FIX HOME SERVICES

I have used Fixed Home Services multiple times in the past when I lived in a million dollar home in Madrona. I found Will to be responsive and competitively priced. I have since moved to a mush smaller house -- but it still needs a ton of upgrades. In the last two years I have found that Will has changed his business style. Calls to him go unreturned for a week to 10 days. Services that he adve is uses on his website are " not available" ( the home maintenance program). When I was finally able to schedule a crew to come and perform handymen services on my house ( October 2016), Will did not bother to get back when I asked if he was available to do some additional small construction projects. I understand that given Seattle's building boom contractors and handymen are very, very busy these days. But basic , good customer service would suggest that you respond to customers -- particularly ones that you have worked for in the past -- in a timely manner ( certainly within 48 hours). After all, if Will could not do the work I would need to hire someone else -- and that takes time. When I e-mailed Will to tell him that I would appreciate it if he could simply respond to my e-mails, his response was that he was " busy" and sugg step that I look elsewhere for help. I am extremely disappointed by Will's response. Seattle will not always be this busy -- in slow times it is your loyal and tried and true customers who will help you survive the slow times. I will not be using Home Fix Services again.

I've used FIX several times over the past few years. I was extremely satisfied with re-tiling of my shower walls. Most recently I discovered water damage from water escaping my shower. They arrived the same day to assess the damage and sent someone over the following day to repair it. I always feel a strong personal commitment from the owner of the company to get the job done right.

I made an appointment with Fix Home Services. He failed to show. He said he sent an email cancelling the appointment. When I told him that he should have called for last minute cancellations, he hung-up. Needless to say, I would not call Fix Home again.

They did a new porch railing for me. I had taken some pictures of porches railings on other homes that were the kind I wanted. I showed them the pictures, and they were able to create exactly what I wanted. It was very ornate work and it turned out beautifully.

the entire Fix Home experience, from initial contact through on-site completion, was great. Professional, courteous, and exactly as quoted.

Fix Home Services did a first class job. The responded rapidly to our inquiry and provided a quick and comprehensive estimate. When the initial work revealed more damage than anticipated they almost immediately proposed an alternative repair strategy and were able to institute it within two days. They were personable,prompt, and professional throughout. Were great about cleanup and were able to do their work even while we were also having the house painted. We would definitely emply Fix again.

I had Fix Home Services perform several jobs for me while preparing my house for sale. I had a wall repaired, a kitchen fan and light installed, a toilet reseated, numerous lathe and plaster holes patched. They did great work, finishing all tasks professionally, on time, at a very reasonable cost. Fix Home Services was easy to work with and very responsive to my needs. I was extremely pleased with all aspects of their work, especially the professionalism.

Overall I was happy with the work done. I was out of town at the time, got a report from someone at the house of the problem. I called William at FIX HOME SERVICES and explained the situation as best I could based on the second-hand information I had (not actually being there myself). He came to the house a couple of days later and replaced the lock. But later I got a report that the garage door was still difficult to open with the key. He came back again shortly after and adjusted it (no charge). It has been working fine ever since.

I contacted Fix Home Services to assist in a giant debacle after hiring a horrific "contractor". Will came to our home, assessed the situation, and did a great job. They replaced our back door, waterproofing our family room, they had to open the ceiling and jack up a beam to remove a sag left by the previous people, and they replaced the floor that was installed incorrectly in our family room. They were prompt, timely, and professional. Their hourly rate was a little higher than other contractors, but they do beautiful work and fixed all of the issues we had after the previous people.

Excellent job start to finish, had to wait a bit because of their other commitments, but it worked out perfectly.

Overall, the work went fairly well. However, we had to have mutliple things "re-fixed" and were charged for it. The thing that was really frustrating was the lack of follow through at the end. Apparently, the company no longer wanted to do work for us (jobs not big enough, too nit-picky, too complex....not sure why really) and decided to not to communicate this to us, but rather just stop following up, returning phone calls etc.. Frankly, I don't think the company really wants to be in the "handyman" business, but is fishing for larger jobs.

The price was okay. I got three different bids and their price was within the same as the others. Their price was fine. He seemed like he did very well but I am not happy with the work right now. The guy had come in to do the grout and I had paid extra for the special clear grout. I had to have him come back in because it would tend to drip or did not go on very easily as he did not get it all. He came back in but my husband said since then that he did not still get it all. The shower doors did not shut correctly. I had to put a towel on the floor otherwise, it would pool in my bathroom. There was a piece of metal along the bottom of the glass door and on one side it did not even reach to the end of the door. It appeared that he had cut the piece of metal short. I am not happy at all right now. I was going to talk to him but I have not spoken to him yet because my husband wanted to check something out on the door. My husband wanted to check the directions on the door but I think that we should talk to him otherwise too much time would go by. He should have done a better job to begin with. He charged a little more to even up the wall but it was well within the price. The quality of his work was not very good. The tile that he put was very good and I was very satisfied with the tile. However, the door and the grouting were bad. He was not always responsive. My husband was retired and he was the one overseeing the work.

Came, build the island and left. Great job.

Out of perhaps a dozen contractors in the past nine months, this was by far the worst experience we have had. Communication with the owner was very strained and full of confusion. The worker showed up at the house without arranging for a day to do the work. He did this multiple times. Other workmen for different projects let him in to do the work. No one from the company contacted us to let us know they were in our house on any of the (maybe 5?) times they came to the house. Very bad form! The worker never once cleaned up after himself. In a bizarre twist, we appreciated the mess because at least we knew when he had come by our house to work. The owner claimed that the workmanship would be of very high quality, but we have found several problems with the work. In one case, the windowsill was not built to the correct dimensions, so the mason had to put the bricks back on in a weird way so that the look of the window from the outside does not match the others. In one other instance, they did not put a seal around the attic hatch, despite more than one discussion about how we wanted that done. The owner came into our house without knocking on the door one day we were there. Perhaps this was supposed to be a sign of familiarity but it freaked us out. One other time I came home to find the owner in our yard, even though we had not arranged to meet him that day. The most unprofessional part was that the owner threatened to put a lien on our house. This was just two days after we had received his bill and was in response to me questioning why the bill was ~$300 (one-third of the total bill!) more than we had agreed upon. He was upset at how the project stalled when we found an unexpected problem in the middle of the project and was getting nervous about meeting his payroll. But still, his attitude was about as unprofessional as I have encountered. Trying to intimidate us over $300 without giving an explanation for the higher cost was unacceptable. No explanation for the cost ever came forth. No accounting for any of the time or materials was ever produced. We compromised halfway on the extra amount.

The work took more or less a week. This was all work I could have done if I had more spare time and was at all handy. He guy was able to get it done quicker and better then I ever could and right on estimate. Definitely use them again next time I need something fixed up quick.

Bill Del Valle and his carpenter Dave were both professional and excellent. They were very timely and everything fit into my timeline perfectly. Installation and construction went very well as planned. Bill was easy to contact and interact with by email, and he takes credit cards which was a big plus !! Would definitely use them again in any future project.

We have used Fix Home Services before and hired them again because they are trustworthy, reliable, on time, clean, honest and just pleasant people. We never feel like William is taking advantage of us. he and his crew are GREAT to work with. We are so glad to have found them.

Deck had been power washed but not refinished about four years ago and had become green in parts. Cement had broken at the garage door. Fix came and gave written estimate -- which accurately projected cost. Work was done in timely manner and well.

It went great. Bill showed up with in 30 minutes and diagnosed/dealt with the problem in less than another 30 minutes. Turned out to be a problem with an ice maker in the upstairs. And then he said don't worry about the cost. He was my hero today

They were extremely prompt and professional...and willing to work around my schedule changes. The work was completed with high quality and he was extremely fast! One thing that I found particularly valuable is that he consulted with me on the best solution for my needs rather than the one that might be the most expensive. I definitely felt that they were concerned with getting me the best value rather than just the best charge. I'd definitely recommend them!!

Ultimatley I needed to find another contractor.

Fix came out right on time as expected. The person who showed up was professional and had a good understanding of handyman work. First, we walked through the laundry list of items I had for him to bid on. That took about 45 minutes and he was able to give me estimates for most of that on the spot. I told him that we had guests coming to visit so needed to install the shower rod asap in the new bathroom. I was surprised when he said he had time to do it right then. I was excited that we could just get it done. He was able to get the shower rod installed, but that was all the time he had that day. He did a great job considering that it required mounts into existing tile on the wall as well as a ceiling rod (it was a neo-angle rod). He was neat and cleaned up after his was done. The company did follow up later to see how the job went with a letter as they had lost my phone number. Subsequently, I have had a friend help with some of the other projects, but do plan to use Fix again in the future as they did a great job. The only reason I give them a "B" is because their hourly rates are slightly higher than others out there that I had bid on earlier. But at least, you know you are getting quality work done timely.

It went very well. After contacting Fix Home, Will promptly replied and came out to provide an estimate. We then scheduled the work and Will came on time, did an outstanding job, was courteous, clean, professional and came in right on budget. I would highly recommend Fix Home for any home repair or home projects you might have planned.

The process was professional and the finished product was terrific. The owner (Wil) and the person that did the work (Dave) were punctual, helpful, courteous, and easy to communicate with.

Contacted FIX Home Services about doing various jobs around my mom's home. The contractor, Will del Valle, came out to the house that morning when I explained that I live in Portland, OR and was returning that day. He looked around at the work in and outside the house, and to our relief, fixed the kitchen faucet "on the spot." Most of the work was scheduled to be done that week. The drainage issue was more involved and was done the following week. Things went very smoothly. My brother was very pleased with the quality of the work and the productive communication with the people who did the work, especially on the drainage problem.
