2013We were happy to find this service when Verizon sold our service to Frontier. Immediately, the service went down hill with all the connections. Yes, we are rural, but that shouldn't matter. It was major to get all the lines "ported over" from Frontier to Isomedia, but we were excited that we would have something reliable with internet speed and service in our area. Occasionally, we would have down times, but not serious. Then, in February 2013, the entire system went down. My husband was home alone at that time and I was out of town. We were right in the middle of a crisis with our business and suddenly there was no way to communicate. The outage lasted for 4 days and during that time my husband's only means of communicating was to take his laptop to a local Starbucks and work from there. Yes, Isomedia and Frontier were all pointing fingers and no one would take responsibility for the problem or even attempt to find the problem. To complicate matters, this occurred on a weekend and the Isomedia tech only worked limited hours. Eventually, Frontier agreed to change out the router (which we had to pay for) because it was defective. Now, with the new "refurbished" router, we are still having connection problems. Sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't. sometimes we have connections and at other times it is sporadic. We called Isomedia yet again, and again they are pointing fingers at Frontier and Frontier is pointing fingers at Isomedia. In the meantime, we get a hit on our checking account for $90.15 for the monthly service. I called Isomedia to ask for a partial refund (which is in their contract) and today I get a response back from the accounting department stating that the first incident was beyond the 90 days (which is NOT in the contract) and no mention of a refund for the latest incident. Buyer beware. Something has happened at Isomedia which is affecting their reputed customer service. Because we have the monthly service charge deducted from our checking account, we have no recourse with our bank. Angie's list is our only way of warning other customers or potential customers of the hazard of doing business with this company.
Description of Work: We have had VoiP and internet with this provider since November of 2010. Connected to this service is our internet, phone service and until 2 years ago what we thought was a fax service.

Very well.
Description of Work: Isomedia has been my ISP for the last 20 years, and the company currently provides me DSL service (256K for $22.95/mo). Prices are not as good as QWest, since they are resellers of QWest DSL and QWest makes sure it has the competitive edge. However, I have stayed with Isomedia because their service is good and "down home." There is rarely more than a couple minutes' wait to get through to a technician, and they do seem to work h****** resolving any issues (which often turn out to be QWest ones). Perhaps the only down side is that the DSL speeds offered by Isomedia for personal/home use are limited. I believe 1.5 Mb is the top. I am reluctantly moving to another ISP only because of the price--$58/month for basic 1.5 MB DSL, as compared to QWest's $25/month promotion (regularly $45) for the same speed. I may regret this decision and know that I will be giving up what has been a very easy, no-hassle relationship with a small company that has met my needs well.
