+ -1 moreI called Mark to schedule a service call for a non-working stove in one of the apartments. The light on the stove would turn on but the elements would not heat up. I fully expected Mark to come by and charge for a service call just as any repair place would. Within 30 seconds of hearing the description of the problem Mark was able to guide me through troubleshooting and eventually fixing the cause. He charged me nothing for his help. Amazing that in the world of profiteering we live in there are people like this who are truly professional and do not take advantage of each situation for personal gain. I will be sure to recommend Mark's services to anyone I know.

Description of Work: My dishwasher conked out and I was having trouble getting the people who were obligated to fix it under warranty to come out. Mark came out, showed up on time, did the work right on budget, and told me what I needed to tell the warranty people to get it fixed. Professional and reasonable- will call him first the next time I need something repaired. Highly recommended.

He correctly diagnosed the and quot;likelyand quot; problem based on a few questions, and had the part ready when he arrived at my doorstep. Personable, professional, and if I have issues with other appliances I will definitely call him again.
Description of Work: My compression relay was not working, so Mark replaced it.

Didn't end up scheduling service call, but found Mark to be very helpful and professional. Would definitely call in the future.

+ -1 moreMr. Wiseman returned my call and asked me questions about my fridge. I expained how the refridgerator portion stopped working but the freezer was fine. He diagnosed the issue over the phone and gave me an option to try that would save my some money on the repair. I did what he said it my fridge did exactly what he said it would do. He came out and replaced the part that was defective. He left the old part with me just in case he was incorrect and told me that if he was wrong and the problem wasn't fixed he would credit the cost of the part to any new repair that needed to be done. He was right with his diagnosis and my fridge is fine.
Description of Work: Repaired french door refridgerator that stopped working, freezer was overworking.

He was able to determine that I needed a new dishwasher which I ended up purchasing from his brother. He also did troubleshooting for my fridge over the phone and his steps worked. He could have come out to charge me but his help over the phone was very professional.

+ -1 moreYou have to leave a voice mail to get response which is rather complicated...no live receptionist=the way of the world , I guess. However once made they were able to come quickly and on time. He found the problem and fixed with gear available in his truck; no waiting there. He tired to balance the legs but one was broken so did the best he could. He also fixed the temperature setting to make them correct. He worked quickly and pleasantly..not gruff like previous visit. He allowed me to clean around the machine before pushing back into place which I appreciated.
Description of Work: Fixed 15-20 year old GE washer which stopped working midcycle (the drive complex).

+ -1 moreMy refrigerator stopped working on a Saturday and I began going down the list of appliance repair people, hoping I could get someone to come out that day and fix it. Mark was my fifth or sixth phone call. He politely explained he doesn't work as far south as my neighborhood, then started asking me questions about the problem. He was able to diagnose over the phone that there was a problem with the power source. He gave me instructions to figure out if the problem was with the outlet, cord, etc. Thanks to him, I was able to determine the outlet had failed. Now I have the refrigerator running with an extension cord and I'll be looking for an electrician on Monday to deal with the outlet. Mark's knowledge and courtesy saved my frozen foods and an unnecessary service call from some other appliance service.
Description of Work: Mark diagnosed my refrigerator's problems over the phone and gave me a simple fix to get it running again.

+ -1 moreMy Bosch dishwasher was not working right - not cleaning the dishes, making odd noises. I called Mark, and he made several suggestions over the phone as to what might be causing the problem, and what I could do myself to try to fix it, so as to avoid paying for a visit. When none of those solutions worked, Mark came to the house to check the machine. Sadly, he had to pronounce it dead (main wash motor, it would cost as much to fix as buying a new machine). He only charged me for the time, and even had a few suggestions about how to go about replacing my horrible stove when it's finally time to do that.
Description of Work: Diagnose problems with my Bosch dishwasher, over the phone and then with a home visit.

Description of Work: We got up yesterday morning with a terrible smell coming from our frig. It was no longer keeping things cold. In fact, it was hot in there! + -1 moreHe did a good job fixing the switch. It works fine now The labor is $127/hour! Wow I wish I could ask such a wage for my time! That is capitalism for ya! Teachers nurses retirees etc just have to dottle along on our meesely incomes and pray that things don't break.
Description of Work: Burner went out on stove Called this company.; got voice mail only but he called back with in hours. He had appointments available quickly / seemed very flexible here. He could only give me a window of time, though, as most companies do. The first trip to me home we didn't connect He says he rang the bell and knocked but - I didn't hear him. I felt terrible about this. So we rescheduled. He was punctual on the second trip though not very friendly. He is not a talker at all! He had to rewire the switch for the burner and spent about 1hr doing this. There was grease under the switch area (the covering control panel leaks apparently) It was filthy and I wanted to gently clean it. He adamently would not let me do this fearing that the other switches would break. I found this hard to believe and I was going to be very careful in my approach but he would have none of it nor would he clean it himself! ...so we left it / locked the whole mess under the control plate covering. He had no solutions as to how to keep future liquid out of this area.which is what caused the switch problem in the first place! It was like this was not his affair - prevention of future problems. He only wanted to fix the switch and be gone... where for me, that outcome was less than ideal. He was trying to save me more trouble and expense, I guess. I just happen to be a person who does not like greasy, old food near my cooking surfaces. (The same went for the dishwasher door that I asked how to clean the streaks off the inside panel. Here again he said "just leave it" He did mention I could buy a new panel but he refused to give me a price. Perhaps I am more of a clean freak than he is used to? It was a bit frustrating though.

Description of Work: I called Mark twice and both times he answered within a few rings and is a very pleasant man. I needed a 10 year old GE dishwasher repaired. After setting up an appointment I gave it a second thought and called Mark back to get his opinion about just replacing the unit with a new one. He thought that this was a good idea but suggested that I try a few things first. He really took his time to educate me on what to look for. The machine works fine and I didn't spend a dime! Mark has really earned my trust and is very knowledgeable.
