Pathway was referred to me by my structural engineer who designed the structural portion of the addition. Paul and Pathway was always prompt in responding and clear in communication. But when the design was completed and ready for construction bids, Pathway wanted me to sign agreement and pay $1000 retainer fee to provide me the proposal bid. I usually get 4 bids, and if every contractor wants $1000 for providing the proposal, I'd be out several grands before I even decide who to work with. I'm an investor and work with contractors regularly for projects large and small; it was the first time a contractor wanted me to sign agreement and pay retainer fee for a proposal, so I know that's not a common practice in the industry. I don't know why they chose to do that, but I didn't sign any agreements with them hence didn't get a bid from them either. The only reason I rated them a "C" in professionalism is for that reason - I don't think it's professional to be asking $1000 from a client to provide a bid. I would still consider working with them if they'd forgo such practice.
Description of Work: Adding walk-in closet (about 95-SF), and a deck, on upper floor, which entails reinforcing lower exterior wall for the increased support needs.

It was an absolute pleasure to work with Jeremiah. We were living in our home while the work took place and Jeremiah not only left the house clean and safe for our young children at the end of each day, but was also truly kind to our family. I hadn't considered the reality of having people being in our house while we were at work all day or getting started before we'd even woken up. We really felt comfortable with Jeremiah and trusted his supervision of subcontractors. Our three year old daughter drew him a picture he graciously accepted and she was thrilled to get a photo of it hanging above his motorcycle at home. We all missed having him around when the project was finished. Mike and Jeremiah gave us ample time to think about and discuss the decisions we needed to make along the way. They prompted us to begin thinking about things well before they needed a decision to be made. Jeremiah would leave mock-ups and drawings for us to consider over time so we could explore possibilities without feeling rushed. All of our questions and ideas were considered and discussed to our satisfaction. Jeremiah also seemed to enjoy sharing his knowledge with us so we felt informed and capable of making educated decisions. This level of communication and management meant that we didn't hold up the project trying to make decisions, we're happy with the decisions that we made, and we truly enjoyed the entire process.
Description of Work: Pathway remodeled our kitchen on a tight time frame. They took down a wall, opened another, laid hardwood flooring, installed new cabinets and butcher block floating shelves.

Description of Work: Pathway did a huge renovation on our house, which included: Adding a new bedroom; adding a dining room; adding a small back porch; replacing our roof; energy efficiency upgrades throughout; a new carport; and adding a pantry. While their estimates were higher than others, I feel confident that they were simply more accurate (and erring on the conservative side), as later proved to be the case. Both Mike, Paul and the rest of the team were easy to work with; extremely clear in their communications; helpful and non-intimidating when hard decisions needed to be made; hired and worked with great subcontractors; dedicated to quality work; and simply made the whole process as painless as they possibly could. | |We decided to live in the house while this work was being done and they were all extremely accommodating of our schedules and careful not to put us out in any way (unless there was no other choice-- in which case, they gave us plenty of warning). | |Additionally, they take full precautions with dust, hazardous materials, and protecting existing landscaping... often leaving the house in better shape than we did. | |Any time there was a problem, I got an immediate response and the issue was handled immediately and they would ensure that it was handled to my satisfaction. | |I highly recommend Pathway Design and Construction. They were a joy to work with and a huge piece of mind throughout this huge project.

Whenever I have a problem, I consult Pathway and they are great. I can't say enough good things about Pathway. Once they do the service, one becomes a part of their family. If they have a problem and even if they are not going to have one, they will refer them to somebody that is reputable and does clean construction. I feel safe with them. They remodeled my bathroom to make it amenable for disability. They did a wonderful job. They actually saved me money on what I originally wanted to put in. They found the same thing at a cheaper price and they did the whole work. I was so satisfied with that that I had them come back and do my whole kitchen. They did the plumbing, electrical and everything. They did a beautiful job. I had a problem with what a couple of sub contractors had done and Pathway stepped in and made them correct it. There's absolutely no stress, no pressure as they stand behind what they do. They give a time line that's needed and they work with me. Since I am a female, I am particularly sensitive to people that I contract with who tend to talk me around. Not only that, they told me to put a vapor barrier up in my house so that no debris, no bad air, no dust or nothing got from the work site into the rest of the house. Their price was more than fair for the quality that I had. When people walk into my house and look at the kitchen they tell me how gorgeous it is. They were punctual as they said they were going to be here at 8 everyday and they were here. If I need anything I would call them, I probably wouldn't even check anybody else.
Description of Work: I used the services of Pathway Design & Construction in September.

Pathway sealed off each area completely to prevent dust and contaminants from escaping into other areas of the house. The crews were professional, friendly and courteous. They took pride in their work. The crews were ALWAYS on time. Pathway prepared a job plan that included a time line. I received regular updates from Pathway on the progress of both projects and was immediately advised if a problem arose. They worked with me to make sure that my vision was emodied in the finished project. Pathway does not sacrifice quality, or their eco friendly 'green' construction methods to save money or time. They are experts in 'aging in place' remodeling; doing remodel planning with an eye to future needs. They also prepared for me a homeowners manual that organizes all the information on the remodel, the appliances, warrenties, everything I would need all in a binder. Since that time, I have turned to Pathway for information on landscape remodelers, roofing companies, etc and they are wonderful about providing me with information and referrals. I felt comfortable with their crews and had no problem with their access to my home to work while I wasn't there. They are committed to their mission. They are leading the pack in eco friendly green remodels and construction. I don't think it's possible to find a better company..Pathway is as good as it gets.
Description of Work: Pathway designed and remodeled the bathroom and installed a walkin tub, new lighting, new vanity and basin and new toilet, grab bar and new flooring. Pathway designed a full kitchen remodel and completed that work by the end of June. That included all new appliances, new llghting, new cabinets and new flooring. As well as new plumbing and new electrical. Both jobs entailed a complete gutting of the existing rooms and a complete 'green' rebuild.
