lost or wasted. One phase of the job moved smoothly to the next. The work included demolition of existing floors and some kitchen and bathroom facilities. We didn't do any structural changes; just refurbished the existing interior. Work included plumbing, carpentry, flooring, painting, cabinets, counters and electrical. Two exterior doors had water damage including some exterior structure, so they were replaced and the structure repaired (minor damage, fortunately). The original estimate was completion in 6 weeks and everything but a shipment damaged under counter LCD light is complete at the end of 7 weeks. The flooring subcontractor under estimated the amount of flooring, so that created the delay beyond the original end date. We also increased the scope of the job considerably, so the work done in 7 weeks is considerable. We lived in the house throughout the remodel. They cleaned up the job every day at the end of the work day and did everything they could to make it more bearable for us. We always had the stove, dishwasher and refrigerator, even though we didn't have a kitchen sink for a couple of weeks. All of the workers were courteous and professional. We are very satisfied with the finished product. The workmanship is all excellent. The materials are first rate. The fit and finish of all work is outstanding. Our home's interior is like new. After hearing many horror stories of remodeling efforts that went bad, we are delighted with how our job went. Potter Construction made sure that the job and results exceeded our expectations.

We were going to do framing, windows, kitchen, plumbing, and electrical work. We basically were going to blow the whole back half of the house and add square footage. The changes were going to be very structural. We didn't ultimately choose them. They were part of the bid process. All the 3 companies we used in the bid process were from the Seattle home show. They were very professional. The one thing that was weird and that worked against them was that the person that was assigned to us ended up leaving mid-bid and they didn't pick up the ball for him. About two weeks later, a guy gave it a shot and came by to meet us along with the architect. Eventually about a week after that, they called to say that they were pulling out of the bid. They were probably going through some internal issues at that time. They were reputable, but ultimately my experience was that I not that impressed. If they were going to let an employee go, they should have picked up his slack. Maybe they would have been the best one, but they were not able to pick up his slack. The other thing about them was that at that time they were pushing more of the design angle. They wanted to do the design and it was almost like do the design first and talk about the price later, whereas we were looking more for a structural change. We wanted to choose cabinets and tiles before actually installing them to try minimizing the task. We were letting them know that we didn't need them to design because we had our own architect. But it was almost like they were not listening to that, adding the fees in. They were a solid good company, but they weren't that impressive. I would use them in the future just to see if they maybe have their personnel thing a little tighter than it was. If I was doing a bid with 3 or 4 companies, I would include them.

We had found them at a home show. We spoke with the owner and his designer. We felt that Mr. Potter is committed to quality. We met with a couple of contractors and felt their bids were too vague or high. Mr Potter gave us a good bid. We spent a lot of time with their designer and they were willing to design it to our wants and needs. They were flexible and diligent. The virtual walk-through program is the tool that made this project run smoothly. The knowledge and the professionalism of the designer made it easy to work with them and the addition turned out better that expected. Their on-site carpenter was amazing. He made critical suggestions and he is an excellent listener. He was always concerned about what I had to say and came back with excellent results. He oversaw the project effectively and efficiently.

The project went very well indeed, with only one minor glitch that we will be able to live with. The people were super to work with, kept the premises very clean during the whole process, did the work on time, even finished it well ahead of schedule. They kept us apprised of the schedule, what was expected of us, what we could expect of them. There were no surprises, except how great it looked when they were finished.
