They basically subcontract and we experienced a problem where the subcontractors felt the need to cut the counter top in half in order to install it. So that sort of set us back but when the owner finally came out, looked at it and checked, they were able to do exactly what we wanted. The only thing that would have been better is if everything was a little bit smoother.

I picked it up and installed it. The employees are not necessarily the most knowledgeable about what additional pieces maybe required for whatever appliance or thing you buy there. I had to go back and swap out things. I thought I had the right things in the beginning. Their prices are competitive. It is about average. They were professional. I would probably go back for another appliance, but probably because they are close.

The installed the carpet at the end of 2012 for us. They had a good selection to choose from. 3 guys came out and it took them all day. I felt like they rushed the job.

The process was slow because I had to go through the seller to get a response from the manufacturer and neither were very enthusiastic about my problem.
Description of Work: One week after the warranty expired the Frigidaire refrigerator died. I called Loews and they arranged for a concession from the manufacturer to do the repairs. The contractor was unable to come at the assigned time but came out the next week. He found that the repairs would cost more than the refrigerator was worth. On 12/20.11 Loews called to say that the manufacturer would not replace the refrigerator. Kudos to Loews for trying but they shouldn't sell cheap appliances.

Upon install, we couldn't get the dryer to work. They took the machine out and they found another one in Renton, and got it out and installed later that afternoon. I got 10% off for my trouble. Really good service, the machine works beautifully and I was so impressed I bought a refrigerator a few weeks later, which gets installed on Friday :)

While the carpeting looks good, the experience has been just awful and a great reminder to pay attention to these user ratings, as other have had similar experiences with Lowes carpeting and contractors. The contractor did make a timely measurement and competitive bid; however, even obtaining the bid price was pulling teeth. We were advised to contact the store within 48 hours after the contractor did measurements for the bid. We stopped by in person and no one in "carpeting" had any idea how to show a bid...they wanted to tilt a computer screen to have us read it, and were shocked we wanted them to print something (they actually did not know how) that listed what was in the bid. We talked to a trainee in carpeting who seemed surprised that we wanted more than to read his computer screen. After finally comparison shopping and taking advantage of Lowes deal, it took us 4-6 weeks to get any updates on the status of our carpeting. Finally, what has thrown us over the edge is the installation. We were advised by Chris, their contractor at Seattle Interior Solutions, that this would be about a 4-5 hour job to tear out and install carpeting. This has turned into a 16-hour nightmare and it's not close to being over. Chris' only explanation when I called him was he forgot to read that this included tearout. The 2 installers they sent are very nice and doing a good job with what they have, but our house is not complicated, and 16 hours to take out and install carpeting is ridiculous, and the ETA has changed at least 8 times, causing us to cancel significant plans. I have used Lowes for other big-ticket items such as appliances and generally had good service, which caused me to hopefully ignore other member reviews showing Lowes in general with very very poor ratings for carpet sales and installation. I did this in hopes that their "installation special" would meet the same expectations their appliance installations has. It is not remotely close, causing me to know I will be moving future business from Lowes. This has been awful. I would advise other members to read and trust the reviews like I did not. Yes, a carpet-only specialist may charge more, but very likely the ones that are A-rated are A-rated for a reason. Lowes is not for a reason as well. Stay far away.

The first installer couldn't do the job because there was a plumbing part I needed and they didn't handle that. They waited to call me back to let me know if someone else w/their company could do it and then said they didn't have anybody. I had to call my own plumber to install the part and then called Lowe's to reschedule, and then they had to have another installer come out because the first installer was busy. What killed me was that I had to pay an additional $50 to the first company because they came out to do a job they couldn't complete. I will continue to use Lowe's but only because I have a credit card with them. May get my own installer out the next time, though. I had good luck w/Lowe's the first time w/a toilet install but my new dishwasher sat in my living room for 10 days.

Overall they did replace the carpet and the carpet installation was acceptable. We felt the price was great but that's where the good news ends. Lowe's was difficult to deal with once the bid was done. The installer didn't show up and we rescheduled. They were rude, late, and took 5 days to do a simple 1 day job. They (the installers) were extremely rude to our tenants. Eventually Lowe's apologized and gave us our money back for the installation. Lowe's did a reasonable job but they have crappy contractors. We had them bid on the downstairs recently (summer 2009) and they came up with a bid that was 5 times above the advertised price. They had many extra little junk fees like a dumpster key fee $27 and a parking fee of over $200. You couldn't pay for parking if you wanted to anywhere near our house. There is plenty of parking for free within a few feet of the front door. The square feet bid was incorrect and far too big. Even the Lowe's sales person couldn't figure it out based on their measurements. For instance the kitchen is tiny and they said it was 144sf to re surface. Even using a 12' roll we would only need 7' of material. 12'x7' is 84sf. Where did they get 144sf? Their bid for the downstairs was about 150sf larger than needed based on a 12' roll of carpet. Please do the basic math yourself and check for junk fees. I don't trust their contractors and will no longer use them. I do like Lowe's and may buy my materials there but they need to screen their contractors far better.

fluctuated 100 degrees. When a repair person finally came, he said it only needed calibration (which would have been solved if Rick had provided the info, and the reason that my cookies didn't bake was because I used aluminum cookie sheets and we should expect 100 degree fluctuation or the food would burn. The story only gets worse from there-I have asked repeatedly for my money back and can't get anyone to return my call. I have purchased another Stove at Albert Lee and am awaiting delivery pending removal of stove by Lowe's and return of my $. I am not a litiginous person, but am at my wits ends with Lowe's and really appreciate your expertise/help short of a lawyer. Thanks, Mary Fielder (206-919-3500)
Description of Work: I purchased a stove (and dw) from Lowe's on 11/25; delivered on 12/12. They couldn't hook up stove because nobody told me I needed a 220V for a dual fuel stove (I had 110 with my previous full gas stove). On 12/17, my electrician upgraded the circuit to 220 (cost $1000). I talked to the previous installer (Rick 206-859-9023) and asked that he call my electrician before he hooked up the stove for specific answers to my electrician's questions (exchanged cell phones with both). As info provided with the stove and the Fridgidare website is very lame w/electrical hook-ups (my electrician couldn't find the 220 requirement or other needed info), he was able to hook up the stove-top, but the oven didn't work. I called Lowe's numerous times to get someone to fix it, but they couldn't find anyone to come "during the holidays" (not to mention all my planned holiday baking and plans for Christmas dinner for 10 here "with my new designer oven".) I tried to bake cookies and the oven temperature

Description of Work: We needed vinyl and carpet flooring installed in a basement apt ASAP. Went to their store and had great help picking out the materials. Paid $35 for estimator and was told they would call to set appt within 48 hours. This never happened - not even in 96 hours. We have not called back but are looking for someone else now - more reliable. We plan on getting our $35 back.

Not well at all. Lowe's delayed submitting the work order to the installation contractors for 4 work days. The contractor, was able to schedule a timely installation, but walked off the job when they found the gentleman who measured the job had missed some details, and more labor would be required than had been estimated. The estimator/supervisor (Peter) was rude and argumentative. I requested and received a refund from Lowe's, but was unable to re-carpet this apartment before advertising it for rental. I will not use this contractor through Lowe's again.

Very well. I was very pleased with the service I received as well as the quality of the work. From start to finish, I was able to get my counters installed in about two weeks - which was excellent timing for the busy summer months. The fabricators were great to work with, their templating process was very high tech and the fabricators were top notch. There was a slight glitch with the template and the onsite fabricators took an extra hour to cut off about three inches from one piece of counter and then polish it up. While the fabricators were a bit late, the customer service folks from Lowes called a number of times to check on the progress and make sure everything went OK. The counters are gorgeous and I am very pleased with my experience.
Description of Work: Lowes sold me about 29 square feet of LG Viatera counters in Abyss color. They templated and fabricated and installed the countertops.
