Gu-Wi, Gutters and Windows

Gu-Gutters is an excellent choice for replacing, repairing, or cleaning your gutters. My project was replacing both the roof and then new gutters as the old gutters were physically attached to the old roof. Gu-Gutters responded quickly and provided a fair estimate. The company was then very patient as I reviewed several other estimates and after selecting theirs they kept me informed of every step of the process. The seamless gutters were planned and set to conform to my roofing specifications then were created on site and installed with precision. One of the most important parts of any project is the follow up; Gu-Gutters checked back on installation and performance and (most importantly) cheerfully returned to perform the minor tweaks required for the project to move from the “well done” column into the “exceptional job” column. I highly recommend Gu-Gutters; fair price, no hidden costs, excellent installation, and exceptional follow through. Gu-Gutters receives my “Most honorable company” citation.

Very good service. The team was transparent, honest and willing to meet my needs, even in phases. Clear and itemized quote. Good follow ups on appointment time, what to expect, etc.

They were efficient, courteous and respectful of the property. They pointed out some areas of my home that needed TLC but there was no pressure to add service or cost.

On the morning of January 10, 2023, Gu-Wi's technician, Sergio, cleaned the gutter at my house. Unfortunately, a water leak occurred during the cleaning, resulted in serious water damages on the hardwood floor, subfloor and crawl space, which costed me more than $5000 to repair. I reached out Gu-Wi several times and they claimed they would not take any responsibilities. They said Sergio only performed his work outside the house, so they would not be responsible for any interior damages. I can't believe they don't understand (or reject to acknowledge) the water pipe used by Sergio is connected to the inside. I received their invoice today (April 22rd, 2023). They want to charge me more than the quote. I can't believe they even want to charge a 3% merchant service fee if the payment is made by credit or debit card. A company is not willing to take responsibilities for damages caused by their employees. Instead, they just want charge more from the customers. Keep away from this company.

I found GuWi here on Angi’s list and their reviews were good so I contacted them. Now I see why. Follow up to my online request was very fast. I was offered the option to have the work done the very next day. Wut?? Yes. That happened to be a day when I wasn’t going to be home but my gutters were a mess & the company says in their online FAQ that you don’t need to be home so I took a deep breath & said yes. I should not have worried. Cesar, the tech, did terrific work. The gutters, roof and newly cleaned skylights look great. (I deeply regret not taking before & after pictures. You’d have been impressed!) The leaves, fir needles & other tree debris that had settled on my roof are gone. It looks tidy and clean. The gutters, which had been at least half full of fir needles then topped off with maple leaves, were completely cleaned out. And Cesar cleaned up after himself beautifully, which is saying something considering the guck he must have pulled out of those gutters! I saw no trace of gutter guck anywhere and he even blew the leaves off my whole driveway & back deck. I am very pleased with the quality of the work and the cost. Working with GuWi was easy. Communication was fast & much of it happened via text, which I quite like. Pricing was competitive with other service providers & their methods & products are earth-friendly and focused on preserving the life of the roof. I will definitely hire them again. (Indeed I’m about to schedule them to add a new section of gutter to a dormer.)

Fantastic job! I have a 1908 two story Craftsman with a zillion fussy little windows and there isn’t a streak to be found! They also power washed the house and it looks like new. No need to paint! The crew was nice as could be and very thorough. I’m now a customer for life. Highly recommend!

Would not recommend. Really poor experience. I had seen the GuWi truck around my neighborhood so I wanted to have them come quote on my job. My house needed new gutters and also had some rotting on the existing fascia. I wanted to have new fascia installed where needed and then have the trim on the soffit and fascia repainted. GuWi was the only vendor who could take on all phases of the project and was competitive in their quote. I had a lot of trouble with getting clear communication as to what was happening with the project. Initially a crew came out to remove the old gutters and boards. This took about 3 weeks to do, which was longer than what the estimate given to me by the owner was. During this time, I had a front yard full of old gutters, nails, and other debris from the demo work. I have two small boys who get into everything so this was not optimal. New fascia and soffit boards were installed, however the larger soffit board directly under my front entry way was very poor quality, full of pits and knots. The crew that came to demo and eventually replace and prime the new fascia were spotty at best, showing up intermittently. I had to call GuWI several time to affirm that they were still working on the job. The crew did not wear masks (unless coming into my house to use the bathroom). There were also numerous cigarette butts left around my property. They left their tools out unsecured scattered around my patio over several days. The kicker was after priming the trim, they painted it the complete wrong color. The owner explained that this was on him as he had errantly communicated the wrong color (a dark gray instead of the white color my wife and I had specified in previous communications). I didn’t realize this was happening as the crew was working well into the dark (after around 4:30pm in November). After inspecting the work, the crew was also sloppy and took shortcuts, getting paint on brick areas of my home and primer overspray on my grill cover and patio, and several other areas. A new painter came onto the job who repainted the trim the correct color, however because the initial color was so dark, it was still showing through after one coat. Subsequently, the crew arrived to finally install the new gutters (and remove the old gutters) however there was no communication with me prior, and I had to point out to them that the trim still needed another coat prior to installing the gutters. The team decided to measure and cut the new gutters (but not install them) and left them in my front yard. It then took another call with the owner and another week before the painter could come back to do another coat. While the second painter did a better job than the first, crew, there were still areas where the dark gray was showing through or had been over sprayed. Also, because of the lighter paint color, the poor quality board used above the entry way was much more visible. The team finally came back to install the gutters, but installed the wrong downspouts (I had paid extra for upgraded downspouts). They had to return again to finish the installation and this occurred without any prior communication and around 8pm on a Friday night. After the install, I asked the new painter to try to touch up and fill in some areas, but much of it was out of his ability. There were also numerous materials left next to my garage (gutter off-cuts, old downspouts, spray paint cans, packaging refuse) that I had to ask to be removed after the work had been completed. Almost 2 months later and the new gutters and downspouts were finally installed and seem to work, but overall I was very disappointed with GuWi, the lack of project management oversight and communication, professionalism from the sub-contractors, and the lack of attention to detail on my job. The owner communicated that this had never happened to him on a project before, which didn’t leave me feeling any better or more satisfied with the project. I also paid the invoice on-time but subsequently received emails for weeks that I had not yet submitted payment. My wife had to email to ask them to stop. I would not recommend GuWi for any type of work if you value your time and/or your home’s appearance.

They showed up on the agreed date and were very prompt. Guys were very professional. Only real concern is the quote was slightly higher than others but I was don’t go with cheapest bid if their reputation is good. I would use them again for other gutter or roof maintenance and/or repair.

It went well. A worker arrived early on the expected date, and took a look at the gutters. Everything was frozen, so he was unable to proceed. He was able to come back later in the day when the gutters had thawed, and he was joined by somebody else who cleaned the windows. They kept working despite the dimming light and increasing cold. They were very professional, and everything looks good.

I was very pleased with the contacts with the company, including estimating, office and scheduling. They even were able to complete the job a week earlier than they predicted. Very satisfied.

I have been using this company for three years, they do very good job and the price is very reasonable.

It was absolutely fantastic. Our 20 years old house looked newly painted. It was miraculous.

Over all the work done was good. However, there’s an issue with one of the downspouts and I have tried for 3 weeks to get the issue resolved and I have gotten no where. They have already been paid so there’s no incentive to correct the issue.

Gu-Wi did a wonderful job of cleaning the house gutters on my home, they also wiped down the outsides of the gutters at my request. They were very polite and profession, a credit to the awesome Gu-Wi team. I wanted to pass on that “way to go!” for them. I’ve also highly recommended Gu-Wi to the neighbors.

Gu-Wi kept me informed about a delay in their schedule due to snow, but rescheduled promptly. I appreciated the before and after photos they provided showing what they did. Overall I was very satisfied with their work!

Really great all around. Gu-Wi was the most responsive contractor I contacted for an estimate. They arrived on time, had the best price, and did excellent work. They worked with my insurance when insurance had questions about the scope of work. The workers themselves took extra time to inform me I had a clogged drain that my old downspout was tied into. They then spent extra time to redirect my downspout water away from the house. They could have done the quick thing, tied into the existing blocked drain and I may not have noticed for months. I wouldn't even have blamed them! So, I truly appreciated their integrity on this. I'd definitely work with them again. Lastly, I loved their online estimate and payment system. Very slick and professional.

These guys came out and gave me a super fast and fair quote! So far they have been exceptionally professional! Looking forward to hiring them for the repair. Update- We had these guys come and do the work a few months after quote. They honored prices, scheduled quickly, came out and did a fabulous job. I called a few places and this company was responsive. You will be so satisfied after using this amazing outfit. Lots of emails and communication. Easy to pay. They pick up the phone! Exceptional!

Bidder arrived and within a few days, based on price and responsiveness and conversation with owner, Danny, I decided to hire Gu-Wi. I settled on date for work to be done and no one showed up nor did I receive a phone call. So I called inquiring about no-show. I got a long, drawn out story about a possible employee issue from the owner, Danny, and 1 hour later another phone call from another employee with TMI about employee issues. I cut him off and asked to be called back to setup another date. Later that evening I got an apology via email from a Cydian Kauffman (?) but to date no other callback. Very surprised and disappointed.

Very well. They took a bit longer to respond with an estimator, but that was probably due to a heavy workload (reason for the only "B" rating). That said, they responded quicker than any other company. The employees onsite were professional and they left the area clean; the office team was responsive and also very professional. I appreciated the pictures they provided and we were not asked to pay until the work was completed.

My experience with Gu-Wi Gutters & Windows was exceedingly positive. I whole heartedly recommend Gu-Wi Gutters & Windows for anyone whose time is already stretched thin. I was able to arrange everything over the phone. Becky booked their technician to visit my home and provide a quote. Once I accepted the quote via internet, Becky got me on their schedule. Alethea send me pictures of the work being done on my roof and gutters. And I was able to pay my bill with my credit card online. Best of all was the results of my moss free roof and debris free gutters thanks to Jason and his crew. A little pricey in comparison to the competitors yet TOTALLY worth it!

Gu-Wi was the 4th company I called today. My gutter disconnected from the roof so I was trying to find someone who could complete repairs promptly and professionally. Danny took all the particulars (square footage, type of roof, roof pitch, and number of stories) from me and offered to send someone out to me same day to keep damage to a minimum at a reasonable price. He pulled Nathan off another job since he is a repair specialist. Nathan was here right on time and just great, going above and beyond. Would definitely use them again!

We had a recent renovation inside and I haven't cleaned my windows in some time. I emailed Gu-Wi and I got a phone call from Becky. Then a few days later I had a quote from Brandon and Chris. Very friendly and when I said when they were available, they said they could do it the next day. I said great!! Kai showed up the next day at 8:30 a.m. After finding out he didn't have the right tools, came back and he started. It started to snow!! Kai was working outside in the cold cleaning my windows. He stayed the whole day, cleaned the outside, inside, my screens and the tracks of the windows. It probably was 30 degrees outside but he stayed until 6. What a pro and a nice guy!! Everything is beautiful and I can see the wonderful sights outside!! Then Brandon followed with a phone call to see how the job went and they also followed up with pictures of the beautiful "after." I recommend Gu-Wi whole heartedly!!

This company went above and beyond when we noticed our gutters were clogged. They were very responsive with a quote and scheduling a time - our cleaning was originally set to take place on the recent "Snowpocalypse" Seattle saw. I was contacted with plenty of notice when it had to be rescheduled. The online invoicing tool was super convenient as well and there were no surprises with the very reasonable price I was quoted. As far as the job itself, Miguel did really nice work. Before and after photos were taken, absolutely no mess was left behind and the windows looked fabulous after cleaning. We moved into our house in August and I'm happy to say Gu-wi has earned our business for a very long time!
