Duy has been great - he offers a fair price and does great work. His workers are professional and hard working. Duy is communicative, personally checks their work, and follows up to make sure you're happy.
Description of Work: I have used Lee's Landscaping multiple times across 2 properties to "clean up" each spring - trimming hedges, shorning trees away from the house, weeding, mulching, etc. I have also called them to do landscaping work such as removing trees, stone work, retaining wall - Duy has done it all for me.

Description of Work: Crew of three arrived on hour later than promised, but large backyard was all finished by 3 pm. Work included weeding, weed whacking, cutting large hedge and spreading 3 yards of fine chips. Only complaint was that the last crew man who arrived two hours later started trimming shrubs when I had told crew not to machine trim any bushes at all.

They did fine. Sometimes it is so hard to understand him. We decided to discontinue him because we are just seeking other services. It was $35 per mowing.

Description of Work: I sent an email for a free estimate and Ron was very prompt in responding. When he arrived at my house, Ron went to the wrong house and blamed me for sending the wrong address, which I apologized for and later found out that I did indeed send him the right one. He also chastised me for not providing a phone number. This was my first time getting an estimate so I didn't realize that I needed to provide one. Overall, not a great experience.

My yard has many plants but has not been maintained for a while. I told Ron what I wanted to do and gave me an estimation. After the negotiation, his team jumped into the work immediately. They trimmed the bush/trees, removed and cleaned up a lot things. In the end, my yard looks nice again and my family really love it.
Description of Work: Ron Lee and his team did a great job on my project. They knew what they should do and did it fast. I am very happy that I hired them. Their service is highly recommended.

We hired Ron and his team to prepare our backyard for grass seed. Ron came by for the estimate at a time that worked with my schedule. He offered a very reasonable price. Once the rain stopped, they came by and did a great job rototilling the ground and laying a smooth layer of topsoil. I could not be more pleased. Ron and his team always leave the yard looking great.

I contacted Lee's General Landscaping by E-mail (via Angie"s List) along other similar contractors from Angie's list. I hired Ron for the job because he was the quickest to respond to my e-mail and then was able to fit me in his schedule the very next day. Lawn now looks terrific and price was very fair as his crew did some additional yard clean up at no additional cost to me. As such, I was very satisfied with Lee's General Landscaping and will continue to employ them to mow and trim my front yard every two weeks from this point forward at a price of $70 per month.

Overall I am satisfied. I wanted to tame and control my yard without elaborate plantings; something that will be relatively low maintenance for the future. Mr. Lee appeared energetic and plain-spoken; I hired him without getting other bids because he looked like an honest, get-the-job done kind of guy. He was kind of cranky and gruff when I tried to discuss details of the work performed with him after the job was done, though. The garden pruning was better than the last company I hired but not super impressive either. For this reason I give them a B. UPDATE: 4/11/2015. Something is deeply wrong with this company. Two years later they send me a bill for $197. 28 with a form that says , We apologize for the delay in billing. I'll say...a bill that arrives TWO YEARS LATE? I called but only received recorded voice mail message to inform them they have misbilled me for services I have never ordered or received.
Description of Work: My garden was a tangle of untended weeds and overgrown shrubs. I called Mr. Lee since I didn't need anything fancy; I needed my garden brought to a presentable state. He showed up and did a walk -thru with me to determine what I wanted. He made recommendations. On the appointed date he brought in a team of people (4) to clear, lay down weedkiller and cover it with beauty bark. They did a lot of shrub and tree pruning. He also bought and planted some irises for me. They did a lot of work over 2 days. It was expensive but they did all the work I'm too lazy to do so I'm satisfied. I might try someone else next time though.

I found Lee through his web site. I prefer to contact businesses via email if possible so we don't have to play phone tag. Lee was quite responsive this way. A team of guys came out for the cleanup. Lee was on site and asked me to inspect their work. I was able to request that a few more bushes and things be cut back, and they took care of it without any additional charge. After the initial cleanup, they returned to mow the lawn until I emailed that we no longer needed them due to the dry spell. The service immediately stopped. I will probably have them out again soon for a fall cleanup.
Description of Work: We had a summer yard cleanup and biweekly lawn mowing through the summer. We have a very large and uneven yard. They charged $60 for the mowing. The cleanup price was comparable to what we have paid before for quarterly cleanups.

Mr. Le responded quickly to my original inquiry (sent via his website). He showed up as promised to walk the yard and provided an estimate before leaving. Unfortunately we ended up rescheduling the start date several times but none of the delays were avoidable (delivery of materials not made on time; weather; and a trip on our part). We started roughly 10 days later than originally planned but still within our overall timeline. As with any contracting job, it helps if the homeowner has a detailed list. We had our list, walked the grounds with Ron and were in complete agreement. Ron checked in over the course of the three days it took for the work - we made a few minor changes based on suggestions made by Ron - we're very happy with the 'course' changes. At one point there were five or six people working in the yard. His team was pleasant and well-mannered, focused, and attentive to detail. This was a hard, dirty job that required the use of wheel barrows for moving most of the gravel and the piles of debrie were moved via shovel and wheel barrow to preserve the surrounding plants. Ron and his team worked hard and were meticulous about clean-up. Prior to Mr. Le, we had received estimates from three other companies. His was not the least expensive nor the most. Often, you pay for what you get and that was the case here. We got excellent value from a man who takes pride in his work and believes in doing the right thing. This is a man who does quality work. One last note, many landscapers are commercial - apparently every bush needs to be pruned in either a sphere or block; Mr. Le actually took time to do asthetic cuts. The resultant pruning jobs have really enhanced the two trees he renovated. We will be using Mr. Le's services in the future.
Description of Work: Regraveling paths and driveway (32 square yards of gravel to give you an idea - gravel was ordered and paid for separately by the homeowner); renovating an absolutely trashed yard (plugged, power raked, soil conditioner, fertilizer, and grass seed); removing 4 trees; asthetically pruning two trees damaged in ice storms; moving several monster piles of yard debris that had accumulated over a number of years (4 to 6 feet high and 10 to 12 feet deep - we live on acreage); cutting back and cleaning up along the edge of 200 foot strip of driveway; and installed a small patio.

Overall - my experiences with Mr. Lee have been great. He is punctual and delivers what he promises.
Description of Work: I have used Mr. Lee approximately 4 times over the course of the last two years to do weeding and yard cleanup. I think he does an excellent job - very thorough. Not one weed is left, the bushes are always trimmed beautifully, and the surrounding areas are always cleaned up. I call him when my yard has gotten out of control and I need some help getting it back to manageable. One suggestion - negotiate with him on pricing. His price point starts ridiculously high if you ask me - example: for a front and back yard cleanup which included cutting back 3 large trees, bushes, as well as weeding and hauling of the yard waste, he initally asked for $550 - we settled on $250 plus dump costs. Each time I've worked with him, pricing has been very different. Granted, the state of my yard has varied, but overall I think you can work with him to get a fair price. I think the work he does is great. In addition, he's quick to return a call and get the work done in a timely manner.

Mr. Lee and his crew of three showed up to do the job. The crew worked hard and generally did a very good job with the weeding, mowing and edging. They were polite and hard-working. After they left, I discovered that they didn't rake up all the gravel before laying the landscape fabric and putting more gravel on top, and there were even some big rocks left under the fabric. When I called Mr. Lee to discuss this, he was argumentative and his manner was very unprofessional. He spoke to me in a demeaning manner, and I decided against him coming back to look at the problem. I didn't want to deal with him again. The low rating reflects Mr. Lee's reaction when I tried to discuss a problem with him. I did not get all that I paid for.
Description of Work: Weeding, edging, and mowing. Also layed landscape fabric between yard and street and placed gravel on top of it.

I checked the list and found Lee's and another landscaper and called them both on a Sunday afternoon. Lee got back to me first thing Monday morning and came out to see the situation. The other guy never responded. I told Lee my budget and we quickly agreed on a price. Lee and two others started at 8am the next morning and were finished by noon. They brought every thing they needed on the first trip and took away all the refuse. My wife was thrilled to come home from work and see a fantastic looking new front lawn. We have always kept our landscape looking as good as we can but it has never looked this good. Several years ago I had a similar sized area re-sodded in the back yard (by another firm that I will never use again),and had to live with piles of sod and a large pile of topsoil partially blocking the sidewalk for over a week so I really appreciated Lee's quick and clean work. Wish I had found him 10 years ago!
Description of Work: Our front lawn needed to be torn out and new sod installed due to other construction that had run a month behind and now we were into the Fall rains and the lawn area was getting muddy. Lee took out the old lawn, cleaned and weeded all the front garden beds, pruned some large shrubs, installed top soil and new sod and made the whole area look perfect. All within just over 24 hours from the time I agreed to use his service and just in time for the new lawn to enjoy the rainy season.

He would come when I wasn't home so I wasn't able to discuss issues, such as weeds in the flower bed. I finally got him on the phone and he said that he would take care of it. He came twice a month and disregarded any request I made to get the weeds out. He put all the grass clippings in my yard waste bin, which I was responsible for. After two months I had to terminate the working relationship.
