Fox plumbing was great to work with, even though we did not choose to go with them in the end, they were our first runner up. They came out promptly as scheduled to give a quote, were professional and friendly, gave a very reasonable quote and overall I felt very comfortable with this company. The only reason we did not choose them was that another company came in much lower on a bid due to the fact they did not mark up the cost of the water heater significantly. When my husband called Fox to try to do a little wheeling and dealing with the other quote as reference, Fox said, actually, wow, you know, that sounds really great. I know I can't match that, but the company sounds like it's been in business a long time and I've never heard anything bad about them, so if you go with them I can understand. Bullet pointed: * Friendly on phone, quick to respond and to come out for quote * Person they sent out to quote was punctual and knowledgeable (not just a salesman) * Gave a quote promptly * Quote was darn reasonable! * Was very professional and courteous in regards to their competitor, never a harsh word. Very graceful and kind even when losing the bid. I also want to note that this company had ample 'emergency' slots open to perform the work almost immediately if needed.
Description of Work: I called Fox plumbing out to quote on an installation of a new tankless water heater.

After calling several plumbing companies Fox was the only company that would come to the house, access the repairs needed and give a written bid without charging. The other companies charged $250 to $400 for any written bids and to come to the house. The bid given was the price that we paid. There were no hidden charges and the communication was excellent. Rick was very helpful in answering all our questions no matter who in our family called him. Jesse performed the repairs and did a great job. He was also very helpful in explaining all the procedures he completed and why. Both communicated a sense of caring and knowledge. Thanks to Rick and Jesse I would use Fox Plumbing again and would recommend them to family and friends.

Went very smoothly. Getting an appointment was easy. They were delayed an hour or so, but wasn't a big deal. Marcus did a great job replacing the toilet. He was out of the soft close seats but drove to the nearest store to get one and installed it. The Toto Gmax toilet itself works so much better than the old one. Would definitely use Fox again for plumbing jobs.

Excellent experience, John P. was courteous, pleasant, professional, and extraordinarily neat (removed all debris, washed floor to remove incidental spillage, perfectly true caulk lines). Final bill was a bit of shock (some required parts had not been speciifed in advance; the labor charge was hard to check against the company's stated rates).

Fox Plumbing charged me $216.00 to do nothing but try to sell me a $600.00 faucet I didn't need. I almost fell for it --The flow from my faucet was irregular, and Fox Plumbing told me the faucet had to be replaced--didn't try to fix it because he "didn't have the tool"--funny; his fully loaded truck didn't have a pair of long-nosed pliers? But he had a $600.00 faucet to sell me in there!! I was desperate to get water flowing in my kitchen again, but I couldn't use the one in the truck (it was so expensive and was for a single hole countertop and I have four), so I ordered a faucet-- one I had selected from a catalog. Initial price: $549.00--but Fox got me a "deal" and got $15.00 knocked off. My intuition told me to cancel the order for the faucet and I did the next day. Fox also had also given me an estimate for a new water service at $2,100. (I have galvanized plumbing under my house and from the house to the street--the estimate was for replacing the piping from my house to the street.) I had another plumber come to my house that next afternoon. He fixed my faucet within two minutes, and by the way, he had the tool. He gave me an estimate to get the galvanized plumbing replaced in my home and guess who's going to get the job? Not Fox Plumbing. (By the way, the estimate for the new water service from this company was $1,100). Fox plumbing has good salesmen, are a bunch of hype and advertising, and a disappoint as a plumbing service.

Response from Fox Plumbing & Heating
We are truly humbled and do sincerely apologize for the miscommunication we encountered with this customer. After our technician gave her the options between repair and replacement, she asked our technician what kinds of faucets are available these days. He proceeded to get some product knowledge catalogs and show them to our customer. As we do on every job, we were trying to help her make and educated buying decision by illustrating the pro’s and con’s between repairing and replacing. After selecting one that she liked she asked, “How much is this one right here”. The technician got cost and availability of the faucet and she asked us to order it, and schedule the installation when the faucet came in. The next day she called in and cancelled the work. Unfortunately, she did not contact us and let us know that she had some questions. We did not hear from her until we saw this review. Immediately after finding out that she was not 100% satisfied with our services, we contacted her to try and figure out exactly what happened. After speaking with the customer, and because we strive for 100% customer satisfaction, we gave her a full refund. Fox Plumbing takes these reviews very seriously and we will use this review as training for all of our technicians. If anyone who ever reads this and uses our services is not completely satisfied, Please call our service dept. and they will make you completely satisfied. We guarantee it! As our mission statement say’s “It is our sincere desire to give our customers premium service every time. Treat our customers like our friends and family, and plan on having a lifelong relationship with them”.

We have used this company before for a kitchen remodel and loved their work. They were prompt, courteous and professional. We had to do the work in 2 stages (demo and finish work) they were totally accommodating of our schedule. We did have one blip in the process and this had to do with communication or lack of communication on their part. But, I would not let this stop you from using this company. Their prices are fair and the employees professional and courteous. We would use them again.

Very responsive to initial call. At house within four hours of call. Correctly diagnosed the issue and got the eco vac company lined up to deal with clean up asap. Worked extremely well with home owner and property tennant. Repaired eroded sewer pipe. Had challenges in getting the repair bill broken down in detail for my insurance company and required several phone calls to the accounting and customer service department. It was eventually dealt with and I would work with this company again.

They said they could come that same afternoon between 3-5 pm, which surprised me. They called and said that he was running late and would not be here until 6 pm. He put in a whole new faucet, which I?m not saying, didn?t need to happen. He then did a roto-rooter thing down the drainage and said they really couldn't do anything and they didn't know what the problem was. He was here about 1 1/2 hours and then I got a bill for $420 and I was really quite surprised. It was my own fault because I didn't read carefully enough; they state that they have a $99 fee for coming out and $45 or $50 for each quarter of an hour. I didn't see the quarter of an hour and I asked if I was charged for after hours work. They pointed it out and it wasn't their fault, but I want people to understand it is a charge for each quarter of an hour. I think I can get work done cheaper and it was quite an expensive job.

I expected the price to be high but chose them because they have a sewer video camera. My personal opinion is that it should have taken about 60-90 minutes for work done that day. Clearing the tub drain was about 5-10 minutes. Changing the spouts again about 5-10 minutes. Installing the lav took about 30 minutes. I didn't watch him do the washer. Assuming 5 minutes there too. I think 60-90 minutes is generous. The problem came with the video camera on the sewer line. When the first guy got here I verified that they do free estimates on major work. They do. So I showed him our sewer issue. He spent a few minutes checking it out then called for the estimator. When the estimator got here, the first guy showed him the problems then the first guy carried in the equipment for the estimator. (My guess is the estimator has back trouble & doesn't lift unless he has to.) Once set-up, the estimator had the other guy feed the snake down the sewer line while the estimator was outside using a gps locator to track the root intrusions & cracks in the sewer line. When done the first guy took the time to roll the snake back up. I can't remember if he carried the gear back to the estimators truck. Then the estimator went to the truck to work on it a while and the first guy went back to his tasks. I watched everything. I wanted to see what they saw. My general review is that we were billed for 3+hrs of the first guys time for around $700. He said he took off 30 minutes for assisting the estimator. That's issue one... Our big issue was that the previous home owners had cut off the sewer line exiting the house in the basement. They hooked-up a 4" sewer line near where the sewer exited the house, ran it about 20', through 2 walls and dropped it through an (apx) 18" wide hole cut in the floor and laid it, not sealed, into the sewer line going to the street. The initial estimate for redoing our sewer was $6600. That would get it to code. We were shocked. Then he said that they could leave it like it was and seal it so methane can't leak back for around $3700, including patching the giant hole in the floor. I told him we'd be getting competing bids. Then he said for about $1800 they would leave it all as it is and only seal the pipes so methane can't get in the house. I declined. A couple days after Fox was here, they called for a follow-up. A manager called the next day. They refunded $100 trying to make me happy. 2-3 weeks later we got a note from them addressed to the previous owners thanking them for their business. How did Fox know their names? We had a general contractor fix it the right way for less than $2,000. (Compared to Fox's $6600.)
Description of Work: Work done: Installed new bathroom sink & faucet, cleared tub clog, replaced tub spout, retaped shower head pipe, hooked-up clothes washer. Sewer line repair (free) estimate Initially around $700. We received $100 refund later.

Valued Angie’s List customers: We are truly sorry for any misunderstands we may have had with this customer. After the job was finished, as our standard course of business, we called the customer to ensure she was 100% satisfied with our services. She stated that she had questions on the billing and our Customer Service Manager immediately called her back. An arrangement was made to ensure both parties were happy, with the customer stating, “Now I see why you guys have an A rating on Angie’s List”. Regarding the Estimate, our Estimator spent about two hours diagnosing the customer’s problems because she had just bought the home and did not have a home inspection, and she was not charged for any of his time. We gave the customer three different options, which she had asked for, using the estimate sheets we use on every job. She stated, “It looks good, but we just spent all of our money on the house.” We apologized for the situation she was in and gave her recommendations on things she could do to make things less expensive. It is impossible to know who she hired and what kind of job was done. We at Fox Plumbing just hope she got a fair price for a job that required skill and understanding of the plumbing codes. It was very surprising to us that she would give us such high compliments and praise over the phone and then give such a back-handed review such as this. She told us she was “completely happy” and thanked us for such great service and follow up. It is sad that some people just can’t be more honest and up front. We want to give 100% satisfaction on each and every job, and we can only do so if this customer would communicate directly with us. We sincerely hope that our over –all “A” ratings will speak for themselves.

Mike Blake showed up on time and listened to everything that I was concerned about and went to work immediately to resolve all problems. Mike communicated with me throughout the visit and made sure I understood what he was doing. Mike is very professional and skilled. Mike was efficient with his time and I felt that the one and one-half hour of labor was very fair. Mike cleaned up after he was done, and made sure all of the household faucets were working and free of air pockets. We are going to be buying an new dishwasher and will have Mike come back to install it.
Description of Work: Our water heater was installed in 2006 by Fox Plumbing & Heating, and we were in need of servicing. The dip tube was suspected to be failing, but it was in good condition, Mike Blake flushed the tank, reset the air charge in the thermo tank and instructed me about its operation, repaired a gas leakm rebuilt the tub and shower valves.

We had a water line leak. Fox was quick to schedule an estimate-visit and was able to make their offer very competitive with a little nudging. The two-person crew they sent I cannot say enough good things about. Punctual, professional, excellent. While certainly not they way I'd dreamed of dropping a couple grand, I'll spend any future plumbing dollars with Fox based on this experience.
Description of Work: Fox performed a trenchless water line re-run. Dug 2 narrow holes, one at the street, one 45 degrees off at the front-corner of the house, each approx 4 feet deep. A third larger hole, again 4 feet deep, was dug where the water-line enters the foundation. Ran PEX-style flexible tubing, drilled and patched foundation, backfilled holes and replaced displaced plants.

They did good work. But they tried to give me the hard sell, to replace the toilet with a $300.00 model that they carried in the van. They wanted to sell me the all inclusive new toilet installation with the new toilet for about $700.00 + tax. I am not pleased that the only model that they carry with them is a model that is much more expensive than just about everything you can find at a hardware store, where the average price runs about $150.00. My toilet did not NEED to be replaced, it was just recommended because it was old. I would have replaced it if they carried a less expensive model.

I used a different company for this job. I thought they guy that came out was great; he spent about two hours going over things and gave a very in-depth analysis. Everyone from the camera-scope man to the field techs doing the back-breaking labour were efficient, easy to deal with and answered all my questions. I called Fox and the lady who answers the phone was able to fit me into the schedule within 1 and 1/2 hours of my call. Their plumber, Marcus, was right on time and arrived ready to work. Marcus worked quickly, efficiently and professionally. Marcus first augered the drain and then removed the toilet to insure nothing was stuck in the p-trap and remounted the toilet. It took about 45 minutes from beginning to end. He was very aware of not spreading dirt or grime through out the rest of the bathroom or house. While doing all this, he also managed to be friendly, cordial, polite and funny. The toilet flushes better than it ever did before. Fox should do whatever it takes to keep him in their employ.
