Eric provide a superb design, with strong attention to the details. He has a great eye for balance, light, and mass - a true artist. Yet he also was exceptionally attentive to the quality of the drawings, which got approved by the City in record time with essentially no changes - that's a real testament to his skill and attention. I couldn't be happier with how things turned out, and am very happy to give Eric Hess my highest recommendation.

My wife & I were determined to get it right. Our house is 100 years old and the kitchen had never been extensively re-modeled. We'd removed a chimney that ran from the roof to the basement below the kitchen & installed a laundry chute. This opened up additional space in the kitchen, but not really enough to make use of. Eric suggested we build a shallow broom closet with a spice rack above. This was just one of the little ideas that made working with Eric so worthwhile. What impressed me most was his suggestion we move two of the three entrances to the kitchen (one door leads to our basement). By moving these doors just a few inches from their original locations we dramatically increased our counter space without compromsing our access at all. Our builder had no difficulty working from the plans & Eric even helped advise our electrician. We still get compliments on our kitchen. It's the most modern & most functional room in our house. Three years later we're still discovering why we like our kitchen so much. (Eric suggested we add extra electrical outlets, I'm now powering more gadgets with.) Eric's the Man.
