Gentle Giant Moving Co

As a professional organizer, I have worked with a number of different movers throughout my 24+ year career. I discovered Gentle Giant Moving a number of years ago from a client who had already booked them when I became involved with the move. I was so impressed with this company at that time, I have continued to recommended them since then. They are polite, friendly, prompt and thorough. During last weeks' move, this company contacted the condo building several times before moving day to confirm where they could park and unload. They did the same with the storage unit company. (that was the 2nd unload of the day for the same client) The gentleman who did the actual move were great. No one needed a "smoke" break, anything that hadn't been packed yet, they gladly stepped in and packed where needed. They worked extremely well as a team. 4 men and 2 trucks. Everything went smoothly. Due to the amount of items to be moved, the day was very long. Never did they seem upset or anxious to hurry the job so they could go home. (It was a Friday night) Whatever we needed they did it. I will continue to recommend them to my clients as well as any friends that are looking to move. They made what could have been a stressful day, a very pleasant day. Great job Will, Joe, Patrick and Jason.

Great, great work overall. On time, great communication, friendly, professional and careful. They charged $166/hr for 3 movers and 1 truck. My only complaint is that they charge a rental fee to use their giant hauling bins. They used 4 of them at $6/bin for a total of $24. In the grand scheme of the move $24 isn't a huge deal. The part that bothered me is that they didn't inform me at all. It was just a small line item on the final bill. They should be transparent about it and mention it beforehand.

Outstanding service during both moves. New house is at bottom of steep hill which they skillfully navigated. Nothing broken or scratched. They later returned to pick up empty boxes. All the guys were friendly, punctual and professional. Very fair value for money. I definitely recommend and would use again. Also we moved from 7000 sq foot house so many boxes and big pieces of furniture.

Garrett and Jeff were phenomenal! It's difficult to believe they were only two men. We have very VERY heavy and solid wood furniture, including at least two fragile and antique items. They were careful, yet fast and SO strong. They packed fragile items carefully and quickly. Emptying drawers was completely unnecessary. They shifted fully-filled solid mahogany dressers and a king sleigh bed from floor to floor as if they were carrying in the groceries. All the while, they were patient with changes in plan and helpful with room arrangements. All in all their services were a stellar experience. I give them the highest recommendation.

Gentle Giants were helpful. I was pleased with their Superior Customer Service and Knowledge! They were willing to squeeze me in for a move even on short notice. Although I did not utilize their services, they extended other services for me like, shipping packing materials to my home for my move. That speaks loud and clear about the type of Great service I would have received from this company. Way to go guys! I'm blogging this to everyone at Boeing.

You can not find a better mover. Gentle Giants are the best. I've used them to move my home twice and also for in-house moves. They go the extra yard every time. They are quick, careful, hardworking, helpful and supportive. I have a piano that is special to me and they treated it extremely carefully. They don't complain, even when adjusting the rug a few times. They don't over charge for special boxes. They know how to pack so that everything come through in excellent shape. Thank you Gentle Giants for making a difficult move seem easy.

I can't say enough good things about this company. My wife and I just used Gentle Giant based on a referral who had used them twice in the past. We just moved to Seattle last summer from California and had a nightmarish experience moving (not with Gentle Giant), so we wanted to be extra careful picking our in-city movers who would be transferring our belongings from our apartment to our new home. This company goes above and beyond. They are a punctual, polite, hardworking crew, and they are eager to go the extra mile. Within a few hours on the first day we were prepped and on the second day everything was packed on the truck and delivered flawlessly. They disassembled and reassembled our bed, and hauled several heavy pieces and boxes up three levels of stairs. At the end, they even offered to rearrange anything if we wanted. Also, we had to change our pack/move dates a couple of times and they were always able to change it around. Great company. Great crew. Thanks again!

Gentle Giant was professional from start to finish. They were able to schedule an appointment on fairly short notice and called a few days prior to confirm the details of the job. We moved into our house the weekend after Thanksgiving so we were very glad they were available to help. The movers called before they arrived, showed up on time, and went over the details of the job before starting to make sure I agreed with the pricing. The movers worked as quickly as possible to get the job done, even running back to the truck at times. I had to schedule a late afternoon appointment so we were pressed for daylight. We had just painted the walls of our house and the movers took extra care to make sure they didn't scuff them with our furniture. I was very impressed.

Our experience could not have been better. Our move was completed over a two day period and the crew was excellent in every regard. Derek managed the move on Saturday and Jeff was the crew leader on Sunday. They were all efficient, careful, STRONG, professional and courteous every step of the way. Not one item was damaged, the new wood floors are without scratches or scuffs and the walls are unmarked. This is our second experience with Gentle Giants and we would never consider hiring another company! They receive our highest recommendation.

Excellent, wonderfully respectful, I haven't had a better experience. They did things I had never had other movers do. They were so honest. They had initially quoted a higher price based on their approximate estimate, but upon moving my things, they voluntarily reduced the price because they saw I had less volume than initially quoted. Even though the initial estimate was a little higher than others, the final cost was less than the others I looked into. The experience was well worth it.

Completely and totally satisfied. The crew was fast, professional and strong. The move was so quick and painless i could hardly believe it. I cannot say enough things and would never use another moving company again! Very fair priced too!

They moved us from Kirkland to Bellevue. We had moved most of the small stuff so only left them the heavy sofa, piano, tables, beds etc. They movers came on time and wrapped things very nicely before moving. The movers are efficient and hard working. And the price is quite reasonable too. Even though it sounds a little more expensive than some cheapest moving companies, but they didn't ask us to rent the truck ourselves, they didn't charge extra for the piano. Two of them finished everything in 4 hours and they gave us a 10% discount for Angie's list members.

I used Gentle Giant in 2009 and was very pleased with their service; this experience was no exception. Everything was moved in to and out of the truck quickly and safely without any damage to anything (walls included). They did forget one item in the truck, however one of the people who moved me brought the item to my home the next day. Without hesitation, I would recommend using this moving company.

These were the best movers I have ever hired. I have moved several times and my team Sven,Troy and Dmitri were by far the most efficient and careful movers I have ever used. They are a bit more expensive then others but it is totally worth the money. They worked quickly, wrapped all my furniture very well,and were very careful with my items. They also didn't charge me more for moving my piano like other movers wanted to do. I will never use another moving company besides gentle giants and hopefully I will get this crew for my next move in a month to my new house.

There are two stories here and they are on opposite sides of the spectrum; the wonderful and the tragic, if you will. This is a long review so let me summarize: I feel torn about giving this a poor score because the guys who did the labor were bar-none the best I?ve ever seen ? but I must recommend you avoid this company as their business office is non-responsive and disingenuous in terms of promising one thing, agreeing to set terms, doing something different and then not following through. The good first: We were moving everything, approximately 18000 lbs of goods based on previous move weights from a corporate relocation. But since we were moving at our own expense this time, we came to Angies list and got the best rated movers and then got multiple bids. Gentle Giant was not the cheapest, but my wife loved the professionalism of the person she met and walked our house with, the care he had for working around our family's life with four kids, and our work schedules. The quote they gave came in with a large variance: between $5300 and $6800. Every other quote we received was a firm quote, and I couldn't accept so much variance.... but my wife really liked them so I called and spoke with the person who gave us the quote and told him I needed a Firm Fixed Price contract, and I split the difference to $6,000 as what I would pay. The gentleman said he had to talk to some others, including the driver / mover to ensure this was feasible / reasonable. A day or two later he called back and agreed to $6,000 as a fixed firm price, so we paid our deposit and authorized the move. The movers showed up on time, were professional, polite, and FAST! These guys worked their butts off and were great. The delivery also went GREAT. They met the schedule they promised and barring two accidents to our walls (one discovered at time of move, one discovered later), it went flawless. The Bad: at the completion of the move things started falling apart when I was asked to provide payment and balance of $6800. This was after multiple discounts were applied, including for one of the aforementioned wall damages. I told the driver/mover that I had a firm fixed price contract for $6000 but he told me I would have to take it up with the head office. Him having done a great job, I gave him the credit card and then, after he left, held the charges at my bank from completing until this was resolved. SO on to resolution: I called the moving company and asked to talk to the gentleman I came to the FFP contract with, about the charge issue. The lady who answered the phone said he was the wrong person and that I really should speak with another woman at the office, who also wasn?t available. I was told that both parties would be contacted via email by this person who answered the phone to decide who should contact me in return for resolution. A week later having heard nothing back, I called again and this time had to leave a message on the recorder. A week later I was contacted by the woman referenced in my first call and when I started asking about the price and why it changed ? she told me she only wanted to talk about empty box pickup and that someone else would have to call me about the bill. She asked when I was available for box pickup and I told her immediately and at any time (since we have a live in nanny). She said she?d need to contact me back and confirm the pickup date for boxes, and in the meantime she would get the right person to call me about the bill. That was late April ? it is not mid-May and I have yet to hear back from them on either subject. As of today's date, this is still unresolved and is causing considerable stress as to getting resolution on this item.

We had Gentle Giant Moving Company help us move on 4/13 in the Seattle area and were very pleased with their work! In an effort to save some money we moved all boxes and small stuff ourselves and had them move the big, heavy, awkward items for us. We had a team of 3 guys that were very friendly and professional. Because of previous experiences with movers we expected to have to stay on them to hustle since they were getting paid by the hour, but to our surprise they didn't need any prompting from us. They would literally jog back to the truck to get the next item. We were extremely happy that we hired Gentle Giants to help us move and would highly recommend them!

Very well. The company that I'd used to ship items to Tukwila didn't let me know my items weren't available for pickup until after the gentle giant movers had already left on Saturday am Gentle Giants were very understanding and didn't charge me for the extra time. On the day that my items DID finally arrive to Tukwila (the following Weds) they arrived promptly. They unloaded and loaded all my items quickly without a problem. Very nice people and a pleasure to work with. Cheerful and strong, they did it right.

they delivered boxes a few weeks in advance for us to pack come of our things in advance. On the day of the move, they showed up right on time and worked very hard and very carefully. ( A team of 4 guys) I have used movers ~6 times before and this group was as good as any I have ever worked with. They were very careful with our furniture and worked around many difficult stairs and angles. They barely took a break during 8- 9 hours and sere just as careful at the very end. Very impressed.

Exceptional service by the team at Gentle Giant moving company. Easily arranged moving appointment with Matt Coates on line and by phone. The moving van arrived on time with a team of four very experienced movers. After a quick walk through our home, the team began moving our goods - very carefully. We had a narrow stairwell to the basement with low clearance at the bottom of the stairs. It was a challenging move, but all the movers were professional, polite and actually seemed to enjoy their jobs. All furniture was carefully wrapped in blankets and taped. No furniture was scratched or dented. All fragile containers (glassware) arrived in perfect condition. We have moved many times, but this was the easiest move because we chose an Angie's List mover this time. Also, the estimate of moving costs was much lower than the actual cost due to the efficient and fast pace of the moving team.

Everything went great, from getting an immediate phone call back from an e-mail inquiry, to getting an estimate and the actual moving day. The time needed was right on with the estimate and the crew was on time, very professional and hard working. They completely packed up our home, moved us and helped arrange the furniture after they moved it in. I would definitely use Gentle Giant again.

This is a truly great company. We were thoroughly impressed with the Gentle Giant Moving Company every step of the way. The movers were efficient, courteous, professional and skilled in all aspects of the moving process and the crew leader, Derek, was excellent in every regard. The team thoroughly wrapped and padded furniture, mirrors and wall hangings with expertise. Everything was treated with care. The move coordinator, Heather, promptly returned calls, answered all of my questions. She was quite helpful in managing details and making sure things went smoothly. The original estimate was accurate in terms of time required and cost. We would highly recommend this company and will use their services again in the future.

These guys were amazing! They would run from the truck back into the house to get the next item. They were professional, hard working and respectful. They arrived on time, got right to work and finished ahead of schedule. My friend was extremely satisfied with their work and the price. I will definitely recommend them to others and hire them myself the next time I move.

I called for an estimate. The guy who answered the phone did not appear very eager for my business. He did not want to come out to give me an estimate and instead wanted to give me an estimate over the phone. I didn't want this because I have no way of knowing how many boxes I'll have or how much total weight there will be. My concern wasn't so much the furniture, but the things that need to be packed. I wanted to be sure I got an accurate estimate and didn't want an unpleasant shock later because I didn't know how many boxes I would have or what they weighed. I was shocked when he informed me that they would be charging me to come out and give me an estimate. I have spoken with many moving companies and not a single one has ever said that they would charge me for their time to drive out and give me an estimate. I don't understand how or why they have so many positive reviews on Angie's List if this is how they do business. Maybe they operate differently in different parts of the country. They will not be getting my business. I hope the owner of the company reads these reviews and realizes that their employee has caused them to lose business.
