JC PENNEY CUSTOM DECORATING

I'm really happy with the window treatments I purchased from JC Penney. Marcia, the design consultant, visited my home and gave me some ideas for window covering for some large and awkwardly shaped picture windows in my living room. I initially had a particular style of blinds in mind, but Marcia showed me the advantages of shutters that would allow light into my living room and at the same time give me a lot of privacy from the street. It took about 12 weeks from the order point until the shutters were ready for installation. Two installers completed the job in about 4 hours, and they did an excellent job installing, cleaning up, and helping me move furniture back into place once they were finished. I get lots of compliments on the shutters from friends and neighbors.

First of all Diana Johnsen came out to my Bellevue home to measure the windows and take a look at the rooms. We talked about what I had in mind and then we picked a day for her to bring some samples over. When the day came she arrived right on time and had already picked out some samples she thought would go well with the decor. I loved the samples she recommended and decided to go with those, since I couldn't find a better match myself looking through the fabric books. Diana is a talented decorator and was extremely helpful and knowlegable in making suggestions about how my room might be improved by moving certain pieces of furniture, or adding this or taking away that. She submitted our order and told us when to expect the window treatments to arrive. In fact, all the items were finished much earlier than promised, which was a nice surprise. My blinds and valance were installled about a month ago and I am very happy with them. All in all I am very glad I chose Diana and JC Penney to do the job.

They were up front about the price. We thought it was very fair. As soon as I made the call I received a call back shortly after. They listened so careful to what I said I wanted and they brought many fabrics for us to look at. They took all the measurements for the windows and promised if there was anything wrong they would replace it for free. The fabric for one window was way too long and they kept their word by replacing it at no charge. All the rest of the drapes were perfectly fit. I am so pleased with how beautifully the drapes turned out. They even came back to check that we were happy with everything.

She was from the Bellevue Square store. She moved very slowly, had only a few samples, seemed unfamiliar with the products and how to price out the shades. She suggested products that not only did she not have any samples but there were none in the showroom. Why would I choose something I couldn't view a sample of? When I asked which window coverings were on sale, she had no clue. Also didn't know about the add in the paper and displayed all over the showroom advertising 60-70% off. The whole experience drug on forever.... That is 3 1/2 hours that I will never get back. I finally got her to leave. I tried to be nice but I wanted to scream. Now she wants to come back to measure the rest of the windows that she couldn't get to. I don't think so. Also the prices she was able to get for me were a lot higher that the quotes I got from other companies later on.

Please use extension (5), when you call the Northgate Mall to get Brian. We have used him now twice, in 6 years and could not be happier. He his so kind and works so hard with you to find just the right drapery for your home. You will be so glad you used him, if you need drapes or blinds.
