Truth is usually stranger than fiction, and such is the case here. I just recently signed up for Angie's list (AL) due to a groupon. First, I noticed a 'large plumbing company (LPC)' truck next door a couple weeks before Christmas, which worked there for nearly a week, but due to holiday circumstances was unable to do the normal neighborly commiserating. Mid-afternoon Christmas day, my ground floor toilets (plural) stop working, so I know I'm in trouble, but am thinking about the coincidence, common cause? My investigative gears are turning, neighbors are 'out of town', so I go to AL to research for a 'recommendation', notice none of the LPCs are on the list, and decide to give Drain Pro Plumbing Inc (DPPI) a shot. Raman answers the phone, listens to my story, recommends I sit tight (ST)' for the night, and will be out first thing in the morning, which would certainly be cheaper than on Christmas Day! I don't ST very well when significant $s are in play, so I geared up and went into my crawl space to investigate, and could see by the drips from the cleanouts that the blockage was likely out in the yard, but lacking a known outdoor cleanout, hoped DPPI snaking/scoping it would solve the problem. He gave me an 8-9am window, and was knocking on my door at 8am much to my surprise. I shared what I knew, he investigated under the house for a couple minutes, pulled the closest toilet to the line exiting the foundation, got the snake/camera out 90ft before it was stopped (uses above ground tool to locate point and depth and marked the spot), which is nearly the edge of my property, and heading in the general direction of where my neighbor had their yard torn up. Suspicion rises, but since they or offspring can't be reached, a hole in my garden and cleanout installation is bid/agreed upon, and planned for Saturday morning. In the mean time, (Friday afternoon) I call the city concerned about a trunk line problem, get a visit from them, am told the main line was cleaned out 2 months ago (more coincidence?), secure the 'as-built (AB)' drawing from them, told I'm responsible for the line all the way to the trunk line in the middle of the street (arterial), envision more $$$s literally and figuratively going down the drain. I dig according to the AB hoping that the existing outdoor cleanout is just below grade, but find it 3 ft down at the pipe (really!!!), take pics of the AB and what I've uncovered and text them to Raman, brainstorm over the phone with him (don't believe LPCs would entertain this), decide to go ahead with the the DPPI digging, and move some shrubs to save them. Saturday morning crew of 3 (good people, I know because I spent 10 hours/until 6:30pm with them) show up at 8:30am (at the beginning of the promised time window again!), and they knock out a 5 foot hole before Raman shows up with the water jet cutter and camera. Cutter goes out about 25 ft before hitting something hard (you can hear it banging against something), pipe failure?, Raman uses his tool to spot it, depth and location, (imagine my surprise), in my neighbors yard right where they had everything torn up a week ago! A quick call to the LPC, telling them we think they blocked my line, them telling me there would be an extra charge if I couldn't wait until tomorrow morning (Sunday, really?) for them to come out. Here's the really fun part, Raman and his dig site supervisor used to work for the LPC, trained the guy who did the work, phoned him, learned he had lined the pipes as suspected, found he knew he was covering the 'Y' but gambled that it was a 'dead line', lost that bet, but still wasn't coming out until Sunday morning! More fun, I have 25 people planning to show up at my house at noon Sunday for a Seahawk party, I still can't reach neighbor or offspring, DPPI and I brainstorm some more, bid and agree on a 7 ft hole in my neighbors yard (where it was already torn up), somewhat at risk since I can't reach anyone until were 6 ft down. Bottom line, they stay until 6:30pm to replace the 'Y fitting", (which I keep for 'evidence' for the city and the LPC, which will be paying the bill), and got my pipes flowing again! DPPI is small relative to the LPCs, but they treat their customers like they should, like they want their repeat business, their recommendation, verbally or through AL!
Description of Work: Investigated the blockage non-destructively first, dug 2 holes (5 ft and 7ft respectively) to uncover problem, repaired, coordinated city permits and inspection, restored sites to reasonable condition.

We had backed up drains lines, backing up toilet and lavatory sink on 12/23/2014. I called two other companies, but due to the holidays, one company turned us down, saying they could schedule us in first week of January. The other company said they would come but were charging us extra due to coming out in holiday hours. So I tried my luck the third time, calling Drain Pro Plumbing Inc. They were very courteous and friendly, and said they would send someone right away. They sent out Raman, who was very polite and friendly, he came and saw what was going on, firstly he took out the toilet seat, tried snaking the line. but discovered that the pipe was broken 7 ft deep, under all the utilities, electric and power. They got our authorization to go ahead and fix it. They had to hire a sub contractor, back truck, to suck all the dirt, since he explained that with all the utilities it was hard to dig. They managed to get to the pipe, it wasn't easy work since all the utilities were in place, and the technician and his helpers worked really hard to make sure nothing else was damaged while working. They discovered the pipe, and made the repair. Then finished the job, and clean the job site pretty well. It was huge surprise, since not all the plumbers are clean workers, but they made sure everything was pretty neat and tidy. I am very thankful to Raman and his team of professionals, who came out on 12/23 as well as Christmas eve itself, to make our christmas a success. I had a big family gathering, which due to Drain Pro's help went pretty well. I would really want to thank them, and wish them a great NEW YEAR. I would certainly recommend all my friends and fellow members to hire this team of professionals.

My story starts with Roto Rooter. Upon discovery that my sewer clean out was backing up, I called Roto Rooter. He was here less than an hour, could only get 20 feet, handed me a stack of estimates if I want further work done and charged me $569.00 (don?t call them). I began the process of getting bids for a spot repair. Gene Johnson pluming bought my request from A+ Sewer Technologies and scheduled a time. Once here (remember, I was only looking for estimates), the tech Phil SWORE he could clear the line, was ADAMENT that he could clear the line, 97% sure he could clear the line. He got as far as Roto Rooter and succeeded in breaking off the bit at the end of the snake?so now that?s in the line to, charging me $300.00. He felt bad, so he came out the next day to mark the line and discovered another potential problem at the clean out five feet from the sidewalk. He thought maybe I was on septic and called the city?.really. He sent me an open ended bid for 5 foot spot repair $2300.00 escalating if any further issues were found. I then got two more bids from NW Sewer and Drain Pro Pluming. I went with Drain Pro Plumbing for a 3ft repair and line flush $1800.00. Turns out the Cotton Wood tree I removed in September (I have only lived here 3 months) five feet from the line had completely destroyed 30 feet of sewer line. The additional bid for 30 foot replacement was $5700.00. Now, just from the 3 foot explore, they knew three things?there were roots, there were utilities and there were rocks. Next day, they rented a backhoe (I was surprised they didn?t have one) and started digging. They got five feet from the sidewalk and encountered roots 9 inches thick which required a chain saw to remove (also rented). They then hired a truck to ?suck? dirt out on the other side of the utility lines (supposedly $700.00-never did see the invoice). Hook up completed after two days of tough work (unbeknownst to me, with the exception of the inspection, they were done working). Now they want more money because it was such a ?tough job?, oh and it was raining one day which made them miserable while they were working. Raman said no one would have taken this job, I was lucky to have him and it?s going to cost me more, ?I hate North Bend?, ?I?m never coming back here?. I guess escalating costs are not unusual in this trade, but it was a shock to me, so buyers beware. Additional $2880.00 incl. tax with no prior notification until the hook up was completed and they were essentially done with me. Communication was shockingly poor. Price escalation was never discussed with me or I would have chosen differently. Drain Pro has left a 60 yr old Grandmother with no money, the utilities for the entire street exposed and a 30X3X5 foot trench to fill in ( so essentially the job was not completed) because (I'm guessing) Drain Pro Plumbing does not have a backhoe, and I received no price cut for this, also stuck with site cleanup (mountain of plastic sheathing, containers of sewage, 5 sheets of plywood, and broken apparatus, I wish I could post pictures-you?d be shocked). Total cost $11,000 (for 2 days and 6 hours), and LOTS of drama. (Yes, $2840.00 over their promise). Just got my shovel and wheelbarrow today, wish me luck! Amended 1/23/15: In an effort to gain a more favorable review, Drain Pro Plumbing has reduced my balance due by $1200.00. Better than nothing...I have amended the cost of job to $9800.00. The real fix here was to honor the original bid.....

Raman and Henry are the best! If I could give them an A++++ I would. They showed up on time, diagnosed the problem very quickly and got to work on the problem. Within 4 hours the were done, cleaned up and on their way. I like to support smaller family owned business, bypass the big guys and I'm so glad I did. Raman is friendly, honest as the day is long and does great work. Henry his sidekick is a wonderful guy as well, very dedicated to his work. Way to go guys! I will pass your name on whenever the opportunity comes up. Kathy

On a Saturday morning I discovered raw sewage overflowing from the drain and toilet in my basement. Drain Pro came quickly, unclogged the sewer line, and took a video to determine the root cause. He gave me a quote for the permanent fix and installing clean-outs outside the house. Raman was professional, friendly and prompt. I'd highly recommend Drain Pro Plumbing.

Raman was punctual, courteous, easy to talk to. He took time to explain to me how septic tank works (as a new owner of the house...and never owned a house with a septic system before, this was great!), so I will be able to do some basic inspection and maintenance going forward. He pointed out the septic tank design has improved over the last 40 years, and my inlet baffle can benefit from an improve design. I needed a new inlet baffle anyway, as it was visually broken (part of the contributing factor of it getting clogged in the 1st place) He comes across as very knowledgeable and organized. At the end of 1st visit, able to schedule the 2nd visit easily (though had to wait ~10 days...think he was quite booked). And that 2nd visit went even smoother than the 1st one. Almost 9 months since visit, everything is still just fine.
Description of Work: 1st visit - Diagnosed reason for sewage backup. Cleared blockage to septic tank. Voluntarily cleaned the septic tank exit filter. Recommended an update (install a T-inlet baffle) that would dramatically reduce likelihood of future blockage. Scoped and visually inspected main drain. 2nd visit - Installed T inlet baffle.

Spectacularly. Really. The reviews are all accurate. Raman is the plumber you keep wanting to find. He answers the phone directly or returns calls quickly, shows up on time, evaluates problems quickly, explains them thoroughly but succinctly, works fast, picks up after himself, makes suggestions when asked for, charges what he quotes, and is just a pleasant guy to have in your home. His assistant/apprentice is a personable fellow who works well with Raman, and I apologize for not recalling his name. We are so relieved to have a plumber we can rely on for consistent and capable service who is fairly priced and responsive.
Description of Work: 1) Installed a new kitchen faucet. Diagnosed the periodic flooding of our laundry area by our washing machine. $150, using our $65 coupon from Angie's list. 2) Replaced the original (60 year old) cast iron pipe running from our laundry/kitchen area to the pipe exiting to the sewer line $700. Repaired a leaking exterior faucet and shortened the pipe, which was protruding at least 8" from the wall $125 (I had asked for a new faucet but he suggested he try to repair the existing one as it would cost us much less - and it did)

Great. They were very responsive, came when they promised, and charged what they quoted. When they did the hydrojetting and scoping - they did some additional work (replaced a p-trap and adjusted a drain) and didn't charge anything extra. They came back for the sewer line replacement and worked well with the construction crew we already had on site and worked well into the night to be able to finish so that construction schedule would not be impacted. They lined up the right permits and made sure we were happy before completing the project. Ramen even came by to check a pipe we found in the construction excavation as a favor to us. All in all - great, professional experience.
Description of Work: initially, Drainpro came out to do a hydrojetting of all the pipes before a construction project and to scope out sewers for any obstructions. Our sinks/bathtubs were not draining well and we wanted something more effective than snaking. We also wanted to see what shape our 60+ year older sewer lines were in before breaking ground. DrainPro ended up finding some cracks in the sewer lines and we decided to take care of that with them too. They excavated and replaced line and collaborated with contractor on best placement for follow on construction work.

Raman arrived for our appointment right on time. The job involved clearing several downspout drains and snaking a couple of outdoor floor drains. This was Raman's first job for our condominium complex and he quickly realized the job was bigger than he imagined over the phone. He said he would have to divide the job up over two days. He proceeded to clear the most critical drains that day, and agreed to return a few days later to take care of the remaining drains. He provided us with a detailed bid for the job so we knew exactly what to expect and what the total cost would be. As agreed, Raman returned a few days later to complete the job. There ended up being a couple of damaged pipes which would have to be dug up and repaired so they couldn't be cleared. Raman agreed to prepare a bid for that work for future consideration. I was very happy with the work Raman did and would definitely call him for any plumbing issues that come up.

Raman and his apprentice Henry arrived on time Tuesday to look at the problem. They realized that the best way to replace the leaking P-trap was to use a special bolt-on, rather than a threaded one. The problem with using a regular P-trap was that there was no way to get in with a wrench to tighten it properly, due to an adjoining/interfering joist, as well as copper water pipes. He said he wouldn't be comfortable using just the standard P-trap, as it might end up leaking again. After explaining the best solution, Raman apologized and said he didn't have the special P-trap with him, and that he'd like to come back Friday to take care of it. Since the renters weren't planning to move in until mid November, that was an easy answer - yes! Fast forward to Friday. Raman called to say he was running about 20 minutes late, and would arrive about 10:20-10:30. He and Henry arrived at 10:20, and were able to go right to work. By 11:45 the work had been completed, and everything cleaned up. Having experience with some of the "Big Name" plumbing companies, I was more than happy with the fair price, and excellent quality of their work. Thanks Raman and Henry!

The first one is on a house I bought last year. The house was built in 1901. Its side sewer pipe is concrete. Lots of root have grown into the pipe. The roots made the pipe clogged. Water are flooding into the house. On the night it happened, I called a famous plumbing company. They came to fix the problem and told me that a section of side sewer needs to be replaced. They quoted me $8000 above. We negotiated and settled on $5500. They replaced a 4 ft pipe. After they finished this replacement, they told me that there are another 20 ft need to replaced... I was shocked. They told me before that the problem will be solved after replacing the 4 ft... They gave me a quote of $13000+... OMG! I don't know what to do. I started searching around for other plumbers. That's actually why I joined Angie's list, because all of the plumbers on Yelp are either too busy or gave out ridiculous bid. I found Raman based on previous review. Ramen came and evaluate the situation. He said that the first thing to do is to clean the root in the pipe, and then evaluate the detail situation. The detail cleaning cost around $600 (I shopped around and others cost $800-$1000). He got it done in 3 hours and told us that the sewer can be relined. He gave us a bid of $5800 excluding tax. From his cleaning job, I know that he charge very reasonable price. We went ahead with him on relining the side sewer line. He got it done in three days, get the permit, burned a DVD for us, and installed a clean out for us for free. We are SO HAPPY with his service. Raman is a honest, hard working, and down to earth person. He really cares about customers and want to help us to solve problems. He is not doing the job to maximize his profit. We are really impressed. We actually called him again two weeks later for another job. We hope that he can be our plumber for life! :)

While my problem was quickly solved, I was very impressed with Raman's patience, courtesy, problem-solving skills, and overall professionalism. He called me about 20 minutes before he was due to arrive to let me know that he was stuck in traffic and would be a little late, which I appreciated-- it's Seattle, traffic is a fact of life, not his fault. He got here, was friendly and polite, insisted on wearing disposable shoe covers even though I told him he didn't have to, and got right to work. I have just moved in to a new house and had been hearing infuriating sporadic whining noises in the walls, sometimes for no reason, sometimes when faucets were run, toilets flushed, etc. I thought it was something to do with the water pressure (I had read that this could be due to the pressure being too high) and tried adjusting the pressure regulator but without any success. Raman tested the regulator and the compression tank and assured me that they were functioning properly. Unfortunately, none of these noises would occur while he was here, although he patiently waited while I tried to get that to happen. Then he listened to some other complaints of mine (whining shower heads, low water pressure at the sink) and suggested that it could be that the water pressure was in fact too low and explained how this could be causing the noises in the walls. He adjusted the water pressure incrementally, walked around the house listening to the shower heads with me, checking the pressure at the sinks, and found a setting that fixed those problems, and advised me that this would probably take care of the whining in the walls, and to call him if it didn't. So far, it seems like his adjustments have fixed all the problems I was having, noises included. I especially appreciate that he took the time to explain to me the mechanical basis of the problems instead of just fixing them and leaving, and did so without treating me like I was clueless. If I ever have plumbing problems again, I'm absolutely calling him and will recommend him to anyone I know.

The issues occurred on the Friday leading in to the Labor Day weekend, which could have been a nightmare had it not been for the timely responsiveness of Raman and Henry. They were out the same day, and provided a temporary solution to get us through the weekend. They were exceptionally professional, and provided detailed information at every step of the process. They were careful to inform me of potential for additional costs along the way, as well. Their diagnostics included a video inspection of the lines, showing me exactly where the trouble spots were, and then they outlined multiple options for corrective action. The following week they arrive at the exact time we were told to expect them. They worked multiple days, cutting concrete, digging to the plumbing, replacing the plumbing, snaking and hydro-jetting, and ensuring that everything was completed to an unmistakable degree of excellence. They were very careful to cut the concrete cleanly, and then later replaced it to cover their tracks. It's all about the details! As long as I had them at the house I also asked them to replace a rusted garbage disposal, and to replace the faucet in one of our bathrooms. They were careful to cover their shoes and clean up after themselves, which is another detail I respect and appreciated. Overall, a great experience and I look forward to working with them again in the future. Highly recommended!

Raman from Drain Pro Plumbing showed up on time and prepared to get to work with his assistant. They were both very professional, assessed the drain situation, and got right to work with a power snake. They even put shoe covers over their shoes to protect our carpet! Within 30 minutes, they had cleared the drain pipe of excess food debris, reconnected our washer back to the drain pipe and verified that both the washer and kitchen sink/disposal were draining properly. They also did a nice job cleaning up after themselves. Great job! I would certainly use them again as well as recommend them to any of my friends and acquaintences.

They could not fit their snake in the clean out in the house, so they pulled the toilet from the downstairs bathroom. We then discovered that the downstairs toilet was plumbed strangely and could also not be used to snake the drain. They then dug a hole in the backyard above the side sewer pipe, cut the pipe, installed a large clean out access point, and finally snaked the line and took the camera impression.

Amazing! We were extremely happy with Drain Pro Plumbing and we will use them again in the future! What did we expect? We purchased an old home with 70 year old pipes that were almost completely clogged. In addition, one of the indoor sewage out-take pipes had a huge crack in it. The toilet bowls would also have trouble flushing a fly let alone anything else. And let's be honest, with four boys in the house that just wasn't going to work. We expected all of this to be replaced with modern materials per modern codes. Expectations exeeded! Not only was everything replaced, but our home was transformed! All with minimal damage to walls and existing structures. The most dramatic change occured in the basement. All original plumbing in the basement hung low from the support beams and huge steel pipes X-crossed large portions of the space. We had dreams of finishing the basement one day, but honestly didn't see how we could with the pipe layout gobbling up about 2 inches of head room. Raman, the owner of Drain Pro, was able to rework all of the piping to dramatic effect. We now have a large open basement with ample headroom! What did we like best? Raman leads each project and he is a true master craftsman with an eye for the future potential of your home. He intuitively understands what works and what does not, and he anticipates future needs for potential remodels and changes. Before we mentioned a single concern about the basement he came to us with an idea for elevating the pipes. He also has keen insights into how plumbing might be used around the house. It also must be mentioned that other contractors coming through the house have marveled at Raman's work! Last note: Raman and his crew are the tidiest contractors we have ever worked with. They clean up and haul away leaving you with all of the enjoyment and none of the mess. Highest recommendation! We own a small cottage that we're going to update in a year or two and we are definitely using Drain Pro to do the job!
Description of Work: Replaced almost entire original plumbing system in 1930's built home. All original pipes were galvanized steel with some more recent self repair work in downstairs bathroom Plumbing rework involved a half bathroom on the second floor, a full bathroom and kitchen on the main floor, and all of the piping in the basement including piping to washer, sewage outake, bathroom drainage and outdoor hose faucets. Two toilet bowls were also replaced. Total job took three days.

As stated above, Ramen at Drain Pro Pluming did a great job, conducting himself with true professionalism, being prompt for his appointments, and always able to conquer whatever problem we throw his way. We have employed his services many times in the last 2-3 years, and plan on doing so in the future for any plumbing problems that may come our way. I would recommend Ramen and Drain Pro for anyone who has a plumbing issue. You can't beat them in quality, promptness, knowledge, professionalism and price!
Description of Work: Ramen of Drain Pro Plumbing came to our house on Monday, September 8th to repair a break between the kitchen drainage pipes. He repaired the breakage, tested for leaks, and then cleaned up after himself. (This visit was about $200) As always, Ramen fixed the problem promptly and thoroughly. We asked if he could come back at a later time to replace the old, and impossible to turn valves under the sink as well. He made an appointment on the spot to return later that week to do this. He and his assistant again did a great job in taking care of the problem. We now have more than adequate hot water pressure through the faucet! (The second visit was about $300). We have called on Ramen at Drain Pro many times over the last 2-3 years... both for our own home and also for my Mom's place. Each time he has been a true professional, able to take on and accomplish even the toughest tasks, fixing the problem for a fraction of the price that many plumbers charge. I would recommend Ramen and Drain Pro for any and all of your plumbing needs.

.There was a puddle in an "under the patio" box that housed the shut-offs for the house and the outside water supply. Raman determined that the leak was related to the pipe that ran from shut-off box on the patio to the free-standing hose pipe on the opposite side of the patio. It ran underneath the patio, about a twelve-foot distance. DrainPro dug a trench parallel to the original pipe, but along the outside edge of the patio, re-routing the piping. They then dug from the original underground box out to meet the trench. A new yard hydrant with two faucets was installed, replacing the old hose pipe. I was present for the start of the job, but then left for the day. Raman texted me later about their progress and again when the job was completed. Everything was cleaned up after the work was done. I checked "N/A" above regarding price because I do not know what others would have charged. Raman had done work for me twice before and needed to get the leak repaired right away. I trusted him to give me a fair price.
Description of Work: Raman came to my property to determine the cause of a slow leak. There was a puddle in an underground box that housed the shut-offs for the house and the outside water. Leak was stopped by replacing pipes and connectors.
