We went with Greenwood because we heard that they would take care of us, even though they were more expensive. We had a great experience with the first walkthrough with a knowledgable expert, but every interaction since has been poor. We had several issues with the installation; they had to come back several times. Five years later, the water pump with the furnace broke and they take care of it, but it costs $900. They take care of us, but continue to be expensive. I highly recommend avoiding this company and finding a business that knows what their doing and where all technicians care about the customer.

I have NEVER felt the level of frustration I have for Greenwood heating. It will be difficult to list all the things that went wrong, so I will be brief. After 6 visits (and several thousands of dollars), it was finally discovered the problem was a faulty sequencer. This was after being without heat in the middle of the last cold snap (13 degrees) without heat for two months. They sold me on the warranty coverage, but somehow every new visit was not covered. In fairness, they did reverse one of the charges after I brought this up. The final straw was today. When they replaced the thermostat originally, they did not provide a user manual nor instruction, and somehow the unit was stuck with the fan constantly running. This was confirmed as a flawed unit by another electrical company. My electric bill when up four thousand dollars AND it burned out my electrical panel- 16 thousand dollars. I asked for a new, functioning thermostat and they installed it today- again, somehow not covered and they had the audacity to charge me another three hundred dollars. All the individual techs were nice and polite, but I suggest you steer well clear of using this business!

Of the eight companies who bid, Greenwood did the best assessment of the somewhat quirky situation my old house presented. The estimator came just a few days before the big freeze in January, and they were able to schedule installation within two days. Once the installers were on site, there was some confusion re where various components would go, but a phone call to the company cleared that up within an hour. From then on the heat pump installation went smoothly and professionally, the electricians did a quick and effective job of hooking it up to the service, and the site was left clean. I did not understand at first how to operate the thermostat, given that the Mitsubishi owners manual was of limited help, and per my request a rep from the company came out a few days later to give me a tutorial about what the range of settings can do. From then on the system has operated flawlessly and lives up to its reputation.

We requested emergency weekend service. For this, we are in their Green program--we pay some large amount of money every year to guarantee we will get someone out during off hours. Well, here's what happened. Our boiler went out. But natural gas was continuing to flow through the system. The only thing keeping us safe was an old exhaust fan which, thankfully, kept working. The tech that Greenwood sent out admitted he was new to boilers. So he couldn't find anything wrong (my son had already restarted the boiler.) However, we could clearly see that the flames were yellow rather than blue and that the ignition assembly was not functioning as desired. So that tech left after not finding the issue and charging us well over $500. On monday, I found a new company which does service boilers. They came out and immediately found the VERY OBVIOUS problem that the ignition assembly gas line was disconnected! This meant that gas was, indeed, free flowing into the boiler case. This could have had a very unsafe outcome for us, and I am quite disappointed in Greenwood. Adding to that is my question: why was the assembly disconnected? Did the weekend guy do it? Or, Greenwood had been out the previous week to do a yearly check on the boiler. Could be a coincidence? Further, while the weekend phone person was very friendly, when I called on Monday, I was met with one of the most belligerent phone operators ever. I have paid Greenwood so much money, and and received worse than nothing in return. Add to that, we are lucky our house didn't fill with gas and blow up. Or, with all the yellow, rather than blue, flames, a carbon monoxide situation. Not ideal!

So far, so good. No concerns. Very professional and responsive. Quick instalation.

We had an install from Greenwood in our new home and it is amazing! The staff was so kind and cleaned everything up, and the AC and heat works great. This is a company I would highly recommend!

It went really good. Jordan was very polite. Actually, he was very knowledgeable and educated me a lot. Within 2 hours he got everything fixed. He was very prompt.

It was awesome, the technician there was two of them on site and they know exactly what they are doing. They cleaned up after themselves when they left everything worked perfect. They just did an amazing job. I own multiple properties in this economy, fourth time. I've used them and I highly recommend them to anybody looking for HVAC. Highly recommend, simple the best.

TL/DR: Poor communication and expectation setting resulted in an unexpected $2000 bill. Standard service calls come with a heaping side of HARD UPSELL We've had extensive work done with Greenwood: - Upstairs splits and a tankless water heater installed 2021 - Main/lower A/C installed and electrical upgrade work in 2022 We triple bid the 2021 work and Greenwood was the most expensive, but Kris, the estimator, was by far the most buttoned up and knowledgeable of the lot so we went with them and things went well enough we came back for additional work this year. Then things fell apart. The A/C when installed this year ran nonstop for two weeks unless we literally flipped the fuse. Turned out it was because the furnace had loose parts that had gotten knocked when Greenwood serviced it the winter prior. Next up the electrical, which we thought was finished in July (contract was signed in June). Over the past few months, though, Greenwood has sent people out to do things outside that have never been fully explained. Then we get a bill from the city for $2030 to connect the upgrade - five months after contract was signed. We are thoroughly confused - Greenwood assured us the work was done. Only to find out they meant THEIR side was done and there's the whole city side...and to be very, very clear, it's on me to know that and to remember that I signed a contract that says "Electrical connection from City to new mast is also not included. Each home is reviewed by utility and fee applied after review. Fee must be paid before connection made and it typically is between $550 and $1200.00." Carissa made VERY sure when I called upset that I understood any frustration and surprise is entirely my fault. I mean we, as customers, are supposed to understand "we're done" does NOT mean the project is done and that an estimate can be off by $800 - $1500, and finding this out 5 months later is entirely our problem, not theirs. Silly me. Now for the service. Since I had the one-year-out free service for the tankless and splits, I also had them service the furnaces (there are two). The furnaces are 9 years old and the technician recommended I replace them as they are "end of life." Ummm...no. Then he tried to upsell me on next year's service that would cost more than the what I would have to pay for the individual units since the A/C would be under the one-year-out. When I pointed out that math didn't work, he tried to sell it instead to my husband...because his math skills are poorer than mine? We had our old house serviced by Day and Night - they were cheaper with zero upsell and will be getting all our future business. As for HVAC and electrical moving forward? Back to the triple-bid drawing board and if you decide to use Greenwood, make sure you are VERY well versed on each step in the process, have a fat $$ buffer, and ask them to cc you on every email with the city (something they will not otherwise do) as you need to be your own project manager.

We are beyond frustrated, we had Greenwood out yesterday to diagnose and repair our AC unit as it is doing the same thing that it did 2 years ago when it stopped blowing cold air. Back then, Greenwood came out diagnosed and fixed it under warranty. This time was a completely different situation. Our technician came out spent maybe 10 total minutes looking at our unit (he was on our property smoking and checking his cell phone for the majority of the time in his truck) then presented us with a diagnostic bill of $391 and an estimate of $5,000+ on a fix he couldn't say exactly what it would be but that it would be around $5,000+. When I asked him why he could not tell me exactly what the problem is or verify that it was the same problem that was fixed under warranty a few years ago he replied he didn't come prepared with the proper tools! I asked him if we still had to pay the $391 for the so called diagnosis and we were told yes. This is NOT ok to say the least, the fact we were lied to on the phone (when we made the appointment we were told it was an appointment to fix our unit) when we made our appointment and then charged $391 for nothing being done and further being high balled on a bid of $5,000 is unreal. It needs Freon just like it did last time and the coil that was defective last time is more than likely the same culprit. We are going to proceed with speaking with the Better Business Bureau and Attorney General . What a terrible way to treat previous customers, being mislead and lied to is just not ok.

Worked with Greenwood Heating and Air on a furnace replacement and only have excellent things to say about the company and team. Customer service, pricing, timeliness, thoroughness, and friendliness were top notch. Contacted them initially for an inspection of our 28-year old furnace. The technician Frej was prompt, thorough, and courteous, explaining in detail the issues we might face with this still working but old units. Based on the findings we reached out for a quote on a system replacement. Lori took diligent care in listening to our concerns and hopes for a new system, recommending systems that might work for our household. She was always available for follow-up questions, providing answers that really helped us decide on getting a new system (Trane XC80 furnace with air scrubber) via Greenwood H+A. Prices were fair, on par with expectations and quotes from other businesses. On the day of the install, the team at Greenwood H+A, including Jake, Jordan, and Jason were very flexible, coordinating with the roofing company we had hired to take down our chimney and replace with a vent, to get the project moving on time. They were all very communicative, which we appreciated, and gave us regular updates on the progress. They finished what seemed like a big job within the day, despite the install occurring in our cramped crawl space. Our house is now toasty warm again with a great new furnace and all the bells and whistles. Would definitely recommend them for similar job, including for custom requirements as was our case with the roof. Thanks!

What a great experience. We received a competitive quote the same day and four days later the new tank was in. Communication was timely and the technician was right on time. I especially appreciated the text received thirty mins prior to arrival that included a picture of the technician. We will definitely call Greenwood again should the need arise.

Professional and courteous. They're not going to do you any favors but their service is solid. They fixed a leak on my Mitsubishi Mr. Slim ductless mini-split (a heater/ac wall unit). First, one of their techs came out to diagnose. He checked some stuff, found that there was no refrigerant and scheduled an LSR tech (leak, search and repair). Diagnosis: $215 The LSR tech came out, checked the system and found that there was a loose valve. He tightened it and checked the system and we were good to go. He evacuated the system and charged it with refrigerant. He also did maintenance on the outside unit. It looked pretty clean after he was done. Nitrogen Leak Check System (bubble test for leaks): $651 Repair Each Leak and test: $193 per fix Evacuate System: $432 Charge System with Refrigerant: $491 Subtotal: $1982 Yup, two thousand dollars. This is Seattle for you and not sunny Los Angeles. They probably could have taken off the fix charge but I get it. Either way, they fixed my system and I'm happy. I would recommend Greenwood based on their solid service and professionalism. If you're getting an AC unit fixed get quotes! I submitted requests for quotes after the diagnosis and out of the 5 or 6 companies that I contacted nobody would give me a quote and they wanted to send out their own tech to diagnose. But I already had a diagnosis. So I just went with Greenwood. I hope this helps someone out there. My AC is ice cold and I'm happy. Maybe it'll spit out popsicles!

Quick and efficient. Brad and Rob did a quick and clean install. We had a split AC in place and they got their electrician out quickly and he made the fix in the electrical panel. They sales rep had a bit of a problem with bringing up the financing on his computer, but, it all worked out.

The servicing was more thorough than in the years past. The technicien was knowledgeable and gave clear explanations of what was done and what needed to be done. I will on Monday get a new hot water heater and a new furnace and will let you know how the installation goes.

My experience with Greenwood Heating and Air Conditioning has been entirely positive. From my free estimate appointment through finished installation, the process was seamless. Each and every representative of theirs has been exceptional. Trevor negotiated a very competitive, all inclusive price for the entire system and followed up on the day of installation to see how everything was going. The install was expertly performed by an industry pro, Andril, with 17 years plus experience. Follow-up has been exceptional. Greenwood Heating has earned my unequivocal recommendation.

We had an excellent experience with Greenwood. The old furnace started to have an intermittent problem which became serious after a couple of months. The tech was finally able to see the problem and presented us with several options. There was never a "hard sell" - he left the decision entirely with us. We decided to go with a new furnace which was installed the day after the tech came. The top priority for the techs and the company is to get the job done right and leave the customer happy.

First appointment was a week out(Friday) from original call which was ok since furnace was still running. Reggie arrived within the specified window calling ahead to verify that arrival time was ok. I showd him to the furnace and had him listen to the sound on a video I had made. He agreed that the fan motor was going bad. He called the parts warehouse and ordered the part. Told me it would be at his office on Monday. Made repair appointment for Wednesday. Gave me estimate of repair and got my OK. Arrived on Wednesday and completed repair in half an hour. Tested. AOK. Reggie put on "booties" on both visits to avoid bringing in dirt/wet. Everything was explained clearly. Cost was as provided on first visit. Very satisfied with the whole experience.

Routine service for a heat pump and 5 mini-duct heads. No parts, simply cleaned the heads, filters, and coils and ran some diagnostics on the heat pump (or so he said). Spent 1 hour and 40 minutes. Charged $474. They installed the units 2 years ago (no problem there), but this is a complete scam. Was not provided an itemized receipt either. Will not use them for service again. For that money I can clean the filters myself.

Seemed to go really well. Professional and friendly staff, did a good job cleaning up afterward. Haven't had any extreme weather, but so far the unit works well.

Our old gas furnace died during the series of snowstorms in February. Stephan came out the day after we called, to give us the bad news that the unit was so old, no replacement parts were available so the whole thing would have to be replaced. Not really surprising given the age of the unit. He also showed me where the water heater (of similar vintage) was corroding around the outlet pipe, so was also in need of replacement. Kris came out within a couple of hours to look over the house and recommended a couple of options. We were leaving town so installation was delayed a couple of days; otherwise we could have had everything done within 48hours of the initial call. The crew that showed up to do the installation (sorry I forgot your names) showed up promptly at 8AM, worked throughout the day, and left our basement cleaner than it started out.

$200 arrival fee and assessment. Charged us $200 for a part available on Amazon for $25. I’m sure this was a penalty for living in a desirable neighborhood.

Two separate issues here. I called Greenwood Heating and Air because they seemed to have the typical price for servicing a furnace, which was $165 (however, their $165 price was after a $30 discount - offered to everyone). Over the phone, I asked them what it would cost to replace the customer-owned thermostat, but they would not quote me a price until the service tech actually came out for the service call. I was shocked when I was told at the service call that it would be an additional $190 for a estimated half hour install. When I called the supervisor to ask about this pricing, she was very condescending with me. She finally offered a 5% discount, but I feel it was a bait and switch. At least they could have advised over the phone it is a $190 minimum for the thermostat install. If we had known that, we would have gone with a different company for both projects. We did NOT have them install the thermostat, we did have them do the furnace servicing, which seems to have gone OK. However, we would never use them again, and do not recommend them. UPDATE (10/16/2018): The vice president of the company called after reading our review. He apologized for how the original call was handled (not quoting a minimum amount for the additional service). He also apologized for how the call was handled today when we contacted the office upset over the additional $190 now quoted. He indicated this situation will be handled internally as a training opportunity and was sorry for the poor customer service. We appreciated his call.
