Description of Work: We actually Phinney Ridge to hang and manage the Christmas lights on our house. Setting up the service was easy and we were very, very pleased with the visits to our house. Some of the lights blew down in a storm and Phinney Ridge sent someone out quickly to rehang them. They were prompt and efficient both hanging and taking everything down. They rolled up the lights on spools for us and packed them neatly. I will definitely use them again and call them when we need painting services . They were great to work with.

Description of Work: Angie's list charged me for the service but no one, either from Phinney Ridge Painters or Angie's list has contacted me to schedule the service. It's been more than two weeks. What a ripoff!

SEVERAL DAYS BEFORE THIS CUSTOMER LEFT THIS REVIEW, I REACHED OUT TO HIM TO LET HIM KNOW WHAT OUR SITUATION WAS. HE REPLIED, UNDERSTANDING THAT ANGIE'S LIST DID NOT PROVIDE ANY INFO ABOUT HIS BACK LOG. WE THEN TRIED TO THE BEST OF OUR ABILITY TO GET HIM A BID (WHICH WAS NEAR IMPOSSIBLE BEING FULLY BOOKED AND AT THE END OF THE EXTERIOR SEASON). MY GENERAL MANAGER TOOK THE TIME TO GO OUT TO THE HOME, COLLECT NUMBERS TO PROVIDE HIM WITH A SUPPLEMENTARY ESTIMATE AS HIS SCOPE WAS MUCH MORE THAN COULD BE HANDLED ON ONE DAY, HOWEVER SAM WAS UNABLE TO GET THE BID OUT BEFORE HIS MUCH DESERVED VACATION. IT IS VERY DISAPPOINTING TO BE TREATED THIS WAY BY SUCH AN ENTITLED CUSTOMER. IT IS NOT OUR FAULT THEY DID NOT CONTACT US TO FIND OUT ABOUT OUR WOK LOAD AND AVAILABILITY PRIOR TO PURCHASING A DEAL FROM ANGIE'S LIST. ALL OF OUR OTHER CLIENT'S AT THE END OF THE SEASON KNOW WE ARE UNDER TREMENDOUS PRESSURE TO GET OUR 30 EMPLOYEES THROUGH ALL OF THEIR PREVIOUSLY SCHEDULED PROJECTS AND UNDERSTAND THAT THEIR NEW REQUESTS MADE IN SEPTEMBER AND OCTOBER OFTEN CANNOT BE STARTED UNTIL THE FOLLOWING SEASON I HAVE CUT AND PASTED THE EMAIL I SENT BELOW, HE UNDERSTOOD THE SITUATION AND THANKED ME FOR MY CANDOR BUT NEVERTHELESS HE CHOSE TO GIVE US AN F. VERY DISAPPOINTING. -------------- [Member name removed] I hate to be the bearer of bad news but I do not think two guys can get 30-40 window sills prepped and painted in one day. The other issue is that we are are booked 6-8 weeks on exteriors and 4-6 weeks on interiors. The one exception to this back log is with interior work or exterior work under cover that can be done when it is raining outside as we can always move resources around on rain days. Right now it is almost impossible to get any painter on short notice let alone a reputable one. I have told Angie's List that this is the case but they don't want to pull our offerings (likely for some internal accounting reason). I have also told them that they should direct the client to us to go over this prior to purchase or leave an indication on the website that this is peak season and these deals may not be immediately available but I think they are more interested in capturing the revenue generated by these deals whether they result in positive outcomes or not. I called my rep today and she has cancelled all exterior eCommerce deals until next season to avoid this issue but we will do our best to get this done for you. We have had several A.L. customers purchase online deals as a way to try to work around the waits that most companies are dealing with at the moment, but we can't or won't compromise our relationships with existing customers who have been waiting their turn in our production queue for the betterment or enrichment of Angie's List (who already takes a ton of money from us). I am very sorry and wish I had better news for you! For now, let me know: 1.) Whether this work is located inside or outside (I am guessing outside since you mention ladders) and if outside how well covered these surfaces are. I tried to take a look on google maps but the view of the house seems to be obscured. 2.) Whether you would like to schedule a meeting with Sam my General Manager (copied) to figure out exactly what will go into this project in terms of labor hours and what type of materials will be needed. If this is going to require more than 16 labor hours we will apply what you have already purchased from A.L. to a new proposal and contract as a credit. Again, sorry I can't send someone over tomorrow and sorry I took so long to get to you. I hate to be unable to help everyone that reaches out to us, including you so I hope we can sort this all out and get you what you need! While we have doubled the size of our business in three consecutive years we still can't seem to keep up with demand or hire enough competent painters to help us get all the work done. To put it in perspective, I have had over 32 exterior estimate requests come in since close of business last Friday, the vast majority of which will get done next season. Hopefully we can squeeze you in but no promises until we have more info or can get eyes on your home. Sincerely, Nik

Description of Work: Pressure washed deck, front sidewalk, and driveway. That work was fine. However, a couple of days after the work, we discovered that they had pressure-washed our deck chairs, and the pressure of the spray cut the woven strands at the top of the back of one chair in a horizontal line. It cannot be repaired, so the chair is ruined and there is no way to replace it. We had NOT asked for anything to be done on our deck set. Based on the damage, there is no way that the workers did not know of the damage. We had asked that we be given an estimate on doing some painting in the future. Before we discovered the damage, I had even called the firm to ask about the bid. No response, and then we discovered why not. We have done our own pressure washing, and we know how careful you have to be. There us no excuse for this damage.

Description of Work: Just had the old knob and tube wiring replaced in the house which left 25 - 4" holes in the walls where they dropped the new wiring. Asked Sam at Phinney to come in and give an estimate to fix those, paint the entire first floor and also to refinish the white woodwork throughout the first floor. | |Sam and his crew were not the cheapest option of the 4 bids, but I felt comfortable with them based on the reviews here on Angies. I wasn't disappointed! They were excellent to work with - each day they showed up promptly at 8am and by 4:30 each day they had cleaned up for the day. Even when they did the master bedroom, I was able to sleep in the bed each night. | |1/2 way through the work (after seeing the way they approached the patching/fixes of older botched paint jobs) I asked them to also do the paint/woodwork of the second bathroom downstairs and to repaint around the entry to the house. It was fairly complex with about 12 different paint colors suggested by my interior decorator, plus the woodwork needed a lot of attention. | |In the end I was very very happy with the result. Looks amazing! Thanks to Sam and his crew, I HIGHLY recommend Phinney Ridge painting to anyone and especially to the ones that have a period home with lath/plaster!
