Excel Home Painting

We had Excel perform work on several of our construction company's projects this summer, and we could not rave enough about the service we, and our clients, received. It is very difficult to find subcontractors who offer reasonable prices for high standards. But excel does so with professionalism, affability, and a high level of responsiveness. When we ran into some problems with one job, they immediately returned and completed the work to our specifications. We are more than pleased to do business with them, and proud to have our clients meet and work with them.

While this was an easy job, the company did everything perfectly from beginning to end. They arrived on time, painted two coats, cleaned up and were finished in one day. The paint job was clean and sharp, and no work materials were left behind. I hardly knew the painter was here that day! This company is great to deal with, their work is impeccable and I definitely recommend them for any painting job.

Ryan is very personable, knowledgeable and responsive. The proposal was well prepared and accurate. The team lead, Chris was also communicative and helpful. The team did a pretty good job at protecting new landscaping around the house. Overall, a great experience.

Excel promised and delivered on time. Ryan did an excellent job of estimating the work that needed to be done and gave us a reasonable price. When the assigned crew showed up to work here, they were polite and pleasant. Everyone worked long hours, and everyone was careful and safety-conscious, which was necessary in our situation because some areas on the house were hard to access, requiring ingenuity and climbing prowess to paint. Our experience with the lead painter, Duane, was great -- his positive attitude, professionalism, good communication skills, and excellent workmanship were undoubtedly the key to our getting the finest paint job we've ever had. Overall, this company is conscientious and works very hard to please the customer. We can't say enough good things about them. Hire them!

Excellent! From the beginning of the project (Ryan's review of buildings and submission of estimate) to the completion of the project, the reps from Excel were models of professionalism. Estimate was detailed and they adhered to all plans outlined, and came in on budget. The house and garage required extensive scraping and prep work. Each evening when I came home the area surrounding both was spotless -- much appreciated by both me and my neighbors. David was an excellent project manager and Chris, as lead painter, was patient and extremely helpful with respect to working with me on colors, etc. Customer service was outstanding. I have had neighbors comment on the high quality of the work. I truly could not have been more satisfied.

Ryan came out to bid the job. He was very professional and submitted his bid within 2 days. It was very thorough and contained photos of problem areas on our house. He was also good at following up to see if we had questions or made a decision. We eventually chose a smaller company who could do the work during the same time period.

The quality of their work was the most outstanding attribute.

They are very detailed and do extremely good followup. The only reason why we didn?t use their services was because of the price. The painter had given me a bid for the interior painting as well but we are not going to get it painted right now. However, we may still use their services and there wasn?t anything negative about them. They were great to work with.

Ryan gave me an estimate very promptly and extremely professionally. I have never received such a comprehensive estimate, and even got a revised estimate almost immediately. I did choose another contractor for the painting work, but would highly recommend Ryan and Excel Home Painting, as I feel they would do an exemplary thorough job.

My home is beautiful, from the prep work to the final finishing touches Excel Painting exceeded my expectations. I would recommend them in a second to any of my friends or family.

I moved into my new 2 bedroom condo in the Brix building on Capitol Hill and couldn?t have been more excited? until I saw the paint job. Everything was painted a really boring beige upon move in- the walls, ceiling, trim and doors- which looks awful, no definition at all. I don?t know much about paint, but I know that flat paint DOES NOT work on trim or doors. I knew immediately that I wanted the trim, doors and ceiling a white semi-gloss and needed some help for the wall colors. I contacted Excel after positive reviews from others on Angieslist and spoke with Ryan. He was very easy to work with and very informative. He came out and bid the job for a very fair price so I immediately gave him a deposit. David was the lead painter who painted my condo and he was so great to work with- very knowledgable and very intricate with his work. He let me know that they would spray out the trim and doors to avoid brush stokes and that made an incredible difference! It was amazing how much more the trim and doors popped with the white- it turned out absolutely fabulous! And with the white on the ceiling, it looks like I have about 10 foot rooms. Then David helped me pick out colors for my walls which was an added bonus. I couldn?t be happier with the work they provided- truly went above and beyond my expectations. Very professional to work with and the paint job is perfect. I highly recommend Excel to anyone looking for interior (or exterior painting) in the Seattle area- especially if you moved into a new place like I did with bland walls. A+++++

Ryan provides a detailed, professional bid and references so you can talk to others who have used Excel. I appreciated being able to communicate via e-mail which helped move things along quickly. Excel was able to squeeze in our small job before it became cold and rainy. They came back later to do the interior. Ryan is very professional and his painter was too. Both exterior and interior look excellent. There we no problems at all with their work. I think they might have sanded the south facing window a bit more but their coming when they said they would, keeping the same nice-to-have-around staff on the job, doing excellent work, and keeping things clean and tidy was much appreciated.

We were very happy with Ryan and Excel Painting?s work. The crew was always punctual. They told me what days and time they would be at the house and were consistently there when they said they would be. They worked diligently throughout each scheduled work day. We were having other remodel work done to the exterior of the house by other contractors. Excel was accommodating in working around the schedules of the other contractors. They were always courteous and professional.

It went great. They arrived on time, and the painter completed the job in about six hours with one 20-30 break. The quality of the job was an 8 or 9 out of 10. Very, very good. They cleaned up well.

The guys came on time & were polite. They worked hard and cleaned up well each day. But, the quality of their work was unbelieveably poor. They painted the entire interior of our house for 5 days and spent an additional 3 days cleaning up their messes and mistakes. Still, there are splatters all over our furniture, fixtures and floors that I have been cleaning up. There are very noticeable spots of colored paint on our trim all over. There are many spots where they did not achieve complete coverage with the paint. Left our utility sink and counter, which was brand new, full of paint stains. For the price we paid and the time they spent, I'm disappointed. I'm having to re-do much of their work. I would never ask them back or recommend them again. They are very nice guys who just don't seem to know how to paint.

The entire process went off without a hitch. Ryan provided me an extremely detailed bid that described exactly what work was to be completed, how the work would be completed, and what products would be used. One of the things that I liked best about the bid is that it was a fixed price. I received the bid the same day that we met for the walk through. The project started on exactly the day and time that I was told. The employees were extremely professional and wore matching uniforms. Project manager David Koewler was great to work with and kept me updated throughout the process. When the project was completed the crew throroughly cleaned up after themselves and even swept the leaves off of my balcony. I would absolutely use this company again and would be happy to refer them.

It went very smoothly, and the crew was very respectful of my space, leaving ZERO mess after they were done. They were very fast and were in and out of my home in 3 days.

Ryan followed through on everything in a timely manner; charged less than the estimate in the end. Did all the work in one day. Came when he said he was coming. Friendly, helpful, very professional. A great experience!

Excel gave a prompt estimate - with a competitive price. They were able to finish the window work as planned - prior to the winter storms. Finding our preferred colors went very smoothly. The exterior was painted as soon as weather permitted in the spring. We were inconvenienced minimally during the process. It was a professional job well done.

Excel did a superb job. The house looks great. The company was recommended by a prominent real estate agent. The general manager, Ryan, was prompt and very thorough with his bid (nine pages with pictures) and provided a detailed description of the services to be provide. He provided names and addresses of other customers in our area which made it easy to check Excel's work out. The bid was very competitive. The crew was very competent and responsible and really knew their stuff. They kept us informed and were very solicitous. After painting two sides of the house, we decided to change colors. They were very patient - encouraging us to get it right. The change did not impact the price. At the end of the job, the crew leader did a thorough walk around with me. He identified more touch ups than I did and was very accepting and willing to make the job meet the highest standards. My neighbor was so impressed that he hired the company to do his house. While working on that job, the crew leader noticed that workman who replaced my back screen door uncovered some of the old paint job around the border. Without being asked, he came over and painted over the old paint. Very classy! Top of the line work.

We were extremely satisfied with the project and love the new paint in our townhouse! Excel Coatings was very responsive and easy to work with. I started by getting a quote from two different painters. Excel Coatings not only came in as the least expensive, but also brought a lot of company information for me to review that included pictures of previous projects and evaluation forms from customers. I appreciated Ryan's advice on where to start/stop the different paint colors as well. Ryan emailed me the quote very quickly following the consultation and we started the project soon thereafter. The painters arrived on time and even took off their shoes without me asking (we have a brand new home and always take off our shoes). They did an excellent job and completely cleaned up after themselves. The paint looks beautiful and all the edges/lines are perfect. We will call them again for any other painting projects we decide to do.

Very professional company. My washer broke on the 3rd floor and leaked into the second floor ceiling. I had the drywall repaired and Excel came in and repainted it. Ryan came out to give me a quote and was great. Had nice marketing materials and just felt organized. He was able to give me a quote on the spot, but followed up with a formal bid via email later that day. I booked him on the spot and he took a piece of the damaged ceiling to match the paint (which is a flawless match). The painter who came out was neat and thorough. also very nice. left the house clean and even helped me with a spot upstairs that i'd tried to touch up myself (poorly).

Went great, from the initial email contact (quick response), through the initial bid visit (scheduled quickly for a day/time that worked well for me, showed up on time and ready to get to work, took accurate notes of what needed to be done), through the proposal (again, quick and comprehensive response - and a less expensive price that the other bid I got), the actual work, and the follow-up and billing (sent a customer survey, gave us a detailed sheet of what products they used, provided an article on how to maintain your paint job). Great experience! Very professional.
