Nielsen was nice to work with from beginning to end. Irene at the store was very helpful in selecting product, measuring, identifying potential issues, and correcting some incorrect tile in the middle of the project. The installers were friendly, respectful, hard-working, and showed up each day as promised. They even came back a couple times to correct small issues that were identified. We were pleased with the product purchased and the work performed. We would hire them again.

We met Tom of Nielsen Brothers at the Home Show. We were impressed with the factory pre-finished solid wood product. This was better than having the floor installed and then having a finish applied in our home. Less disruptive and less fumes in our home. They use a company to install their floors, Chris the installer is a hard working and fast worker. The entire job took over a week to complete and was a hassle to move furniture and belongings out of Chris's way. However the floors are beautiful and we love the results!

They installed the carpet using knee kickers and power stretchers and so the carpet is already loose where the carpet strips are and is already fraying around the edges. I also asked them to cover brackets around a spiral staircase and they didn't do that. They also used a metal clamp bar for transition not the wooden one I asked them to use. They also caused damaged to the baseboards and they said that they knew how to work around it, but when it came they didn't know how to work around that. They also stated that they don't work around baseboards. The carpet manufacture required a 40 ounce pad, but they used a 30 ounce pad which knolls the warranty. When they first came the estimator didn't order enough carpet to install it properly with fewer seams. The seams were also not sealed properly so they are already separating and they look uneven. There was an independent evaluation completed by a certified inspector and I have that report.

The first installation could not be completed due to a short measurement by the salesman. A 2nd installation occurred 1 wk later, but had the wrong color. We were told we must wait for an investigator to check color, as it could be within industry standards for color variance. There was no offer to look for themselves. We produced our own samples to the store to prove that the incorrect color had been installed. We noticed that the carpet we ordered was available in a cut, which would mean we would not have a seam in our carpet. We were told that the carpet was already cut and on the truck, so we must have a seam. Over a month after the initial installation date, the carpet was finally installed. Our final invoice for the remaining balance was incorrect by +$313.34 An effort to escalate matters to the contact registered at the Better Business Bureau were met with a response from the offending manager. Despite multiple efforts, no resolution was achieved.

I AM VERY DISPLEASED WITH THIS COMPANY. WE HAVE WORKED WITH THEM IN THE PAST AND IT HAS NOT GONE SMOOTHLY. WHEN WE FIRST CONTRACTED FOR THIS PARTICULAR JOB, IT WAS EXPLAINED TO THE SALESMAN WE WERE ON A TIME LIMIT AS A NEW OCCUPANT WAS READY TO MOVE INTO THE APARTMENT. WE AGREED UPON A SPECIFIC DATE AND TIME FOR INSTALLATION AND ORDERED THE CARPET HE GUARANTEED WOULD BE IN STOCK. AS TIME PASSED, IT TURNED OUT THAT THE CARPET WAS NOT IN STOCK AND THEY COULD NOT COMPLETE THE WORK AS PROMISED. THE VINYL PORTION OF THE JOB WAS DONE IN A TIMELY MANNER AND THE WORK AND WORKER WERE EXCELLENT. THE CARPET LAYERS DID NOT SHOW UP TO DO THEIR PORTION. WHEN WE CALLED THE SALESMAN MARK, HE SAID THEY WERE ''TEN MINUTES OUT''. COME TO FIND OUT, THE CREW WAS ALREADY WORKING ON A DIFFERENT JOB AND DIDN'T PLAN TO GET TO US FOR ANOTHER 5 OR 6 HOURS. I HAD PAID STAFF ON SITE TO ACCOMMODATE THE CREW THAT DIDN'T ARRIVE. WE CANCELLED THE CARPET PORTION OF THE WORK AND WILL NEVER USE NIELSEN'S AGAIN.

THE CARPET WE PURCHASED HAD A LARGE FLAW RUNNING THROUGH IT, WHICH WAS NOTICED UPON INSTALLATION. NIELSEN BROS. HAD A NEW CARPET ORDERED, AND INSTALLED FOR US.
