Fox Plumbing & Heating

Work was well done by a competent technician, Tim, who checked with us first to give us the options to adequately deal with the problem. This pipeline had been addressed twice before by another plumber who not only did not diagnose the whole problem, but who inadequately tried to patch with a leaky sleeve. The job presented some unusual challenges do to the construction of the house, and Tim was creative in finding a way to work around those challenges.

Fox Plumbing, at my request, also looked at our water heater, which wasn't heating properly and they determined that the heating elements weren't even, which they evened up and it improved a bit. We still would need to have it fixed. Also at our request, they analyzed the water pressure in our house. They were just ten minutes late but they called one hour before to let us know and because we were their first appointment of the day.

The problem was leaking toilet drain pipe on the home's main level. Black water was leaking into the basement below. A secondary problem was a leaking toilet supply line in the basement. Plumber didn't show up the day of the appointment. Called and rescheduled to the next day at 8:30 to 9 am. Showed up 2-3 hours late next day. Plumber fixed toilet in a few minutes. Repair OK. Quoted further repairs needed at $1535.00 plus tax. The next day the pipe was leaking. They sent the same plumber out. He said that there was no way to fix the leak even temporarily. When I asked why he charged me for time spent applying RTV to the pipe and why he said that would fix it temporarily, he had no answer. Labor charge was $367 (2 hours). I purchased a bathroom sink faucet from the plumber ($148.64). I returned it to the plumber next day, but at last check I have not been credited. I spoke to the manager, who promised to call me over a week ago to discuss all the problems. I am still waiting.

They showed up on time and did a good job at solving my problems. They were very neat and clean with their work. I appreciate good work, but I thought their price was much higher than we expected.

We had used Fox Plumbing before in 2000. Initially, we called them to fix a clogged toilet. He advised us that since the toilet was very old, he could not guarantee the issue wouldn't repeat. Also, the price difference between a new toilet installed and the unclog job was small and besides, the new toilets are energy efficient, since they waste less water than older toilets.

Fox Plumbing did a very neat job there was no dripping or anything. I really appreciate that they were very careful in my home. They even had on little booties to keep my house clean. They were great!

They came to my house and they showed on time. They did the job in a very fast time. I really don't remember the price that the charge me, but I am sure that they charge me a very fair price.

I was very happy with what they did. They really know what they are doing and they took their time doing it so it would be done the right way. They even called to make sure everything was OK after the project was done. They are the best plumbing company by far.

I felt very comfortable having these people in my house. They did a really good job. In regards to scheduling the appointment, it was easy to get one. They also were very flexible for me. It took them 2 hours to finish the work.

Poorly! The manager finally called after I called the owner. Did send a second qualified plumber out to fix problems but this was after 2 long days. Both plumbers were late arriving to work and their office did not call to say there would be a late arrival. I was not expecting to have to install a psi valve, with new piping, and water heater. I was told I was in violation because of a 100 psi reading on water pressure and needed to have a valve installed. No prior estimate given for the installation of piping and psi valve prior to work. Both plumbers did not have needed supplies.

It took 3 long days not the estimated 2 days. The weather was very hot, but they worked long and hard. All in all a good was with high quality.

The plumber was not qualified at all. Upon entering the kitchen, he sat down on the floor to contemplate his course of action. After several minutes, I questioned his reasoning for this as I was paying by the hour. I was very dissatisfied with the overall experience and do not intend to use them again.

The work went fine. The price was a little high.

They are courteous, friendly, responsible, punctual and the quality of their work is great. They work quickly but still do good work. The price seemed really high but I would say that they are the best company if you don t mind spending a little extra.

The plumber was courteous and knowledgable. They were a little behind schedule, but they kept me informed on ETA.

They did an excellent job. It took 3 days to perform the work. Mike told me the most helpful thing I could do was "not to worry about a thing". And I didn't. They were tidy, considerate and prompt. I had called them on a Monday afternoon and said I was ready to go forward with the job and they were at my house the next day at 8 AM. I think this fast scheduling was a bit unusual but I was impressed with how I could always reach Doug or Mike by phone with my questions. Much of this project took place while I was at work and my absence was not a problem. Mike was recommended by our next door neighbor who has the same project done last year. I highly recommend him to anyone who needs this annoying sewer line replacement done.

The representative from Fox came out, diagnosed the problem and replaced several gaskets.

I was most impressed by the fact that the plumber, Joe, discussed with me the various options for determining exactly where the leak was originating. He took into account my financial situation, the consequences in terms of repairs (he had to cut into the drywall to locate and fix the leak), etc. I also appreciated that they called after each visit to be sure I was happy with the work, kept me updated on the status of the parts they had to order, and so on.

We had a classic plumbing emergency, and Fox responded immediately. The professional they sent to our home was first rate. He worked on what was obviously a significant block in a major drain pipe of our home, just before the junction with the main sewer line. The guy worked on it for more than four hours, yet only charged us for roughly one hour. He saved our hides, plain and simple.

Doug did the estimate arriving not only on time, but a bit early! He checked out the problem and gave me two options. One, the sort of "ultimate solution" involved jack-hammering our newly finished basement floor. When I balked at that, he suggested the "Y" pipe fitting to provide access for the jetter, which, he explained, would do a much more thorough job of cleaning the pipes than a snake would. He explained that the jetting might need to be repeated once a year or so, but the permanent "Y" pipe fitting would make that easier and less expensive to do in the future. I couldn't see ruining our new floor and gladly took this second suggestion. Phil came and did the work. He arrived right on time, was a really friendly guy and did the work quickly, testing it thoroughly and then cleaning everything up nice and neat. I've tested it various ways, doing laundry/dishwasher simultaneously, multiple successive loads of laundry, and we've had no more water back-ups!! Yea!

The faucet no longer leaks! Yippee! Turns out the main water handles (not sure what the right term is for them) are very old and probably need to be replaced. Marcus tightened them enough to resolve the leak but let us know we'd probably need to replace them in a year or so. That's a bummer but if he would have replaced them today it would have required much more time and expense than we wanted. And who knows; the handles may hold for many more years.
