Piece of Cake Painting is simply the best. The painters Raphael and Jose did an excellent job painting the exterior of our home and our, our garden shed, and our substantial amount of fencing. We are exceptionally detail oriented and Raphael and Jose met all of our rather picky expectations. Both Raphael and Jose stayed late and worked some weekend time to keep things on schedule (due to some unexpected bad weather,) and to make sure everything was done just the way we wanted. The results really speak for themselves; we just love the new look of our house! Everyone was also very professional, on time, and great to work with. The owner Mike Bloom arrived on time to assess the job and he provided a bid the next day. I signed the bid and that reserved my place on the schedule. About a week before the scheduled start Mike got in touch to get paint colors and begin the process. Before anyone painted anything Mike, Raphael, Jose and I did a complete walk through of the job to look at all the details and make sure we were all on the same page with what would be done. Piece of Cake will always be our first call for all of our painting needs.

Perfect - complete dust control and cleanup.

The job took about two weeks plus a few day for pressure washing and drying time. The first week was devoted to extensive prep that included sanding, scraping and careful taping. The second week was devoted to priming and application of two coats of body and trim paint. We were very satisfied with the final result and the old house has never looked better. The crew worked hard and skillfully under the direction of Jose and Rafael. As a result the team worked efficiently together and despite the heat seemed to enjoyed themselves in the process. More important perhaps was the ability of the manager and team lead to interact with me the client; both proved to be able listeners and my day-to-day contact Rafael was a skilled communicator and possesses a natural ability to put his clients at ease. I would unequivocally recommend Piece of Cake Painting should these employees be still engaged with the company.

The half bath turned out well, as did most of the kitchen. There was a small amount of wall damage on one wall that we didn't see until after the painters left. Also: although the cork floor was covered with cardboard the ladders and other tools scuffed and damaged our cork floors.

Mike was great. He worked with me to figure out a plan for the paint and repairs that needed to be done. He and his team were responsive, professional and patient as we figured out colors and how everything was going to work on the house. We LOVE the results. Thank you Mike and your great team!

Great...We went over everything on the phone, so as not to have any glitches, and it worked out fine.

Piece of Cake painting did not come to look at the job until the day the work was scheduled. At that point they told me it would be a one day job. They sized and scoped the work themselves, in person and on site. But at the end of the day they were only half done -- there was a lot of wasted time. I had to schedule another day, after which they came back with an inflated amount they expected me to pay over and above the Angie's List deal. I made a counter offer for a reasonable amount but Michael, the owner, told me he would collect his desired amount and nothing less. I refused to pay the inflated amount, and so Piece of Cake took me to Small Claims court. The judge there settled the case for a more reasonable amount then the total Piece of Cake had filed for. If Michael at Piece of Cake checks, he will find that the amount he “won” in court was the same reasonable amount (to the penny!) that I had originally offered for the extra days work, plus his fee to serve the court notice. So he didn’t really “win” anything, the judge simply agreed with my estimate of a reasonable amount. And of course he wasted my time and his sitting in court. This is all a public record now so you can probably get the transcript if you'd like to get a sense of what it is like with this company. (It is interesting because the judge asked him to reveal the amount he pays the painters on his staff.) Oh, and at the end of the hearing Michael tried to get the judge to issue a gag order so I couldn't post this review. Thankfully the judge was aware of the first amendment and refused. And by the way, like some of the other posters here the paint is already starting to chip and peel, not even six months later. I strongly advise finding some other painting service. P.S. I see Michael has added his comment that he “won” the case and that I am misrepresenting what happened. Again, read the above and if really curious get the court transcript – that’s all I can say! I wonder how many more of his future customers will end up being “poor customers” like me?

I have already given a review of our terrible experience with this company but I felt I needed to update that its hasn't even been a year and the painting we had done on our windowsill is already chipping in some areas and so is some of the paint on both exterior doors. Please save yourself a lot of wasted time money and read through the other negative reviews- this guy is combative, argumentative and always has an excuse for a job not well done.

The painter Jose was amazing- very neat and tidy and exacting in his painting. He even put up new curtain rods for me when the room was done- and it was perfect! My suggestions for improvements are minor....this company as well as others I used in my "Angie's List Specials" spree complained about how little money they make on the "specials" and whine about it...I did not make them run a special- I am just a consumer who is looking for a great deal and maintain a budget as well as find new vendors to do other work on my house. The owner (Mike) had a contract I had to sign with specifics about how I would have to pay extra for tape, plastic roller brush cover and tax...it was minimal ($20) and also the tax had to be paid.. understandable...but a little bit of nickle and diming to make sure they made some money on the special- at any rate Jose was on time and did a stellar job with no re-work needed. I would use them again for sure, but they need to fix the oil leak on their truck, it was a mess all over my driveway- but luckily the power wash guy was coming the next day...

Did a great job, took 2 and a half days. Everything covered and taped. I needed this job done quickly because of my house being for sale and the open house coming. They got it done in less than a week.

They were very professional, took time to understand my needs. However, I chose a different company that had a really good Big Deal offering on Angie's List.

Mike, the owner fit me into his busy schedule even though I did not paid him in advance, he & his assistant did a great job double coating almost all the walls except the ceiling, I purchase the best paint from Sherwin Williams, the color turned out beautiful. I would highly recommend them.

Mike was fantastic. He came with a colleague and within 4 hours 3 rooms had their first layer of paint. Since we only hired Mike for 8 hours, he gave us an opportunity for them to stay against a fee and finish painting all 3 rooms. The rooms look amazing, so much lighter. He was very responsive, also prior to the day he came. He was punctual on the day, friendly and I would not hesitate 1 moment to call him if I need some more paintwork done. Honestly, I was hesitant (not for Mike) but we are from abroad and it was our first contractor experience in the US and Mike....you were amazing.

Work done was meticulous. I chose this provider because of the positive reviews. I'm definitely glad I did!

Mike did an amazing job with our old house that was built in the 1920's. Our house was painted with lead paint originally and it was chipping and pealing off. Mike and his team first spent a lot of time prepping our house. They put plastic up everywhere to make sure no lead paint dust escaped and our ground was protected. They then sanded down ALL of the exterior and used a hepa vacuum to make sure no lead particles escaped. Mike and his crew where there for a full week working. After the lead paint was removed, they then primed and painted our house. He also primed and painted three exterior doors (two entrance doors and our basement doors). The exterior of our house has been completely restored. Our deck was also falling apart. It had not been stained or painted in 15 years so it was very weathered, rough, and unusable. Mike and his team sanded down the deck and made it smooth again! They also did a good job applying the stain to the deck. Our deck once again is a useable space! Pros -Lots of time spent on prep work. -High quality work and no shortcuts were taken. -Great price -Very responsive to communication and came back out a year later when we noticed a spot we wanted touched up -Very friendly. -Cost of job did not change throughout the project. No cons! Piece of Cake Painting is our go to painting company for all of our painting needs now.

He was so meticulous, so fast and so pleasant to work with. I just think with that kind of work his business will just boom. I've already recommended him to so many people, but the problem is that all of them want the Angie's deal and apparently that's not available, because his price was unheard of. That price for a day for a professional painter was incredible. The funny thing was that the day he came he had the scaffolding up because we have these cathedral ceilings he was painting and the builders painter came in and said wow I like this guy this guy is awesome. He said he couldn't do a better job. It speaks volumes, the fact is he knew that we were in a time crunch and he stepped up when things came apart and he got things done for us. So, we are thoroughly appreciated and can only think of good things to say about him. He was meticulous, professional, there was not a drop of paint. He is awesome and absolutely great.

First of all to be clear, they do good work. I recommended him to a friend who used them for a few rooms inside his house and it looks very good. First time I used them last summer they were great and I felt the price was reasonable, so it pains me to write this review. This recent job, the estimate of time was overshot by 3-4x. He said 1 hour per window, 9 windows, I was charged 30 hours. They went overboard with the taping-my whole kitchen and bathroom was taped down completely. Mike explained that they had to contain the dust for lead paint. I had house tested inside and out when we first bought the house and came up negative. I told him this when he painted the outside but he never mentioned it as a process inside so we didn't talk about it until after I got the bill. I should of probably stopped or questioned the guys mid way through. Because we had a history I felt like I could trust the process, that is on me and lesson learned. Mike knocked 150 off the original bill of $1400 but had I know this was going to cost me $1250 I would of figured something else out.
