Olson Energy Service

After receiving several estimates, we selected Olson Energy for their professionalism and price. They were able to give us information on the size of furnace needed to heat our small house and did not seem to be trying to oversell. They were very straight forward in their presentation. In addition, in each case where we have had their workers in our home, they also were professional, friendly and quick. We will continue to use them for any issues concerning natural gas in our home.

Everything has gone very well with this company.

I have a service contract with Olson and have been very satisfied with auto delivery and regular scheduled annual check ups on my oil furnace.

They are competent and customer service oriented. I've been using them for a long time. They are fairly timely. I don't have any complaints. They were there when they said they would be.

They stuck with their quote really well. We also changed the scope of the work a little bit and they changed it for free and it was pretty cool. There were few things that they come up with and they were all done pretty quickly. They were less priced than others. I would use them again in the future.

Great install and behind the scenes work. Initial proposal team made inaccurate statements which caused confusion during the final install, and a disjointed feeling overall. The follow up and support for any issues (all minor - changing of settings and updating the default for the H2O heater) post install has been GREAT!

When I called for an estimate, my call was handled quickly and in a helpful manner. The work was scheduled for that same afternoon and completed by 4 pm. Very efficient and professional. Gas water heater works great.

The work went very well overall. He was fast and he didn’t make a mess. The house smelled great after he was done. We used them for our heating as well and so it was nice to deal with the company that we already have an ongoing relationship with. They are not the cheapest in town, but you get what you pay for.

It’s been a good experience and it’s worked out really well. They were very honest and prompt in their service. There was a little bit of confusion on the quotes but they were very understanding and helpful with the situation and everything ended up fine.

We have a contract with them. They're really great and willing to help. We don't have anyone that we can compare them to as we've never had an oil delivery company before. They are very attentive and knowledgeable. The delivery guy came by and put our shelter in for us so that we could figure out how it went in. He went beyond his duty and did it. He was really friendly and great. The gentleman I spoke to over the phone that set up the account was really knowledgeable and told us all about everything with our furnace and suggested when we should have it maintained and all those sort of things.

I have been using them for furnace cleaning, furnace repair and heating. They used to do just oil but they got into the natural gas furnaces and things like that. So, instead of saying oil heat and natural gas heat in their company name, I think they just used the word Energy. They were up here within half a day. They gave me a window that they would come between 09:00 and noon. They came within the window. There was no problem. The work was thorough and good. I have been using them for a long time and I have always been happy with them. I have a service contract with them where I pay a certain amount of money for the rest of my life. I have used them for the past fifteen years and I have never price shopped.

I called Olson Energy after the electrician told me what the problem was, Olson Energy did not charge me a diagnostic fee, because I already knew what was wrong with the furnace. I was also given a one year maintenance contract which I asked for when the technician arrived, which was included in the price. I purchased this furnace from Olson Energy in 1999 and have had annual service performed on it.

Olsen Energy was wonderful! They came when they said they would, were polite and professional, gave me the price quoted-no hidden costs and even came back when I was having trouble with the thermostate

I'm a property manager and the work was done in one of the houses that I manage. They were very polite and professional. Their bid was low and they did a good job. I liked their price the best. I was pretty pleased with them overall.

I guess the work was done o.k. but I had some issues with the customer service provided by this company. First when I called (and I called them because we'd had them service the furnace before, in fact we had purchased it from them a few years back) I told the phone operator that I wanted the furnace checked as well as have the air ducts cleaned. After lots of questions she gave me a date, time and price. It was only by chance that I discovered at the end of the conversation that she had totally forgotten about the air duct cleaning. "That's a totally different department." o.k. So with a little nudging she allowed that I could set up another appointment for theat and we did. Today the service person came to check the furnace. I am sensitive/allergic to fragrances and he was unfortunately heavily scented. I just opened windows (not a problem since the furnace must be turned on full blast to be checked) and let him get on with it. After he'd finished, he brought me the invoice and wanted to go over it with me. The problem is that I couldn't tolerate standing close to him and when I tried to keep some distance he kept coming closer. So I had to say something. I politely explained that I was sorry, but I was allergic to his perfume and that I needed to stay a few feet away from him. He got a bit irate and insisted that "I'm not wearing any perfume." I tried to explain that it was probably a cleaning solution or personal product or even laundry soap. And he again insisted that he had no fragrances on him and was clearly indignant that I would suggest such a thing. o.k. This was a losing battle and I just wanted to get through it (I'm coughing and sniffing this whole time.) We go over the invoice and it seems o.k. except that they quoted me $195 plus tax on the phone and he had written down $230 plus tax. I pointed this out and he said that it was because that price was for a gas furnace, not an oil furnace. Sure enough someone had circled gas at the top, he'd crossed it off and circled oil. I said it was odd since they had serviced our oil furnace before and should have known or at least asked. He didn't have a response to that. I wasn't all that happy about it but I wqanted him gone, so I paid. And after airing the place out for an hour I even his scent is finally gone. I haven't decided if I'll keep the appointment with the air duct cleaner that is coming up. After all it is a whole different department.

I called to inquire about oil for my furnace as well as setting up an appt to have it serviced. I've never had oil heat and had a lot of questions. I spoke with Kevin who was very knowledgeable and helpful. The servicing was free when you sign up for them to be your oil supplier. They offer different payment and delivery options which I think other companies offer as well, but I'm not sure. The technician who came out was prompt, professional and helpful in providing information.

I had been hesitant to call Olsen for service to our a/c unit. We had used them as original contractors and then for a subsequent service call and found them to be lacking in concern as to our issues with our a/c. The service technician that came out this time was great. We expressed our unhappiness with the unit and the fact that we never had cold air, but for a short time when first installed. He encouraged us to call the company and report our issues and concerns to the manager. Upon hearing of our troubles, the manager was very proactive in fixing the problem without charge to us. Service technicians arrived the next day and worked for two days in order to provide us with a working a/c unit. The technicians were very informative, skilled and professional. We are very happy with Olsen Energy in the way they reacted to our problems and concerns. We would definitely recommend them as a company.

On the Sunday before Christmas, our furnace would not fire up. I called Olson because their ad mentioned weekend service. They said they could come out that day but there would be a charge for the Sunday service, so I opted for Monday instead. The repairman showed up first thing Monday. Unfortunately, the furnace would ignite while he was there, so he just checked everything he could think of to check and left. An hour later the furnace would not ignite again, so I called and Olson got him right back. He found the problem, drove to the service center to get the part, and came back and installed it that day.

We originally hired them seven years ago to replace an oil furnace with a gas furnace. They’ve been maintaining it ever since. They come out once a year and do some overhauling.

They keep my old furnace running. They are prompt and seem to do a good job.

Heard about them through our neighbor, who is one of the company owners. We solicited bids from other companies for annual servicing of our gas furnace, and Olson Energy was competitive and responsive. The technician who did the work for us was prompt, courteous, and quick. Olson Energy guaranteed an 8AM slot, which worked well for our professional schedules. We're pleased to have a long term servicing contract with this outstanding company.

The first guy didn't show up. Then we got Steve and he has been superb. He came when he said he would. He has been following through.

All the technicians on staff know their stuff and do a good job. He was helpful, looking at the water heater and gave me good advice. He did not have to look at the water heater he was here for the furnace. They are courteous, on time professional technicians. They did not waste any time and really knew how to do their job. I am part of the priority club, which means that when I need something repaired my call goes to the top of list. I will continue using this company.

Olson has been really responsive. They continually follow up on a problem until they resolve the issue.

I recently bought a house that had an old gas furnace, which I was planning to replace. When I got the house after closing the furnace was not working, no heat at all a few days before I predicted cold snap. I was in a rush to get a new electric furnace in. Luckily, I had already set this up with a different company. I called them to have the date for the replacement pushed up. I was told first I had to decommission the old oil tank. I called Olson Energy specifically to ask them if they would decommission the tank, since I knew the previous owners had left oil in the tank on credit with the company and were expecting Olson to take back any oil I didn't use and credit it to their account. The receptionist at Olson told me they would only decommission the tank if I bought the new electric furnace and heat pump from them. I also asked about taking the oil back. I was told they would only take the oil back if they decommissioned the tank. I already had Bel Red heating scheduled to put in my heat pump and new furnace and I did not appreciate being pushed by Olson to go with them. My own error was on not focusing on how much oil was in the tank. (It turned out to be a large amount: $577 worth.) I had many different things to think about and was worried about freezing pipes, etc, in the confusion and hurry I did not check the oil tank measurement the previous owners had given me. If I had known how much money it was I would have fought Olson harder and not accepted their refusal. As it was, I assumed it was only the few weeks worth of oil that I had asked the previous owners to leave me. Now Olson Energy has sent a bill to the previous owners for $577 and they in turn are asking me to reimburse them.
