Mr. Christofferson arrived promptly for the inspection (he was on site starting the inspection when the realtor and I arrived). As a first-time owner, I greatly valued Mr. Christofferson's thoroughness. Mr. Christofferson pointed out several things that I would never have noticed without his calling attention to it (including evidence of previous earthquake damage). In addition, Mr. Christofferson explained his observations in layman terms and offered suggestions for tackling some of the potential challenges posed by purchasing a 30 year-old condo. The post-inspection report is a thorough recount of the inspection and serves as a great reference during necessary maintenance and for future upgrades/renovations. I am very satisfied with the inspection - I have been in my condo for 13 months and have not experienced any problems that might have been missed during the inspection.
Description of Work: Mr. Christofferson thoroughly inspected the condominium exterior (roof & attic, gutters & drains, driveway & parking, chimney, deck, foundation & walls) and the whole of the interior (kitchen, living room, master bedroom, second bedroom, bathroom, laundry closet, water heater closet, electrical box, plumbing, heating). In addition, Mr. Christofferson brought his own camera and took multiple photographs to be included in the post-inspection report.

The pest inspection was fine. Chris was nice, prompt, and throrough. He emailed me a full-color report including photos within a few hours of completing the inspection and hard copies are in the mail. My only issue was that he was full of advice on everything from the furnace to the hard wood floors, and frankly I just didn't trust (or really want) his opinions. So, stick to the pest inspection and this is an A+.
Description of Work: Pest Inspection to fulfill an FHA loan requirement.

Response from Normandy Inspection
Member, I always strive to supply more than what is required for the basic "wood destroying organism report" or even when completing a full home inspection. Some safety issues - completely out of the anticipated work scope - is required by the state and as an inspector. Gas appliances/flues, condensation drain lines are inspected and the condition of hardwood floors can tell me if a problem has existed in the crawl space and if this was a long term problem. My aim was & is to supply a product that exceeds minimum requirements and to supply any information that I have that will make maintenance easier and to help prevent potential conditions that could cause decay or infestations. I do not sell other services, but do bring to the inspection site my extensive experience in residential construction & inspections of over 24 years to answer any questions you may have and to insure the structural integrity of the home you have purchased.
