Description of Work: I needed to replace a 1970's exterior French door (not really "French" at the time) with a new one in a bedroom. The salesman came out the month prior and looked over the situation and made suggestions plus explained how the work would be done. I already had in mind what I wanted so it was decided upon right there with his catalog: a Therma-Tru full glass door with all the hardware. The installers came out 5/25 and went to work. I wanted the storm door to be re-hung and that took the longest. Not only was the work well executed but I was hard-pressed to find even a glimmer of sawdust left behind. Perhaps Keystone is "priceier" than some but you get what you pay for (the price does not reflect sales tax.)

Description of Work: We visited Keystone and set up a time to get an estimate for a replacement aluminum sliding patio door. The fellow doing the estimate showed up on time, took his measurements, and told me he would provide an estimate in a couple of days. A week passed without any estimate, so I called Keystone and was told by the same person who took the measurements that I would get an estimate the next day. That was a week ago; still no estimate.

 + 1 moreThe price seemed reasonable. They actually called back to follow-up to see if we had any problems or questions, which I thought was nice. I would use them again in the future and would recommend them to others.
Description of Work: They replaced four windows and framed in the windows. They also repaired some sheet rock below the windows that had been damaged from water.

Description of Work: A couple years ago, we bought a home in Kirkland that we love. The biggest problem with the house was the 23 year-old ugly, single pane aluminum frame windows. At the end of 2003, we began interviewing window companies. The process was not easy, and we had a hard time believing we would get the windows we wanted. In February 2004, I met Rob and Michan Rhodes, owners of Keystone Windows and Doors, Inc. I found their very professional web site on the internet and I called to make an appointment for a free estimate. Michan showed us a lot of great pictures and references from previous jobs, and generated an estimate for us on her laptop. From the beginning, I felt that I could trust this company, but we were still nervous about the quality of workmanship and the windows we would be getting. It was a huge project. We had 26 windows to replace. Michan presented us with a list of customers we could contact that would be more than happy to give references for Keystone Windows and Doors, Inc. We scheduled an appointment to see the company's previous jobs. Customers of Keystone Windows and Doors, Inc. told us about the high quality windows and workmanship, a clean work environment and friendly experience. We visited a few houses and we were very pleased with what we saw. We scheduled an appointment to replace our windows. On Monday (the first day of the replacement process), I came home from work and didn't see any remodeling mess. I actually thought no one had come that day, and figured they would probably come tomorrow. Then I went to back of my house and couldn't believe my eyes. There were new windows, beautiful new windows and my house was as clean as I had left it in the morning. I immediately fell in love with my new windows. Michan called that night, and she asked me if everything was ok. My answer was: Michan, I love, I love, I love my new windows, it is more than I expected! Over the next few days my Kirkland house started to look like a million dollars. Every day when I came home from work, my house was clean, with absolutely no remodeling mess. When the job was done we were so happy and pleased. I was ready to hug all the employees of Keystone Windows and Doors, Inc.

 + 0 moreI called Keystone and was set up with an appointment with Carol who was very knowledgeable and down to earth. This was my third bid and I had negative experiences with other remodel projects and was looking for a company that could meet my needs without the high pressure sales techniques. I was unsure of what I wanted and she was able to give me many options and listened to what was important to me. After spending considerable time finding EXACTLY what I was looking for, we signed a contract and the process was started. Rob (owner) came out the next week and did the critical measurements and we talked some more, again I was reassured what I wanted to happen, would happen. The installation was confirmed for about 6 weeks later, and the crew arrived on time. They were also very knowledgeable and communicated beautifully with me about the process. I cannot complement enough Colin and Rom on their wonderful work. My front doors were kind of tricky because my house had settled and they took a lot of time to make sure they worked properly. Carol showed up again on day 2 to see the progress and was just as excited as I was at the work being done. We ended up having an issue with one of the windows and instead of sending me on a goose chase with the window company, Nick followed through with all of the service calls until everything was perfect. This was one of the most painless remodel experiences I have been through. From the time I signed the first check, watched Marcello VACUUM MY YARD (sawdust from cutting trim) then a final visit from Carol 2 weeks after completion to make sure there were no issues, I felt good. This is a small, professional, family run company that made me feel everyone cared about my house. They were not the least expensive bid, but I felt what they charged was fair and the service they supplied was exceptional. I wish they did siding!
Description of Work: I had my front doors replaced with Simpson doors and 7 windows replaced with Milgard fiberglass windows.

 + 0 moreI worked with 5 people at Keystone; Ben, Rob, Collin, Tyler and Nick. Ben was very helpful with window design options. Collin and Tyler did a terrific job installing the windows and doors. As a bonus, Collin reframed the bathroom window adding a sill and molding to match the other windows in the house; I was very pleased with this extra effort on his part. Collin & Tyler arrived on time and left the house very clean after each day s work. There was one small issue with the type of glass on the doors, which Nick and I resolved to my satisfaction. I enjoyed working with the Keystone team and plan to hire them again for installation of several more doors and windows.
Description of Work: Keystone installed 8 Simonton windows and 2 Simpson Exterior doors. Several of the windows required reframing and new sills.

 + -1 moreWe had an appointment for Michan to come and measure our windows and give us an estimate set for 2/21/08 at 5:20pm. Although the appointment was confirmed by email, she never arrived, never called and we were just left, waiting. Although we called their office after waiting 25 minutes, but no one answered. We waited for well over an hour, but no one ever came or called with an explanation. After sending an email to Keystone Windows, we received a response the next day that the appointment hadn't been put on Michan's calendar. We decided against using this company due to this experience, as we were left feeling that we really didn't matter as customers.
Description of Work: No work performed. They didn't bother to shop up for the estimate appointment.
