Ed came out and looked at the job. The existing panel was set back in the wall. He asked whether we wanted the new panel also set back in the wall, or brought out flush. I said I didn't care, he could do whatever was easier. The work went very well, a nice neat job. The problem came when the inspector came and said that the panel couldn't be set back in the wall, it needed to be brought flush. He also found one other small problem. Ed had the minor problem fixed right away, but there was some back and forth between him, me and the inspector about bringing the panel flush with the wall. Ed wanted me to split the cost with him. My position was that it was his decision to have it set back in the first place, and he should have known the code. He still wanted me to pay half. In the end, he worked out a compromise with the inspector, and we changed the sheetrock around the panel to make it more accessible. This made Ed look worse than he was. He remained responsive and polite throughout.
Description of Work: 1. Install new surface mounted 200 amp meter socket. 2. Install 2 mast and strike for utility wires. 3. Install new Cutler Hammer main breaker panel. 4. Reuse existing breakers to pickup existing circuits. 5. Provide grounding per National Electrical Code. 6. Provide electrical permit as required.

THEY WERE FINE. I SHOPPED AROUND AND THEIR PRICES WERE GOOD. A FRIEND RECOMMENDED THEM. I WAS DISSATISFIED WITH ONE THING, BUT THEY CAME BACK AND FIXED IT THE NEXT DAY.
