needs reminder on annual checkup, ice maker hook up cost was excessive, but in the middle of remodel did not have time to contest.

Went very well indeed. The plumber, Brandon, knew his business, worked efficiently, kept me apprised of each activity. I had opened up some of the old wood-paneled basement wall looking for the leak, he had to sawz-all out more of it in order to run and support the new line, and he rerouted the waste line in another work room in order to cut down on the total number of twists and turns in the line. I probablyI cost myself $250/$350 extra by having him come twice (on first visit, he fixed the exigent issue, but I hadn't yet figured out what the *&^% I was going to do with the wall opened up and where I was going to restock furniture and stored materials), but that's how she goes sometimes. Not smart on my part, but maybe not as dumb as giving Boeing $8.5 billion in tax breaks, then watching them continue to cut jobs in-state! I WOULD use Gene Johnson again!

I had a bathroom put in the basement and before construction/drywall could begin had to have plumbing done. This included an injector pump as basement is below sewer line. Brandon and Sean spent several days here plus coming back to repair a glitch in the floor of bathroom. Prompt, responsible, professional and were patient with all my questions (which were many!)Gene Johnson Plumbing follows up with e-mails after work is completed to make sure all is well.

Working with the folks at Gene Johnson Plumbing is great. First of all, when they're headed your way someone from the office calls to let you know and double check that the time window still works for you. Typical contractors show-up when the show-up and it's just up to know to be around and waiting for them. We had an older hot water recirculating system that had been installed by the previous owner of our house. It definitely had some issues but worked until we relocated our hot-water system. What was needed was reconfiguring the plumbing of the recirculating system. The first plumber came-out and took a look at the current configuration. After some discussion he asked if I'd mind waiting a few days until another on of his co-workers could come out and take a look at out confusing and goofy system. Since having the system off-line didn't really impact us much it was no problem. I hav huge respect for anyone who says that they'd like a second opinion on something. He could hav just connected this pipe to that and called it a day, it probably would hav worked, right? Instead he called-in someone else to take a second look and make sure the flows and pressures and other plumbing magic where all correct. The next plumber, in fact a pair of them, came-out and did the analysis and re-configured the system. I know a tiny bit about plumbing and engineering; enough to know that there is a half-assed way to do things and a right way to do things. These guys were all about doing things the right way. No corners cut, no 'just good enough'. Our recirculating system works better than it ever has since we've liver there and because of the changes, I'm sure better than it ever has. They provided tons of feedback on our new solar hot water system. I was left with a laundry list of items for the installer of that system to remedy. When they were done it turned-out that the new check-valve they installed had a chattering sound that you could hear upstairs in the living space. Some plumbers would hav shrugged their shoulders and hit the road. These guys said they would order a new valve with a rubber seat that wouldn't make any chattering sound. And then, they did! A week or so later they called to make the appointment to come out and install the new valve. That went smoothly too! Great service, great communication, super-knowledgable, great follow-up! Would definitely hire them again.

We have used them for at least 3 or 4 years. I haven't had any problems with them.

My story starts with Roto Rooter. Upon discovery that my sewer clean out was backing up, I called Roto Rooter. He was here less than an hour, could only get 20 feet, handed me a stack of estimates if I want further work done and charged me $569.00 (don?t call them). I began the process of getting bids for a spot repair. Gene Johnson pluming bought my request from A+ Sewer Technologies and scheduled a time. Once here (remember, I was only looking for estimates), the tech Phil SWORE he could clear the line, was ADAMENT that he could clear the line, 97% sure he could clear the line. He got as far as Roto Rooter and succeeded in breaking off the bit at the end of the snake?so now that?s in the line to, charging me $300.00. He felt bad, so he came out the next day to mark the line and discovered another potential problem at the clean out five feet from the sidewalk. He thought maybe I was on septic and called the city?.really. He sent me an open ended bid for 5 foot spot repair $2300.00 escalating if any further issues were found. I then got two more bids from NW Sewer and Drain Pro Pluming.

Everything went well. He was friendly and professional, did a good job, and offered helpful advice on another issue.

We've been using them for years, and they've always done an excellent job. They have competitive pricing, they do good work, and they always show on time. Furthermore, they do a nice job of communicating clearly.

Phil from GJP arrived on time and was very personable, polite and best of all good! He figured out our problem right away, and not only fixed it, but then told us what it was and how to read the error codes on the machine so we could fix it ourselves in the future--not a big deal, but not all places would do that! Turns out we had leaves blocking our air intake valve--over 4 years stuff like that happens, and it would cause our water heater to just turn off, we could manually restart it, but then of course it would turn off again. Now we know what caused the problem and can just keep that area cleaner in the future. We would definitely use GJP again, and ask for Phil!

Phil is fabulous with Navien's ... and that's hard to find in this city. Phil was able to quickly pinpoint the problem and get it fixed. He then went above and beyond to make up for a mistake on Navien's part. (Navien failed to overnight a part and left me out of hot water for 6 days until that was sorted out.) Phil/Kristen went the extra mile to make up for a mistake that wasn't theirs. Phil came late at night determined to fit me in on the same day that the part arrived. Phil is honest, hardworking, and trustworthy - great with people and Navien's. I'm hooked. Highly recommend!

It went great. Woody is very professional, and extremely friendly. He got the work done with very short notice.

They did an excellent job! They were very professional and I thought they did a great job with everything. I felt like I was really getting someone who knew what they were doing.

Thus far we just have the estimate and plan to hire them for the stated repairs as soon as we have them money saved to do so. They also offer a monthly membership program which will include annual servicing of the hot water heater. We look forward to having them do the work. The rep who came out was professional, courteous, and very knowledgeable.

A cast iron drain pipe under the basement slab (finished living space) in my 58 year old home running from the kitchen sink on the west side of my house to the sewer stack on the east side was plugged up about 2 years ago and I was told by one of the "Rooter" company's that the line could not be cleared and the replacement would cost something north of $13,000.00. Upon hearing this, I called Gene Johnson Plumbing for a second look and they came out quickly and cleared the line in about 20 minutes. They told me at the time that I needed to put the funds together for an eventual replacement as the lined was aged and could fail completely at some point. It was nice to be given the time to prepare for that type of expense. 2 years later the line did fail completely and could no longer be cleared. Based on my past experience with the believable people from Gene Johnson, I gave them a call. They came out the next day, sized up my situation, explained what needed to be done and quoted the work at roughly $5,000.00 lower than the previous bid from the rooter company. This was obviously a big deal for me as a homeowner both in terms of the trenching inside my home and of course, the cost. I have to say though that Woody took the time to show me what I needed to see to believe the quote for service was sound and once I accepted it, he and Manu went to work and knocked it out in the timeframe they told me. They both worked hard, worked smart and treated me with a level of customer service I don't often experience. I am therefore very happy to recommend Gene Johnson Plumbing and Heating.

Fast, prompt, had all necessary parts. I was leaving town the next day, so this was a great turn around. Called at 11 am. They were there at 2 pm.

The job was completed in about 30 minutes (or less), they knew exactly what they needed to do and got it done.

Richard was very professional and was able to diagnose a couple of issues with our water heater. He was at our home for quite a while and did a thorough job. He was able to repair the valve as well as program a pump that we did not know was not programmed. Researching the internet we found we probably could have had the job done for less, however we had hot water pouring out of the side of our house and Richard was there and available. Rescheduling with someone else would have meant we would have been without hot water for an unspecified length of time during an extreme cold spell.

I first used Gene Johnson plumbing in the 1980's for my food business. I had an issue at home and decided to call them in. I was pleased to learn that they are still family run with only 4-5 plumbers who do the work. I think this is a big difference. Carlos came promptly, took care of the job quickly and troubleshooted an issue that we were having trouble with for months. I would recommend this company over some of the larger plumbing company's out there.

Woody normally comes out to service the home and does a great job. I would highly recommend them.

I called GJ to see if they would like to come and give me an estimate on some remodeling work. They happened to be available within the hour. They did warn me over the phone that I would be charged for the house call but if I used them this would be credited back on the final bill. Their estimator showed up promptly and we began to discuss that I was installing a kitchen island and needed him to plumb the sink. It was a wet rainy day and my crawl space access is not the dryest. The estimator decided to skip going under the house to look at where the connections would be made and get straight to the estimated cost. I'm guessing that he thought it might take a couple of days because the estimate was almost $3k and the floor of theisland is less than 10' from the stand pipe. Then he added an extra $1200 to replace (upsize) the vent pipe that goes through the single story building's roof. I asked if this was an estimae for time and materials or if this is the "job" cost. He stated that this was the cost wether it took more or less time. He made sure he received his $49+tax call out fee and was gone in less than 1/2 hour. I have done plenty of plumbing work, just didn't think I had time to do this project. This quote makes me want to do it myself or use a different contractor. I was amazed that the estimator didn't want to get as much information as possible to give me a competitive quote and thought that this showed an unbelievably high level of unprofessionalism, I will not be using GJ.
