Description of Work: Carlos came to install my combined washer dryer unit in my condo. He was wonderful, but was working from a computer screen estimate and cautioned me that it would be expensive. He rehung my bathroom door when he was done and was very quick and pleasant. I was glad to have my appliances back

Description of Work: They never got back to me with a quote. Guess they didn't want the business. Too bad, it was a huge job of replacing an entire sewer line.

Description of Work: Woody from Gene Johnson is the best - punctual, professional, and friendly. He has repaired my ancient gas furnace once and he also performs annual maintenance on it. The price is not the cheapest, but the work is excellent and high quality.

Description of Work: They replaced a toilet in master bath and the line. They came, looked at what we had and went to Home Depot to buy it..the mark up was, we thought, exorbitant. The work and plumber were professional. We would use them again, but only after getting other bids. | |

Description of Work: Came on time and understood what was needed - a separate pipe running from our main water pipe, to carry an irrigation system - and, because he had enough time, it was done on the spot, with no need to return. All very helpful.

Description of Work: It was years ago that I used them and I don't remember any details but it would have been to repair a leak. I can say that they didn't impress me enough to use them again as I have subsequently used other plumbers but I would also remember if it was a bad experience. It wouldn't be fair for me to give them favorable or unfavorable ratings or recommendation.

Description of Work: I was running out of hot water and surmised that it had something to do with the water heater. I called Gene Johnson and asked for Woody (as I always do) and he came out and diagnosed the problem as an element in the water heater gone bad. Because it is a good water heater, and the water heater was installed just under 5 years ago, Woody said that we could replace just the element, and for just over $100 we could replace both elements--so we did that. He had to go get the elements, as he knew that while he might have 1 element on his truck, he was sure that he did not have 2; he drained the hot water tank while he was gone. He was quick and had the job done and cleaned up in less than 2 hours (including going to get the elements). I asked his advice about something else and he gave it and I trust his opinion completely. I had a coupon to use, and I also received a special discount as I pay monthly to Gene Johnson Plumbing (which includes not only the discounts on any work needed, but also a yearly inspection). The office person was also very helpful.

Description of Work: We have used Gene Johnson since moving to our home in 1986. With one exception, they have done all of our plumbing including a major heating installation and re-plumbing our 1929 home.

Description of Work: They worked on our furnace many years ago - at least 10 yrs. Their work was ok but they are pretty expensive and engaged in some high pressure sales techniques to get us to sign contracts for ongoing servicing.

Description of Work: They came to my house and told me that I had to tear up my front yard to unclog my drain for thousands of dollars. I declined and found someone to ream it out with a snake for a hundred and fifty dollars. Gene Johnson was going to cheat me out of thousands of dollars.

Description of Work: I had Gene Johnson as my plumber for two rental houses for several years. Over several years,they did sewer clean outs and a renewal of a potable water supply. My plumber was Woody. The service was prompt, professional with helpful advice. The houses were sold, but I would use Gene Johnson again if I had a plumbing issue.

Description of Work: I haven't had to call on Gene Johnson for a year or so, thank fortune. The last time they were here (can't remember exact date) they replaced the ignitor on my gas furnace. I think it was around $150 but can't remember that for sure either without looking back in my records. It is worth mentioning that we signed an agreement with them several years ago that requires a low monthly payment from us and gives us an annual furnace inspection and a discount on other services. I have been very satisfied with their service and, in fact, need to schedule that annual inspection right away.
