Wally, was very friendly and easy to work with. He came to my house many times to make sure that the fit was just right. I had an excellent experience working with him. He delivered on time.

Wally did a great job helping me finalize the cabinet design and did an absolutely beautiful job of manufacturing it of red oak. It looks wonderful.

Wally is an exquisite and meticulous craftsman who likes a challenge and who takes pride in the quality of his work. He took on the "assignment" of matching new cabinetry to our existing 1962 cabinetry which has coved drawers - definitely not the easiest thing to do! He successfully matched the grain of the wood and the stain. We couldn't be happier with the results and would highly recommend Wally and Pioneer Woodworks to anyone needing a skilled craftsman for a project!

We had new cabinets made by Pioneer Woodworks and were very pleased with the outcome. Working with Wally was refreshing. He was professional, easy to work with and committed to giving us what we wanted. Our only disappointment was in the contractor he referred us to. We had a poor experience with this contractor, Isha Hoffman Construction. We had a problem with billing practices and quality of workmanship on our project. We could not recommend this contractor to others. However, we can wholeheartedly and without qualification recommend Wally and Pioneer Woodworks.

I needed a kitchen drawer repaired, so I called Pioneer Woodworks and arranged to drop off the drawer. I took the drawer in, got a quote for the services and a pick-up date. Everything was done on time and at the quoted price. Very professional service. It's an old-school shop with amazing, detailed craftsmanship that's rare these days.

Cabinets were done with precision and on time. Our contractor simply gave them the diagram and they built them exactly correct. The finish was beautiful and has lasted for years. Later we added another cabinet and they matched it perfectly. The beautiful kitchen helped sell our home quickly..

We chose Pioneer based on Angie's list reviews and glad we did! He was prompt in getting us an estimate based on specs we provided via email. He was very competitive for custom cabinets. We had a tight timeline to get them installed before painting, and it took some comminication to make sure that would happen, but Wally delivered and the cabinets exceeded our expectations. His attention to detail was incredible, and he dealt with difficulties in our walls not being square without a problem. I would consider getting an estimate from him for kitchen cabinets someday.

We played phone tag for a while at first, but I was really happy that I stuck with it and decided to hire Wally. He took the time to really understand what I wanted, was very professional, and the workmanship is top notch.

The project went very well from start to finish. Wally always showed up on time and was professional during every encounter. He clearly knows his craft and made excellent recommendations. When challenges occurred during the process (like matching the stain for the cabinets) he was tenacious in his approach to get it right. Wally did the work quickly, within the bid and at the highest quality. My expectations were exceeded on every front (and that's not easy to do!).

After contacting Pioneer Woodworks and talking to Wally about what I wanted done, I brought the entertainment center into his shop. He initally told me it would take about a week to do. It only took 3 days and he turned the entertainment center into a quite nice and functional linen chest. My wife and I were very pleased with the outcome. Instead of trying to sell the old piece, we kept a piece of furniture that coordinated with other pieces we had and made it more functional for our purposes. I wouldn't hesitate to go back to Pioneer Woodworks for any other projects I might have.

They gave us a good estimate but we decided to go with another company. We think they quoted us $17000. We thought they were very efficient with doing the quote. It was just a preliminary thing and they did it right there at the store. They were really quick and very professional. They did a nice quick estimate for us. We tried several different companies and we actually picked one to do our cabinets. We’re not going to go with Pioneer Woodworks but it’s not really their fault. It’s just that we found another place that we liked a little better.

We needed to have a wall cabinet resized so that we could fit a larger refrigerator underneath. I removed the cabinet from the wall myself and brought it in, where Wally was able to resize it for me in his shop. The results were perfect: it's exactly the size that I asked for, and everything else about the cabinet looks like it was never even touched. The price ended up being about 25% of the quote that I got from another provider to come out to the house and perform the work there. I'd definitely use Pioneer Woodworks again.

After buying a new double wall-oven, I needed a couple of existing cabinet doors modified and was told by several cabinet shops that it couldn't be done, that the only option was new doors. So, after wasting money ordering new doors from the cabinet manufacturer (the stain was way off and didn’t match at all), I found Pioneer Woodworks on the List and called. Wally said he’d take a look at the doors, so I brought them in to his shop. He not only was able to shorten the doors, but came up with a way to attach them to an existing pull-out shelf and did it beautifully. Even though this was a very small job, he treated me like I was his most important customer. Wally clearly takes pride in his work and his customer service is exemplary.

Everything went perfectly. We were undergoing a remodel and this was one piece that went without a hitch. We wish we would have looked to him for building our kitchen cabinets.

It went brilliantly. Wally is a wonder. (No, I'm not related to him, and had never met him before I first interviewed him for this job.) He worked from our designer's basic plans, his own measurments, and several design sessions with me. The cabinets look gorgeous, are made of very good materials, VG fir and cherry, and function beautifully. He got the whole job done well before we were ready for installation. He stayed calm and quiet when all around him were crazed. The price of custom cabinetry isn't cheap, but it compares well with the better large manufacturers' top of the line models, and you can "customize" to your heart's content without financial penalty or being told "sorry, we just don't do that". Not only WOULD I work with Wally again, I'm going to for our next building project, which is now in the design stages. This was a terrific experience.

First of all, no one else I contacted was even interested in doing this project (too small perhaps?). Wally spent a lot of time with me on several occasions figuring out how to build these odd pieces. He doesn't come to your house to look at the space or take measurements, which complicates the process and requires that you know what you want and be able to provide accurate measurements along with photos and drawings. He also doesn't offer much input on design. I came up with most of the ideas and he would tell me if it was doable. My requirements kept changing along the way and he was always able to roll with it. At some points I wasn't sure he knew exactly what I wanted, but in the end the pieces he built are high quality and a perfect match to the existing cabinets. In fact they're better than the originals. One more thing: he doesn't install cabinets so that part is up to you too. A nice guy, very laid back. As long as you know what you want and aren't looking for a designer or installer he can build it.

I called to get an estimate for a new cabinet to go around a front loading washer/dryer. The person that I spoke with told me that they don't do free estimates. I would have to take pictures and "make up a sketch of what I want" and send them over to them to consider them. Seems like a lot of work. Maybe they don't need more work than they have, but I wouldn't feel comfortable hiring someone who had never seen the work that I want done in my house. Also, they don't paint cabinets. It was a pretty rambling conversation about everything they don't do, and how expensive it would all be. Everything here seemed like a bigger hassle than it could be worth, but as you can guess, I didn't hire them, so I can't speak for the quality of the finished work.

The entire experience was wonderful. Wally, the owner, ensured that everything went smoothly from start to finish. He returned telephone calls promptly. The work was completed on time, and the end product was of superior quality. We would definitely recommend this company for anyone wanting custom cabinets or shelving for their home. If we were designing a kitchen from scratch, we would have them make the cabinets.

THE EXPERIENCE WAS GOOD. THEY WERE PROMPT AND USED GLUE TO PUT IT BACK TOGETHER, FAMILY OWNED AND BEEN IN BUSINESS SINCE 1976. THEY HAVE A GOOD REPUTATION AND WE LIKED IT.
