This guy really knows his stuff. He knew exactly how to deal with a burn such as this. He came to the appointment early (!), and was done in just a little over two hours. I would definitely call him again for anything carpet-related.

I have used John twice now for different jobs. He has stretched carpet, tacked down carpet after water damage. He does a great job and I recommend him. The only reason he doesn't get a perfect score is that he accidentally "dented" some wallboard when reattaching some baseboard. But, he was extremely apologetic and came back to fill in the problem.

He came out promptly and his price seemed reasonable. He does quality work.

he arrived promptly at 8:00am and got right to work. my wife and i had removed most of the furniture but john helped move some big cabinets out of the way. he was careful, efficient, friendly, and knowledgable in his work. i enjoy watching a true craftsman perform his work. he told us things to watch for in the future. we have a big house so he is scheduled to come back in september to stretch three other room carpets and a hallway carpet.

stretched the carpet..... moved the furniture to do the job while I did garden work outside...I came in the job was done, and everything was put back the way it was before he started.

When I called, John's schedule was pretty full but he was able to squeeze in my little job. John was on time and efficient. The carpet looks great. He even suggested that I could vacuum if I wanted before he moved the bed back. I vacuumed while he was doing something else saving time and money. He was pleasant and willing to answer my questions about carpet in general.

We had a hard time trying to find anyone who was interested in doing such a small repair. John showed up when he said he would be there and did the work in the time frame he had stated. We also were going to have him fix a hole that was cut into the carpet but he suggested we leave it as the repair with the patch material we had would make it look more obvious than just leaving it.

I called to get an estimate. He returned my call within a day and walked me through what I wanted done. He estimated it to be two full days of work. He showed up at 8am on the scheduled day and went to work. I did most of the furniture moving but he helped with a few large pieces. He restretched all the carpet in a 3800 sq ft house. He added tack strips where needed and redid quite a few seams. He also redid the carpet on 14 stairs. He was very forthright about what could be fixed via carpet stretching and what could not. We chose not to restretch a few rooms where he didn't think it was needed. Very nice guy and very competent. He was working hard the entire time. He ended up finishing about 3 hours earlier than his phone estimate so the job ended up costing less than the original bid. He charges by the hour for his time but does not charge travel time. He also charges for materials but the amount was minimal. I highly recommend him.

John arrived on time, did the job quicker than he had estimated it would take, and it looks great at a very reasonable price. We helped the job go a bit quicker because we did as John requested by removing or re-positioning some of the heavier or more fragile pieces of furniture beforehand. Great job!

John was on time and the quality of the work is exceptional. When John was done with the repair you couldn't see the seam; it was flawless. We couldn't tell it had ever been damaged. We would definitely recommend him to our friends and call on him again should we need this type of service.

I experienced a water leak in my laundry room which flooded the hall and bedroom carpets. I cut the carpet seams myself and folded the carpet back to dry it and the pad. I damaged the carpet in two small areas where I had tugged too hard along the taped seams and pulled the wool loops through the backing mesh. After drying the carpet in place, John repaired the seams and loops and restretched the carpet to the tack strips. A professional job and friendly guy.

He was great. Although we had to schedule the appointment about a month out due to his busy schedule, it was worth the wait. He gave us an estimate over the phone and the end price was very close to that. It was somewhat more expensive because we chose to use a padding more appropriate for stairs than the padding we had which was from the original wall-to-wall installation. He arrived on time, worked steadily and most professional. He wasn't even noisy! I have to agree with previous reviewers, John is the guy to call.

I had hired John several years ago to patch a small area of carpet that had been scorched by a dropped iron and later to repair an area in a berber carpet that my cat had unraveled. Both times he did an excellent job at a reasonable price, so when I needed to have my living room carpet patched due to the removal of a hearth and the installation of a wall unit, I naturally called him. I left a phone message on Saturday and he got back to me on Tuesday. After listening to what I needed to have done, he offered to come over that afternoon to do it, another job having unexpectedly canceled. He came, worked steadily for about three hours, and left me with a surprisingly unobtrusive carpet patch. If you just need a small repair or installation job, you can't do better than John's Carpet Repair. The price is right, and the quality of work is excellent.

I called the company that installed my carpet less than a year ago to see how much they would charge to come out and fix the shredded area. They quoted me a price of $265. I could not believe they wanted to charge me that much. I started searching around for other companies, and came across this one on angieslist. The reviews were great, so I gave them a call. They were able to come out the next day. They were here less than 15 minutes (which was great because I was able to come home on my lunch break) and the final cost was only $84.04 (their minimum fee is $75). I was so impressed. Thanks again, John!

John arrived on time and assessed the situation. We didn't have extra of the carpet so he was unable to perform the patching services. He recommended that we call Mr. Color who neutralizes the bleach stains and dyes the carpet. I was very happy that John made this referral. He didn't have to. There was zero charge for him to come out. Mr. Color came out and dyed the carpet in 27 small spots and did an outstanding job. I am grateful to John for referring us to another provider that ended up more than fixing the damage left by the idiot house cleaner.

You can see from the photos that we had a hallway without carpet from a carpeted room. Since this hallway was created where none existed and took space from both sides of a wall that was opened up the floor was not level and had tile under part of the carpet. John used a series of different pads to even it all out and even walking on it you can't feel the unevenness of the floor. Since this is going to be temporary until we do this next phase of the project in a year or two it wasn't worth a ton of effort to make the floor perfect but it feels perfect after John's miracle work. You can see the progress through the photos. He also fixed another doorway that we enlarged and I had patched the carpet but it didn't look very good and now it looks perfect. He is fast, professional and the end result looks beautiful. I think Angie's List should make another category for Carpet Repair only and not confuse what he does with installations and sales as this is a specialty and normal installers don't do this kind of work.

He was on time, and even waited several minutes for me to arrive. In the end, he was honest in his evaluation as there was nothing he could do. He was very professional and is just a stand-up person. I enjoyed talking with him, too, as we had some background in common.

He is excellent. I only used him once.

I called on Friday and was able to get them on my schedule for Tuesday because of a cancellation. His office person gave me his rate, how long it would typically take him and how much it would typically cost. They asked that small pieces of furniture be moved out of the way, that large furniture be emptied and that breakable items be moved from the room. When he came, he commented on the dining room table and two cabinets in the dining room ("You have some heavy stuff in there"), but apparently it did not slow him down because he came in under the estimate. He was hard-working, efficient, professional and did a GREAT job. I would not hesitate to recommend him for similar work. I don't think you can go wrong.

Called and his receptionist gave me a rough estimate, and an opening which had come up. John showed up on time, took a look, gave me a conservative estimate of how much he could get done in 2 hours, and when I came back he'd done the whole house after all (avoiding a 2nd trip!).

He was prompt, professional and did a good job. I would definitely call him again.
