GROW BY DESIGN

The company bid on our project and requested a 50% deposit for the work which was paid. The start date came and went without any communication from the company. When I reached out to them I was told they were going out of business and would not be able to perform the work. A deposit refund request was made and I was told it couldn't be done immediatly because they were waiting on payment from other clients. The lack of communication and having the refund payment delayed on multiple occasions was frustrating. Eventually my deposit was returned and the owner was apologetic for the situation.

I've belonged to the Chicago Angie's List chapter for several years now and this is the first time I have submitted a report. I believe this company really deserved it. My husband and I recently bought a home in Seattle and while working from my Chicago office, Andrea and Andrew from Grow by Design kept me informed visually, posting progress photos weekly to Shutterbug web site while changing/remodeling our yard in Seattle. They gave me confidence and reassurance not only visually, but talking weekly about the transformation that was taking place. There wasn't any mess for me to clean up either, which I really appreciated. That's partly why I hire such services, so they can address my repairs start to finish including clean up. Lastly, they stayed very close to the budget and the end result was better than I had hoped for. They know their industry VERY well and answered many questions for me, no matter how many times I called or emailed. In fact, the start to finsh time of the entire remodel was 3 weeks. I only wish the service providers I use here in the Chicago area, shared those same ethics and professional values. I couldn't be happier with the results. I wish there was a way to show you before and after pictures, as I believe the photos speak for themselves.
