We are halfway through this project, so I do not have full information. However, it is already very clear that Tom is a great general contractor and does beautiful carpentry. GC - The project is running like clockwork, despite a couple surprises when we tore out the walls. The subcontractors come and go and I'm barely aware of it. Tom has excellent relationships with subs and has a network of trustworthy people he can rely on. We did not get other bids for this project - we may have gotten a slightly lower bid but I doubt it would be going so smoothly right now. Carpentry - The main feature of the remodel is a curved dividing wall with shelves for TV, components and display on the living room side, and appliances and cabinetry on the kitchen side. This is the most complex part of the project and the biggest reason I chose Tom. The wall is nearly finished and looks wonderful; I can't wait till we're enjoying the new kitchen.

Haak was excellent. The doors are excellent, we could not be happier. He had great attention to detail and was able to match the doors to the architecture of the house.

The work was estimated to take 5 weeks, it took 4.5. Tom masked the bathroom off from the rest of the house to limit the dust and dirt. There was progress on the job each day (he and his team take weekends off). The team gutted the room, roughed in the plumbing and window, then the electricity. The walls were sheetrocked and the heated floor then the tile installed. The room was painted, the cabinet and fixtures installed, and everything was polished/cleaned up until it was gleaming. Tom worked only on this job during the 5 weeks. He arrived each morning promptly at 8:00. He was on the job every day, always present when subcontractors were working. He is an excellent problem solver, worked well with our architect, and kept the job site clean. He's conscientious, trustworthy, approachable, experienced and easy to get along with. The estimate for the job and the final cost were within $500 of each other. The job was finished ahead of schedule and better than I could have hoped. We did not have any conflicts and enjoyed working with Tom. We're hoping to have him remodel our kitchen this coming fall. Haak Construction is an excellent company!
