+ -1 moreThe contractor would not return phone calls, emails or notes on the Angie's List site. Angie's List - the site the processed my payment claims that they had nothing to do with the transaction. My advice to any prospective customers is to never purchase any deals offered on Angie's List. Most likely, the contractor was so busy that they couldn't keep up with customers, but I'll never know since they won't return my calls.
Description of Work: I needed vines removed and a hedge trimmed.

+ 0 moreWe've been using Shannon, Nate and the Fruits to Fronds crew to fix up the landscaping on our Capitol Hill home over the last few months and they've been SPECTACULAR to work with! Always on time, reasonably priced, gave me a good recommendation for a replacement vine for the kiwi which was out of control. They've also done a great job pruning and mulching all the flower beds, as well as killing the ivy that had overgrown one of the trees out back. Highly recommended!!!

+ -1 moreThey were okay. I didn't like anything in particular, they didn't do as much as I thought they would do, but it was okay. The interactions were positive. They didn't follow up with me for the future plans and ideas for parts of my yard. They charged a $100 dump fee, and I was not too happy about that. It wasn't included, but $100 seems a lot for dump fees.

Description of Work: No services were provided as the provider came up with a fake and convenient way to decline service. Their deal specified greater seattle region and that region is typically considered King county or some will go with a smaller portion of the county be associating this with all cities that tough Lake Washington. The provider asked for my address and once provided, service was declined, she advised, "We don't service Renton". Renton is adjacent to Seattle and I am 10 miles from Seattle city limits, well within the county and region. What I find most interesting is the provider asked for my address, not my city. I do live at the furthest edge of Renton, but again the cities are adjacent and the city is not large, so I am 8-10 miles from Seattle city limits. Please see the follow for official detail on the region, but closer looks reveal that again Renton is 10miles south of Seattle and the provider herself is based out of south Seattle. This is clearly a class issue as anything south of Seattle is considered below the median of the region, but I work in the south end, so living here is convenient. My history with Angie's list is well documents and horrible and I assume you again are going to allow this provider to escape responsibility, but you can not show me anywhere on the deal, their profile page or personal website where they advise I am out of area. + 2 moreThe two person team was professional from arrival to to job conclusion. He walked the property with me to learn what I needed to have done today and to prioritize my (to do) list. Midway into the job he checked in as to progress they were making and my priorities for the balance of time. I was thrilled that they got rid of that nasty quince! He carried a few buckets of my broken granite up to my backyard that I intend to use as a border for some beds. That was a great relief to me! The service was well worth the price! They were professionals who knew plants and their habits. In my terraced back yard, the evidence was the equivalent of 25 yard waste bags and bundles. 10 bags of bark were spread. My sidewalks, porches and driveway were blown clean. I would certainly hire this team again without reservation.
Description of Work: Pruned deciduous trees, raked leaves from beds and spread bark in those same beds. Made waste ready for yard waste pickup by filling bags, cutting branches and bundling the same with twine. Completely removed a 55-year-old thorny quince bush from the rockery.

+ 2 moreNate and his crew arrived at the agreed upon time. We looked at the front parking strip together and Nate provided advice on how to landscape this weedy area of my yard. I originally thought using primarily paving stones would be the best thing to do, but Nate recommended adding grass/sod combined with mulch around the trees (with a border). I agreed this was probably a better idea and his crew went ahead and weeded around the trees. Nate also said he would send me a bid for doing the landscaping work in this area. Overall Nate and his crew did a great job and were very professional.
Description of Work: Fruits to Fronds weeded around three large horse chestnut trees in my front parking strip. They also provided landscaping advice and ideas for this problematic part of my yard. In addition, they weeded another small portion of my front yard to complete the agreed upon 4 hours of work.

+ 0 moreNate (Main contact) and Robby (main contact on the ground) and one other gentleman I didn't meet in person were great. Their communication was great-they paid attention when I said in my initial email that texting was the best way to contact me; they were prompt, polite and professional. Robby did everything I asked exactly like I asked, and it was A LOT. I truly appreciate all the guys hard work. The only thing (and I completely had forgotten about this, so it is ALL on me) is the take-away of the debris-which they graciously did in their truck for $75. It would have taken them longer to and cost more to bag it and add that to our yard waste bin than just using their truck to do it, so I went with the truck option. So just remember that (I am sure it is in the big deal wording somewhere and I just either didn't see it or it isn't and I didn't think about it...so just don't forget that that will be an issue if you have a large amount of debris to be removed from your site). And frankly, $75 seemed more than reasonable for the amount of debris the guys took away, especially bc I didn't have to deal with any of it after that! I would highly recommend this company-it was a pleasure doing business with them and I would like to have them do maintenance on our yard, if possible. It is something I will be looking into!
Description of Work: General yard clean-up including edging (BY HAND-they did not have a working edger bc it had been stolen recently, so they used their shovels-and it was beautifully done!); detangling/taming ivy that was infested with blackberry brambles-they removed those and cleaned the ivy up and backed it off the sidewalk; mowed, shoveled and raked berries, leaves and other debris off very long parking strips and yard on a corner property and cleared ivy and debris 18" from base of house to keep down insects for summer. SOOOO impressive guys! Thanks!

+ -1 moreThey did a very nice job given the time they had. They were extremely pleasant people. God helped me - they were both English speakers. They came out on a Saturday, which worked really well because my schedule is really bizarre at the moment. They don't normally work Saturdays. But the over response to Angie's List had them working weekends. I was really glad that they did that. They were real fast. Other than the fact that they were overwhelmed, they kept in touch with me regularly. They showed up on time. I haven't gotten the bill, but two people stayed extra time. They're going to bill me another three and a half hours. But, I asked them to stay longer than the deal time. So I'm not upset by that at all. They actually do a yard service as opposed to lawn service. I was delighted to find them because I have no lawn, but I have lots of weeds. I'm going to get in touch with them about using them regularly. My only complaint about them is that they charge for travel time. I suppose that's not unusual. But, they said they'll charge basic hour and I don't really think that Seattle is an hour away from where I live. I'll still probably use them. Two hours for two people adds up to a fair amount. But they're comparable to the other guy I had, who was working on my yard and just disappeared on me.
