We were promised a 4 or 5-day installation of engineered hardwood in our living room, dining room, kitchen and entry hallway. Install was supposed to occur from Tues through Friday, plus Saturday, if needed. The job was not completed by the end of Friday, and they said they could not work on Saturday, so we spent the weekend without the use of our downstairs (all furniture removed for the installation job, of course). We were able to use our kitchen, at least. However, the disruption of our home was extended for another week. The installers dented the flooring when returning the refrigerator to its place, so an additional couple of days was required the following week to finish the job and to "re-do" the dented areas of the floor. The repair required the removal of a good amount of the middle of the kitchen floor, and was done with materials we provided (i.e. excess flooring that we had already paid for). The repaired area has squeaked and made loud cracking sounds in specific areas (these are heavily used areas, mind you, being in the middle of the kitchen, so very noticeable). This differs from the rest of the downstairs that did not require repair and is quiet. We are currently working with Lowe's to have the installers come out to repair the repair, but so far they have not kept to their promised timeline on returning our calls to have the installers come back. We are taking advantage of the 1 year warranty on the installation before it runs out. All in all, the majority of the installation crew didn't seem very professional or skilled. We were disappointed with this installer. We had used Lowe's the previous year in another home to install a similar floor, but at the time Lowe's was using a different installation company who were truly excellent with the flooring, so we were quite disappointed that Lowe's had changed its flooring installation contractor to this company. I don't like to give bad reviews, but I also don't like to have expensive work done poorly.

The staff who helped us from sorting out what we needed to communicating with us was excellent. The installation itself went very smoothly and they were friendly. It took a while for them to install it but we understand their situation. But they were here for the measurement and installation when they said they would.
Description of Work: Lowes measured 32 windows for us in August and they installed it in September.

Ok, you should know that they want their money that day. All of it. Then it gets outsourced. And then you are dealing with two companies -- and the left hand does not know what the right is doing. dScheduling was difficult. The installers arrived late. They rang the bell and didn't introduce themselves -- no signage on truck and no paperwork. I paid for a plumbing disconnect. They came without a wrench and asked me how to do it. Frankly, I should have put a stop on it at that point. They wanted me to sign off before it was even completed. Mess everywhere - nails -- somebody's t-shirt left under the counter -- dings in the wall that required plastering. In spanish, called me a fat old lady (regardless of the fact - I don't expect that). The outsource company did let those workers go and apologized, but it was a bit too late. There was a large seam left and everyone (new workers from the company and 2 persons from Lowes) came again to look at it and agreed that it was not a good seam -- it is immediately to the right of the sink and doesn't look good. A third person came to "fix it" -- but apparently no one told him -- he just wanted me to sign off on it. It goes on...you get the picture. I did not sign off that I was satisfied - and I have not heard back from Lowes. Go with a reputable company that does not outsource. Customer service (Xavier) was very pleasant but ineffectual in making things right. I will never do a big job through Lowes again --

Lowes was having an appliance sale and the website said to go into the store to purchase an installation plan. Once at the store, the sales associate, Cecil, had us go back home to gather information (like whether the dishwasher outlet had a dedicated circuit) and come back to the store to complete the transaction. We were a little annoyed at having to make another trip, but Cecil assured us that it was necessary to ensure that the installation would be as quick and smooth as possible. After gathering all the information and purchasing the installation contract we were told that it would be an "easy job" and done as soon as possible. We arranged for installation between 9 am and 1 pm on 5/7/12. At 12:45 pm, I received a call that the dishwasher we purchased had dents in the door and there wasn't another model to replace it with. We then agreed to have a 'similar' model installed. The installer came to the house at 1:30 and within 10 seconds of entering (the dishwasher, if it was even on the truck to begin with, was never even unloaded) said that there was 'a big problem' and that the sink was too far from the dishwasher for the new one to be installed. I asked how this could be since we had given the measurements to the store (and paid extra for an 8' hose); the installer said he'd just make a quick run back to the store and be right back. Two hours passed, and I called the store. The installation department said, "Oh, he didn't call you? He said it's not going to work," and went on to claim that we would need a 16 foot hose, which would cost extra. That was totally ridiculous because the hose for the old dishwasher was 8 feet and our kitchen isn't even 16 feet across at that point. I was transferred back to Cecil, and when I told him that 1) we had gone over the measurements and he knew the dishwasher wasn't right next to the sink but around the corner from it and 2) 16 feet of hose wouldn't even fit in the space we were talking about, he just said, "Well, he [the installer] is the expert," and said that if we wanted to "figure something out" it would probably cost more. I asked to speak to the installer and was told that he had gone to another job site. At no time did anyone at Lowes ever express an apology for the day I took off of work and wasted at home or the failure of even the courtesy of a phone call from the installer to let me know he wouldn't be coming back. When I mentioned that, the response was, "OK, well, do you want to just cancel the sale?" I contacted another appliance store and was told that having a dishwasher ONE corner cabinet away from the sink is far from uncommon and it would be very easy to install. I will never buy another item from Lowes nor use any services contracted through them.

There are not many helpers there as compared to the other company. When one needs to ask a question, they don’t get much help. Otherwise they are fine. I go to Lowe’s and the other company because they are right across the street from each other. The distance is exactly the same from my house. I would use them again in the future.

The person that came out was a subcontractor that was working for Lowe's. The experience wasn't good. It took them three times to finish the job. They brought the counter top out and the worker didn't have the right tools. So, he had to come out again and messed up the cut. By the third time it was complete, approximately two weeks later. On the flip side of things, the counter top was greatly reduced when it was all said and done.

It didn’t work out especially well. Dealing with Lowe’s, there were little glitches all along the way. Once the door came, it wasn’t what we wanted but they wouldn’t take it back because they said it was special order. It’s true that they ordered it because they were out of stock, but it wasn’t a special size or anything. We ended up just buying another door and they agreed to give us the second door for only 10% over their cost. We fought with them for awhile but finally I decided it wasn't worth my bother. We went with them originally because they were cheaper, but in the end we spent more than we would have with someone else. There is not a chance that I will use them again.
Description of Work: Lowe’s installed a storm door for us. We bought the door there and then they came out to install it as well.

We are very satisfied with our floor. They were very efficient. It was difficult to communicate with the installers because they spoke Spanish and we didn't but we were able to work around that problem.

The salesman and the installer were quite professional in their work.
Description of Work: We went to Lowe's to buy a new dishwasher to replace our old one which needed repairs. We chose the appliance and asked Lowe's to install it for us. The salesman asked a number of questions concerning the present installation. We answered the questions after checking the installation. The salesman said that they would install it. A time frame was set up. The installer arrived during the time frame and removed the old dishwasher. I was able to clean the empty space. Then he installed the new one and ran a short cycle to be sure that it was working okey. When I ran it later with a load of dishes it worked fine.

I went with my parents to buy this dryer. I wasn't happy with Lowes during this process. The delivery wasn't done properly at all. When we paid for the dryer they told us they would call to deliver the dryer a few days before they came. They didn't call in the time they said they would. When they did finally call they told me they would be there in 20 minutes but I wasn't available then. When it was delivered it was late and poorly handled. I asked for some money back on the delivery fee which they gave me but then invited me to come to the store to get the check. I wasn't willing to go all the way to the store to get the check but they refused to mail it so the delivery driver brought me the money back in cash. They tried to charge us an overpriced charge to install it so we did it ourselves.

Horrible! Their 'installer' decided we needed 135 square feet. Nobody at Lowes could explain why we needed 50 square feet more, but they never helped to alleviate the issue. This took over a half a dozen calls and a week of nobody knowing why I was being charged nearly double what I should have been charged. Even the store manager was asked and stood behind the charge but couldn't explain what we were supposed to do with 50 extra square feet. A waste of a week. Really unprofessional. We will NEVER go back to that store.
Description of Work: We ordered a carpet. An installer came out and measured the area. The hallway is 4 feet by 16 feet, with a left turn addition of 3 x 3 feet. This should come to 84 feet ( 2 12 foot carpets, each 4 feet wide) with one seam.

I had not shopped for kitchen appliances in over 30 years! The sales person did a great job explaining all the fancy new features on modern appliances, differences between brands, what appliances met my particular needs, and helped me solve a clearance problem related to buying a larger fridge. (Other appliance stores I visited were FAR less helpful). Then the sales person let me know when the next sale would be and called when it actually started sooner than originally anticipated. I ended up with some really nice appliances at a very fair price. Installation was timely, neat, friendly and efficient. It was a pleasant experience and I am enjoying the new appliances very much!
Description of Work: Purchased Samsung refrigerator and range, had them delivered and installed, and old appliances hauled off.

George Brautlacht of Lowe's was easy to work with, patient, helpful and very accurate in all his calculations and orders. Joey also was very good in following up on our plumbing orders. The subcontractor did beautiful job on all the installations and we found him very personable and patient. The cabinet company (not Lowe's) had made several mistakes with the order which delayed our job and required several extra visits from the subcontractor to complete the installation. In the end we love our cabinets and Lowe's did a good job resolving with the cabinet manufacturer to get our kitchen done correctly. The contractor communicated with us directly for coordinating the countertop installation and followed through very well with us on appointments....even though we needed to bring them out to re-lift a section of the counter and reset it, and replace a small piece that had an irregular edge, they were very quick to respond and did make it right.
Description of Work: I worked with George Brautlacht, Sales Specialist at Lowes to order all new kitchen frameless cabinets, new countertop, and Joey in Plumbing for new sink, faucet and garbage disposal for our kitchen remodel. Then they sent out a sub-contractor to do the tear out and installations of all new items and our rehooking up all existing appliances that we kept. The new quartz countertop was installed by another sub-contractor from Lowe's.

Able to get the job done in 1 day. The installation of the doors created additional work for me because of the painting I had to do around & over the caulking. I didn't receive any of the paperwork for the doors especially the energy star certifications. I'm still waiting to get this from Lowe's.

The floor representatives were very polite and knowledgeable. Due to lack of public information available on portable dishwashers, I had to rely on the assurance of Lowe's employees that this dishwasher actually washed dishes (no pre-rinsing!). Also, they were willing to call Maytag to provide information not listed in the owner's manual: cycle time. The delivery personnel then delivered the dishwasher on a day that suited my busy schedule: Sunday. Not a scratch did they leave on my door frame or anywhere else!
Description of Work: Lowe's sold and delivered a portable dishwasher to my home on a Sunday. The dishwasher was a Maytag, and price includes tax and delivery minus rebate and gift card.
