"Not true. This woman was quoted 5 hours to move goods into storage. BUT AT THE LAST MINUTE SHE CHANGED THE MOVE TO A DIFFERENT DESTINATION AND WAS GIVEN AN UPDATED WRITTEN ESTIMATE FOR INCREASED MOVE TIME TO WHICH SHE SIGNED HER APPROVAL. We explained that moving to an apartment in another town would increase the time and cost because: The travel time would be longer Instead of going from a loading dock directly to a storage unit, every itemnow must be carried across a parking lot, up an elevator, down halls, placed in rooms and unwrapped. She failed to reserve the elevator; the crew had to wait for others with nearly every load, which added to the time. Despite this she was charged for only 7.25 hours. We wrote off the remaining balance. The original plan was for two moves, first into storage and later from storage to the apartment. Because the apartment was ready early she ended up paying for only one move -about half what she originally expected to be charged"
"WE DON'T OFTEN GET COMPLAINTS BECAUSE THE JOB COST LESS THAN ESTIMATED We estimated three movers and four and one half hours to complete this move. We recommended the three person storefront coupon which covers up to four hours. This lady purchased it knowing she would probably have to pay for at least an extra half hour at full price. But on the day of this move things went like clockwork. Traffic was better than usual, access was unimpeded and the movers worked very quickly, finishing an hour faster than anticipated. This saved the client at least $77, since she did not have to pay for the anticipated extra half hour. (Unfortunately, there is no change with a discount coupon but we would have been happy to apply the difference to the second part of the move had this customer suggested it.) As she pointed out, if she had purchased the smaller coupon the move would have cost the same or more. She was also charged by mistake, which was reversed the moment it was discovered. Angies List keeps a large percentage of the coupon price so we make more money by selling the lesser coupon and charging full price for more of the move time. However we recommend what we think will be in the best interest of the client. Most of the time folks are happy when the move goes faster and costs less than estimated."

The movers called the morning of the move as we had agreed upon to let us know they were leaving the express movers parking to come the university district. It took them well over an hour to arrive. They did not call again to let us know they were arriving and the driver did not get out and scout the alley before turning in to decide if they should back in or drive in. They told us there was an accident that held them up. I asked if they check traffic conditions on line to chose the best route before leaving. Apparently they do not.
The driver of the truck was by her own admission not a driver and inexperienced. They spent 10 minutes to 15 minutes attempting to back into the parking lot off the alley below our apartment. She said the truck had just been fixed and she did not want to damage it again. There was adequate space to maneuver the truck if they had sent an experienced driver.
The driver also the lead mover came in to sign the papers and looked at the items to move but did not organize her assistant or us in the order of items to move. Her assistant was hung over with a strong odor of alcohol and unorganized. He was not strong enough to move many items and my son and I did much of the moving. The driver did not direct the work. She packed things well but left all the decisions on getting things out to the truck to assistant who was not capable.
They got the truck to Georgetown in a timely manner. Again the assistant made poor decisions on which door to bring items to my sons new place in Georgetown. My son, his girlfriend and I did the majority of the move. The driver worked hard but did not organize her assistant or the move. The assistant at times was just absent as the driver and we worked to move.
I have moved a number of times in the past two years. This moving team needed additional training and wasted time and were unorganized. if there had been any real heavy items they would not have been able to move the items safely. The price was good and having the large truck was helpful. Suggest Two men with a truck for moving if you need a better experience
"• THIS MOVE WAS COMPLETED 1.75 HOURS FASTER, AT CONSIDERABLY LESS COST THAN ESTIMATED. • A.M. Travel took exactly 1 hour, as expected. (20 miles, through downtown Seattle, in heavy morning traffic takes time.) • Of course it takes a few minutes to maneuver a large truck in unfamiliar surroundings…but , as noted, the job was completed in well under the estimated time. • There was no need for the customer to “help”, he chose to do so, wanting to reduce the time & cost to less than estimated. • We send workers appropriate for the job at hand. Had there been large or heavy items we would have sent a different crew. • If an employee arrived smelling of alcohol, the office staff and driver would have noticed and he would have been replaced."
"What a nice review, thank you very much. We're especially happy to see that we have scheduled another move for you next week. We love repeat customers, especially when they are as nice as you. We will be happy to help you every time you need moving or storage services."
"Thank you for the kind words, we're glad you would hire us again. Because this was a second move for the day, we told you in advance that the start time was tentative. It's impossible to set a start time since we cannot know exactly how long the first move will take. We provided a target time, advised that we might arrive earlier or later, and let you know when to expect us as soon as we knew."
"Thank you for the show of appreciation for our hard working movers, they were delighted to help you. We try to hire veterans whenever possible, we also appreciate their service to our country, thank you for your note of thanks for her. Please do call on us again anytime you need help with moving or storage, we'd love to work for you again."
"Thank you for the nice review with all the “A’s”. (But 3 A’s, a B and one C actually average A-/B+) We’re happy to note: • Your job came in exactly on estimate • Nothing was damaged • You would hire is again And, finally, thanks for the generous tip you gave the movers – they always appreciate having their hard work recognized."
It turned out okay. I will tell you they were scheduled to come to my house on Friday. They had staffing problems; some people called in to work. They were supposed to be there that morning. They called at around noon to tell me that it was going to be delayed until about 2 o'clock. Then they called me around 2 o'clock and told me that the staff member was not reporting at all so they could not come. So they pushed the move out to Saturday and they showed up Saturday so there actually was a delay in our move date because of that. They did make it right on Saturday, I mean they did a good job, but they did not, like, compensate us for any of our inconvenience or anything like that. Luckily it was not a situation where their arrival and delivery of our furniture was dependent on us moving out or anything like that, thank goodness. It could have been a real problem. They had significant additional charges. Also, I purchased an Angie's Deal with a staff of four or four for five hours, if I am not mistaken. Also it was to be a 26-foot truck, but what they showed up with was three staff people and a smaller truck. It got kind of complicated as to what was paid, but I do know we paid an additional amount. They told us that it took them three hours hours to pull items our of storage and load the truck. I was kind of surprised about that because, quite frankly it was not that many items. I think it took an excessively long time to pull items out of storage out of their warehouse. It took about two hours for them to unload items into storage. I think they are very expensive.
"We’re glad to see this customer thinks we did a good job again. This was the 5th move we’ve done for her. Here are the details: • The move was done faster and the cost came in at $116 less than estimated. (With her Angie’s discount it was actually $330 less than estimated.) Our price did increase by a negligible $2 hr since her first move in 2011. • We were scheduled for early afternoon arrival (after inventory, padding and loading all the goods from storage in the morning). • An ill worker made us late so we offered the option to finish same day or take delivery the next day – she chose to have us come the next day for her convenience, as she had an event Friday night. • The job only required 3 movers, but we allowed her to use a 4 person coupon – giving her a lower hourly rate and higher discount. • The coupon offered a 24’ truck, the size that was used. • The customer was provided a detailed, itemized statement."
"There were groups of workers from three companies present on move day, including delivery people who carried a sharp edged metal table – unwrapped - to an upstairs bedroom, where they tore the carpet and did not admit to it. We pad furniture to protect it and the walls/floors. Our movers work in high end homes regularly, without incident. They do not steal. With a houseful of strangers from multiple companies anyone might have picked up the missing item, or she may have simply misplaced it in the mess and confusion. This highlights the importance of securing small valuable like electronics, purses, medicine, cash, or jewelry before allowing anyone access to your home."
"Thank you for your vote of confidence and very nice review. We will gladly help you again any time you need moving or storage services."
