We got an estimate this summer to remove our old lawn and resod. We had an appointment for this week to do the work. Last week I confirmed our scheduled appointment by text - and were told - yes we were still on. The day arrived - and they no showed. I emailed and I texted and never heard anything back. Very unprofessional to not show up and to ignore all messages.

Made an appointment via their online form as requested. Took time off work to be home. They never showed and did not respond to email, phone, or text until 12 hours later with an automated email telling me to reschedule. Unprofessional.

They showed up on time. Had a little trouble communicating with this new crew. After resolving that issue they performed the work to my satisfaction.

Work was very well done. Project estimator was off on size. Communication for resolution could have been better.

They did great work, were super professional, and were very competitively priced.

***UPDATE: North East Landscaping reached out to me after this review to discuss my concerns. I met with Lupe, and we had a great conversation. They have already begun to address those concerns, and I have re-hired them for ongoing maintenance for my yard. Thanks, Lupe!*** Hired this company to put in some improved drainage to my yard, build a couple small retaining walls out front, do some top dressing/res-seeding for my lawn, and do bi-weekly yard maintenance. Per their invoice, this includes "Lawn mowing, Edging, Line-trimming, Weed Control, Shrubs/Plants Pruning/Trimming 1-2 per year up to 6' feet, Fertilizing Turf 4-6 per year, Litter removal, Leaves removal, Blowing hardscapes, Disposal off-site all green waste/Debris materials, Leave site Tidy and Clean." Drainage work went well, as did the overall initial yard cleanup. The retaining walls turned out great as well - despite a cable line being left in between blocks of the wall and not routed above it per my explicit request. Also, twice per month, they sent a couple guys out to zip through my lawns on their powered mower, spritz some weed control, and clean things up with the leaf blower. The problems I had were with the state my lawn was left in (and, continues to be in), as well as trying to communicate with the owner (or any other decision maker). On these specific points I would give 2 stars at the absolute best. The first major concern was the fact that they scheduled all the lawn rehab first. They thatched, reseeded, and did the top dressing. I spent a good portion of my early evenings the next couple of weeks watering by hand since I don't have sprinklers. THEN, they came in to do the drainage and retaining wall work, which involved tearing up and even tramping part of the lawn that a bunch of time and effort was just spent trying to rehab, with grass trying to grow back. Wouldn't it have made sense to do that work FIRST, then do the lawn? In addition to new grass being trampled, large portions of the lawn were sopped with essentially gray mud from the stone cutting that was happening for the wall, and there was quite a bit of gravel all over it. I took several pictures that I emailed to the owner, I also called about getting him or some manager to come out and take a look at both this as well as the cable line issue with one retaining wall. I wanted to at least get some assurance that it would be addressed as part of the ongoing maintenance I was paying for. No reply or acknowledgement, even after a few tries via phone and email. The concrete mud eventually dissipated for the most part, but not only do I still have several bald spots in various places around my lawn, the area where the existing lawn was excavated and put back is all just 100% dead. I have basically a bare line right where the drain trench is. After dropping the issue for a while (due to more pressing matters in my life), I brought up the issue again in September. I wanted to have someone with authority come out and let me know what could be done, as well as discuss what might be needed for winter maintenance specifically. With the colder temperatures, I was not sure $230 a month to have them do 30 min of work twice per month was worth it. I contacted the owner via email, who asked me to fill out an online form for an estimate appointment. Probably about an hour before the scheduled appointment, I got a call from the owner. He asked if we could do the estimate over the phone, because he was running late and didn't want to drive to my place. I explained that I was, once again, hoping to have either him or some manager take a look at the state my lawn was in, and let me know what could be done - because it was due to the way in which his team did their work. I explained the state of my lawn. He said he would look up how many sq ft my yard had from their previous notes and send me an estimate. The estimate to fix his own team's work, that in part seems like it ought to have fallen under the umbrella of the monthly maintenance service ('fertilizing turf 4-6 per year') I was already paying for: a full repeat of the top dressing and re-seeding to the tune of just under $2000. When the owner would not respond to repeated requests to look at the work his team did, even when he had an appointment scheduled- the message that sent to me was that I was just not worth his time. That was the last straw. Some of my neighbors were interested in hiring them, but not after this particular experience.

Just fine - they were quick and thorough

The crew Carlos sent was very nice, but they did not complete the debris removal from the gutters, left dirt from the gutter cleaning on the house, left a dead tree branch in the tree, and has not responded to multiple requests to send someone back out to fix these issues. Also, they did not trim a section of the tree over the driveway as requested. They did blow out our sprinkler system, and that seemed to go fine.

Carlos and his team were great! Wonderful design, great communication, and very professionally executed/installed. Great people to work with!

The company, after sorting out a price and a date, never showed up and failed to respond to calls or texts. Frustrating, would not recommend.

North East Landscaping is a wonderful company to work with! Their workers were on time, worked hard all day, and did a very professional job on our front and back yards. Would hire again and again!

They did a wonderful job, and the two man crew (for my job) were friendly, competent, and awesome. Cleared the yard one day, came back the next to trim, lay the tarp and bark. Did parking strip, steeply sloped side yard, shared yard, back and side parking area too. I’m getting compliments from strangers, and my neighbors. Already gave two referrals.

Very well. Landscapers arrived an hour early, completed work quickly, answered all my questions, and left everything clear of debris.

The estimate process went smoothly with them. They came out twice and accommodated my schedule for the estimate.

Workers arrived in the morning, as promised, and they turned on the sprinklers and checked that all were functional. Very happy with the work done and with the timely response to my Angie's List inquiry.

The NE Landscaping guys have done a fantastic job of transforming my large back yard. It had gotten decimated by the felling of two enormous Lombardy Poplar trees. They got the job done in one day, and did a great clean up afterwards. Highly recommend.

Excellent service from beginning to end! Carlos and his team were always very professional and delivered a service that I can only describe as "the best one I could have asked for". They re-did my backyard, leveling the ground, adding soil and grass, gravel, building a retaining wall, installing an automatic irrigation system and even building a patio where I installed a hot tub. The quality of the work is excellent and Carlos' responsiveness is also the best I've seen from anyone. He truly cares for what he does and he made me feel great about every step of the process. I would highly recommend him and I would be more than happy to hire him again.

Cruz's crew of three did an excellent job completing a long list of landscaping work over the course of 2 days. They hauled a truck load of clean green and completely cleaned up and swept the area. Carlos, the owner, is the man to contact for appointments and scheduling and calling him proved to be more effective than emailing. Both Carlos and Cruz were very prompt in replying to my questions. Their prices were very reasonable and their overall operations professional.
