I call them my dream-team. It is a very large task and they do an incredible job in a short period of time - what they do on one visit would take me weeks to do. They come every 2 weeks, and I spend $150 every time they come. I?m sure that their price is really good. Karen is very good. She knows what would be the best product to use on a specific area. I have truly gotten to know these people very well over a year, and I really like them a lot. I even take a break with them. They actually need to work for an hour and a half but they are often here for 2 hours. Their attitude is very good in terms of wanting to do a really good job. I would rate them highly and would continue to use them in the future. I usually give them gifts at the end of the year; this year I think I might even take them all out to lunch.
Description of Work: I have been using Organization Lady for housecleaning since July of 2008. Karen Avinger comes with 2 other people, Maggie and Brian. I have 2 kitchens in this house and 3 bathrooms. Maggie does the kitchens, sinks, toilets, showers, bathtubs and all of that while Brian vacuums the place. I have 2 cats that have long hair. He gets all the floors done, including mopping of floors that are not carpeted. He also takes care of a sofa and vacuums all the cushions. I have thousands of objects, and Karen proceeds to dust the entire house. I have special requests too. From now until next summer, we intend to choose one antique piece of furniture to moisturize it or to put something in it to make sure that the wood isn’t drying out.

Karen was very responsive and helpful over the phone. Her crew of four came a bit late, but she called to tell me so. On arrival, she asked me how long I thought it would take the first day. I wasn't the experienced cleaner and didn't know. She said they'd bring all supplies except a mop, but then asked for a few more things from me. The deep clean was not deep, but cursory. There is still construction dust under the TV stand(visible from the sofa) and on many furniture legs, etc. The floors were filthy after they mopped, as they used the same dirty water for all the rooms and quickly were spreading construction-grade dirt over all floors. Windows not washed, though I'd asked about that. Dishes with soap left visibly on the first visit and dirty the next. The few things they did that remotely qualified as "deep" were things I pointed out. Soot left on the carpet after I asked the fireplace screen to be cleaned.
Description of Work: I hired this company to do a deep cleaning at the end of a construction project in my home, then to continue routine cleaning every other week. My house is about 1,100 square feet.

She comes in with three people and then about an hour and half later the 3000 sq foot area is cleaned. They really know what they are doing.
Description of Work: When I moved into the house it wasn't cleaned like it should have been it was such a nightmare, she took care of that. Now she does the normal cleaning.

Karen, the Organization Lady, has been very easy to deal with from the beginning, very down to earth. Although she does do organization for people, I only need her for housecleaning. She returned my call quickly, asked about numbers of rooms, etc. and gave me a price and day of the week right then. She and her team come twice a month for one hour while my husband works at his computer. They even good- naturally waited for him to finish a conference call to vacuum around him! The person doing the bathroom does an especially nice job; everything just gleams. Karen really aims to please. She originally wanted to use her own vacuum, but when I told her my canister does a better job, she said "OK, I'll use it." It's pretty hard to make my old kitchen floor look good, but when I said it could be done better after the first visit and got them a better mop, it's been looking much better. The counters and stovetop are beautifully clean when I come home, and dusting is very well done. Since we're having some remodeling done on another bath and bedroom, the time and cost will probably go up by a half hour, but I think her $25/hour for 4 people is reasonable. I told Karen about a bad experience I had with someone I tried last Spring who never got to all the cleaning because she was more interested in "reorganizing" my kitchen, cleaning the bird feeder outside (!), etc., at $30/hour and 4 hour minimum; we had to spend time finding all of our relocated items, and this woman was very obstinate to deal with. Karen said she certainly wouldn't do that, and has really done what's been requested. We are very happy and plan on using them from now on. We've had them 4 times now, and only once was 20 minutes late.
Description of Work: Clean our home's 3 bedrooms, 1 bath, huge living/dining/kitchen area for 1 hour, for the price of $105.

Overall, her team was good. They were fast, and indeed, she promised that they would be in and out within 1.5 hours. Our house is quite big, and as a result, some things were missed. For example, a 4'x4' section of the kitchen floor was not swept or mopped (I did not notice that until they had left). During the final walk-through, I noticed a lot of dust on the dining room table. When I asked about it, they said it was dust that had already settled, after they vacuumed. It might be just me, but they acted surprised that I had asked about it and asked them to re-dust it. I might possibly use them again but I know better my expectations.
Description of Work: House cleaning, about 8 or so months ago (so the cost I put above is +/- that ... I cannot recall exactly).

I am not going to be having her back. The employees come in for 100 dollars an hour. One person does windows, another does floors, and another does kitchen, etc. They were in and out very quickly. However, I do feel that they are in and out a little too quickly. Yesterday, she was here for 48 minutes and not an hour. There were things I asked them to do that did not get done. I went to check my bathroom and there is still some dust where the shower door meets the tub, and they were in the bathroom for almost an hour by herself. The detail work is not very good. When they were here the previous week, they said they were going to be here at 1 PM. I returned home from my errands at 12:51 PM and they were here waiting. They specifically told me 1 PM. They stayed and cleaned approximately 30 minutes last time. She said they were here for an hour, however, they only cleaned for 30 minutes. When I came home the last time, I made certain to be back no later than 12:30 PM. When I got home I found a voicemail saying that they were not going to be here until 2:00 PM. I have a small child, and I made it very clear that I didn't want them using toxic cleaners. I provided them with environmentally safe cleaners and asked them exactly what they needed so I could provide it for them. They've been cleaning with their cleaners and then spraying my cleaners on top to make it smell differently. Yesterday, I saw her using Clorox on my counter and I specifically asked them not to use those cleaners.
Description of Work: She has come to clean our home 3 times now.

I really like the fact that Karen and her crew (total of 4 people) are able to clean my whole house in 1 hour! Before Karen, I had one person who was here 4 hours and that was inconvenient because I work from home and didn't want the noise and distraction going on for so long. She arrives right on time (a must with my telecommuting schedule) and the crew spreads out to work their designated areas. She is happy to get direction about how you like certain areas cleaned. It is the same group of people each time for consistency. All her staff speak English so we don't have any trouble communicating. She cleans our house every other week and I am very happy with the quality - the bathrooms are sparkling. Her crew is careful to dodge our inquisitive kitties. An added bonus is that her price was the lowest of the three I obtained! She has been cleaning our house for several months now.
Description of Work: Full cleaning of 2600 sf house every other week. We have two adults and two cats living in the house.

When she came I went through the house with her to tell her what I wanted done. I stressed several times that I wanted a spring cleaning, and made sure she understood what I wanted. When we were done she asked for $25.00 more than what she estimated on the phone. I had no problem with that since we have a big house. There were four people cleaning. I thought that they rushed through the job and missed several things that should have been done that weren't. There was dust left in several rooms. The outside oven door still had dust and grease on the ledges of the door. I specifically asked that the floor under my bed cleaned, this was not done. No light switch plates were cleaned, the windows they washed were not clean, etc. I would have been happy to pay a little more and have them slow down. Next I guess I need to make it clearer what I expect Spring cleaning to mean. I would not hire these people again.
Description of Work: I asked for her to come over and do a spring cleaning in my house. She said she did that and I hired her.

Karen & crew come in and quickly/efficiently clean. They definitely have a system that makes the work go fast & yet results in a very clean home. They will clean areas of special concern if and as requested without cleaning areas that don't really need it but can drive up the cost of cleaning! In addition, they are all quite nice & professional; a nice plus!

I called Karen, who gave me a phone estimate, based on the size, number of baths and number of pets in our home. The crew showed up on time and ready to work. We didn't have everything cleared away for them, but they asked where they should put things and cleaned around other things. They ended up not cleaning about 800 of our 3,000 square feet that was originally promised over the phone, but our dogs are old and our basement was more cluttered than you can tell over the phone (not their fault). We chose not to pay extra to have them clean the basement, which is why I said higher than original estimate. We actually lowered the amount of space for them to clean.
Description of Work: Did a top to bottom housecleaning of our 3,000 square foot home. They sent a crew of four people, who were prompt and polite, and cleaned our home like a white tornado, beautiful and sparkling, in less than two hours. We liked that since they had so many people working at once, we didn't have to wait around for hours like with a single person operation. We will use them again for periodic deep cleaning.

KAREN AND HER CREW CHEERFULLY RESTORED MY HOUSE NOT ONLY TO A CLEAN, ATTRACTIVE AND LIVABLE SPACE, BUT THEY ALSO *ORGANIZED* THE THINGS I HAD NOT HAD THE ENERGY TO DEAL WITH TO EMPOWER ME TO TAKE THE REIGNS OF MY HOUSEHOLD AGAIN IN ONLY 1.5 HOURS. They had been working for me for many months before my illness interrupted my every-other-week cleaning/organizing appointments with the Organization Lady. Despite how great they'd always been, I honestly couldn't imagine how even they could possibly turn this disaster around and make my house look like home again. THIS IS NOT YOUR ORDINARY CLEANING CREW. They do not balk at a room buried in papers, boxes, wires, dirty clothing and a thick layer of dog fur ground into the carpet. Or a roomful of food-encrusted dishes. With good cheer and treating me with respect AND TRUE CARING, they quickly and energetically helped me on so many levels that I was close to tears when I saw what they had done for me.
Description of Work: Karen and her crew of three cleaned *and organized* an extremely overwhelming and dirty mess (small house, three big muddy dogs, not cleaned for two months because of acute illness; all surfaces, including floor, covered with clothes, tools, papers, miscellany). Dusted, washed/scrubbed, thoroughly vacuumed all surfaces (careful not to cross-contaminate bathroom to kitchen!), moving/replacing everything to get at built-up scuzz. Sorted and organized everything (without being invasive) into neat stacks where I could access them without being overwhelmed myself. Scrubbed several weeks worth of dishes and pots as well as counters buried in crumbs and stains, despite half of double sink being used for plant propagation, without disturbing my project. Vacuumed dangerously furry and dusty area around computers without moving or disturbing any electronics in any way. Restored house to something livable. NOTE: USUALLY TAKES ONLY 1 HOUR BUT HOUSE HAD GONE 2 MONTHS WITHOUT CLEANING.
