We are a small family owned business in Seattle, offering environmentally friendly building products, such as, flooring, countertops, cabinetry, lumber, insulation, tile, finishes, plumbing products, and much more!
They did an amazing job. We had to wait about six weeks for their schedule to align with ours, which was fine. We moved our light furniture and items downstairs, but the heavy furniture (beds, cough, table, recliner) stayed upstairs and they worked around it. Product is Teragren Bamboo Synergy Strand, narrow plank. The quoting process was straightforward and they ensured delivery and terms were clear and worked well for our schedule. They removed carpets throughout the upper level and on the stairs. Once the carpet was out, they saw that the floors were nowhere near as level as they needed to be. They'd flagged an area of concern before during quote and indicated that we'd need to remove the carpet to be sure what we were dealing with, but we all hoped that it would be something that could be sanded down for height. Unfortunately, the entire floor was nowhere near level. The stairs were also crumbling and needed work before they could be completed. They added several days and $3000 to level the floors properly and let them dry. They worked for days with a long level, making everything exactly right. We had a few other minor surprises - our balusters were too short with the new floor and had to be replaced (I purchased a set from Home Depot and they figured out how to install them on the spot). The work wound up taking two and a half weeks instead of one week, given the extra work and the time needed for the level to set (and a holiday weekend). They had to shuffle a lot of schedules around, but continued working steadily on our floor until it was complete. Some hiccups are always expected in a project this size, and they handled them all professionally. No drama, no cut corners, no arguments. Gave answers if I asked any questions at all (and I do hang out and ask questions, which can be annoying, but I like to know what's in my house). I appreciated the professionalism shown, and the real attention to detail. There is literally nothing I would ask them to do better. Even running over scheduled time, the details were all seen to at the end as well as they were at the beginning.

The people at GreenHome Solutions are super helpful, even when you are just browsing. Tess was great at emailing information about the countertop material we selected. The installation went well, with careful attention to detail. There are a couple of seams around the stove that are virtually invisible.

Drew did the estimates (several for me) and took care of every thing with the installer ( who was a perfectionist) . Drew made every thing easy for me as did the installer even though the old house of mine put up some challenges. Drew is one of the sales persons at Green home solutions. The results are amazing. The workmanship is outstanding. I couldn't be more pleased with the installer and Drew. This was also the lowest bid for the work!
Description of Work: measured and installed novustone recyleced glass countertops. Fixed old cabinets to be plumb and straight before installation.

I wanted to replace some carpeting with wood flooring in a condo, and initially knew nothing about what was involved in that. I stopped in because the store was nearby, appeared to carry high quality products, and also tended towards more and quot;eco friendlyand quot; options. Cameron was very helpful in explaining flooring options, pros/cons of each, and guiding me through the product decision process. It was definitely more helpful -- and felt more honest -- than the info I received in other larger chain flooring stores. Cameron worked with me to select a material that was within my target budget and availability schedule, and made the whole transaction quite easy once I decided to move forward. Communication was great, and I appreciated his patience with me through the process. In the end, I'm happy to support a small local business, and feel that I got a good price on a quality product.

Very nice products. Have not used, yet, as not sure which product we want. They have beautiful environmental products and very helpful staff. Just not sure if the products are right for us, such as wool carpeting that we read must be vacuumed often to keep moths away. We are going to put in rooms where vacuuming around large furniture will be difficult. Too bad because the rugs are beautiful and not that expensive. If you want green products, or just nice products, this is a great place to check out.

For our new kitchen counter we wanted one of the and quot;ecoand quot; surfaces (Paperstone, Ecotop, Richlite) and we were nerved up to pay the price at one of the Sodo outfits because there didn't seem to be very many providers. Fortuitously I stumbled across Greenhome Solutions who were able to sell me the same material for a fair bit less. Yay! They arranged measurement and installation with an independent contractor. All went well. In the meantime, we discovered that the cabinets that we had ordered elsewhere were not usable. Greenhome Solutions was able to set us up with high quality, local cabinets (Canyon Creek) and held onto the counter material for us during the delay. We appreciate their flexibility.

Member was a great client to work with! We're very glad that she found us and we were able to help her out with her project. They went with one of our favorite surfaces, EcoTop, which is recycled paper composite countertop.

Very good; see above
Description of Work: We were looking for carpet or flooring that is environmentally friendly. The staff was very helpful and not pushy. They listened and offered suggestions. We were able to take samples home. We also looked around just for interest. They have a wide variety of environmentally sustainable products. The carpet came in about 2 weeks as promised. They also recommend an installer. They were also very professional. We would recommend this company. The price is higher than some other types of carpet, but appropriate for the type and quality.

Thank you for the review, it was great working with you. The customer went with one of our most popular carpets from Godfrey Hirst called Lisbon. This is a 100% Wool carpet with natural Jute backing and Wool Pad as well. We hope you're enjoying it!
It went well in some areas, and very poorly in others. Tyler came here and measured the area, which was a first-time installation of a kitchen. Fine, and I went to the shop on Nickerson to make my choices. I was really psyched about the formaldehyde-free glue used in the fabrication of the white melamine cabinets, and made nearby. I was very satisfied to have beat the Ikea syndrome with better quality, locally made, and competitive pricing. OK, it all arrived after more than a month, and I was unable to put the things together. I am a master of Ikea construction -- and instructions -- or so I thought. The instructions with these were possibly readable to a master cabinetmaker, but they were absolutely useless to me. Tyler saw my bafflement and came back with a friend (no doubt a master cabinetmaker), and they spent an afternoon assembling. Great. i am trying to be fair here because things really went south since this positive part of my experience. After that, there were problems with hardware, especially the ultra fancy hinges several months later when the doors arrived from a different supplier. I ordered one base cabinet to have a drawer above a shelf; it arrived with a large door that covered the whole front and no way to front a drawer. it has now been a year, and Tyler does not answer my calls or call back. I've talked with numerous people in the company, all of whom say it's being done, and it must not be true because there is never a tangible result. I bet you're wondering if I am a pain in the neck customer, and I believe I've been friendly, polite and patient. Now let's see some results!

We are very sorry that you were not satisfied with your purchase. We sell materials and help to facilitate installation if need be, whether it is a contractor/installer referral or scheduling with your chosen professional. In this case Tyler went out and helped put the boxes together for the customer in need of additional assistance. This was a situation where a contractor was needed separately and we should have been more clear as to what services we provide throughout the process.

I had a very positive experience. I wanted to update my kitchen in the 'greenest' way possible. I got excellent advice from Tess, who patiently worked through the process with me, helping me identify the best countertop made from recycled materials for my kitchen and my budget, and tile that is 60% recycled materials for the backsplash. They carry a lot of products for different budgets, help the homeowner compare products, and do not push towards the higher end. Tess guided me through the measurements and ordered the materials. She kept me informed of the process as I waited, and cheerfully fielded my many questions and concerns. Finally, all have arrived, and the work has begun. Greenhome Solutions sells the materials, and can make suggestions for contractors if asked. All in all, I am very satisfied. I learned a lot in the process.
Description of Work: Showed me options for flooring, countertops, and backsplash tile in their showroom. Assisted with measurements for counter and quantity for tiles. Placed the order for materials from the manufacturers.

Buyer Beware! I have a 1927 home for which I simply wanted to replace the countertop with an environmentally friendly product. I was assured by a salesman at a local homeshow that Greenhome Solutions would provide me with the product and workmanship I needed to complete the project. This was NOT the case. I ordered a Novustone countertop with a new faucet and ceramic sink. Later I found out I had to pick up the sink and deliver it to my home. I am 65 and it was heavy. I had help loading it at Greenhome Solutions, but then I had to help the Novustone installer to put it on his truck. Beginning of bad experiences. After extremely poor communication about when the installation would take place, it finally happened--more or less. While I waited in the living room, the Novustone installer demolished the existing countertop, leaving gaps and damage everywhere around the counter and the edging that I had intended to keep--it was a mess. I complained. I met with Novustone's owner and a representative from Greenhome Solutions. They gave me to understand that I was being unreasonable. Finally we agreed that they would find me a good carpenter to repair damage done to the existing counter--at my expense. (Carpenter turned out to be great--but from a different company altogether.) Furthermore, the original Novustone installer removed the existing heavy porcelain sink and left it at the side of the house without informing me. Again it was my responsibility to dispose of the sink--which I couldn't lift. Every time I contact Greenhome Solutions about problems with work or charges, the Greenhome Solutions representative gives me to understand that I'm being unreasonable. If you are a senior or someone living in an older home, I'd advise you to stay well clear of Greenhome Solutions and Novustone Products. They have no respect for either.
Description of Work: I asked for a new Novustone (composite) countertop to be installed in the kitchen of my 1927 home. I asked that the existing countertop, sink and faucet be removed and new ones installed.
