Very positive experience. I'd hire them again. Plumber was very attentive to my concerns, explained that the issue was minor and described all the ways the issue could be addressed including doing nothing (i.e. I just pay service call fee, and be done). Price and scope/impact of options was presented up-front. Early in project my whole-house water valve broke (it was old) and needed to be replaced, which increased the scope of work. They finished all the work ahead of schedule: new washer box with arresters, strapped cold water pipes in two places near washer box, replaced whole-house water valve, inspected for leaks in laundry room and both upstairs bathrooms. Afterward, I needed drywall repairs - explained up-front and work they don't do - and was referred to drywall repair service.

I picked Allred's because they purchased the Stack plumbing business, who I had used a few years ago to fix a leak with my upstairs shower and had a great experience. The Allred's plumber was prompt, courteous, and professional. My only complaint is their costs. There is a required 70 dollar fee for showing up, which seemed reasonable. There was a flat fee of a few hundred dollars for cutting a small hole in the ceiling to access the area where the pipes were. There was another flat fee of a few hundred dollars for diagnosing the problem, and finally it was another flat fee of a few hundred dollars to pull the toilet, replace the failing wax seal, and reset the toilet. The plumber was very up front before each step what it would cost, but since I'd already taken time off work to be there I just went ahead and got the work done. The overall cost ended up being about double what I had been expecting (barring a major problem, which it turned out not to be). Took about 2 hours of labor altogether. They also wanted to sell a membership plan for $15 a month in order to get discounts on the flat fees and some lifetime work guarantees, which was unexpected. The work was well done, once they had shown up for the appointment they made the pricing clear (although if I'd known they were charging flat fees like that I probably would have not used them for a small job), but you definitely pay a premium for their services. I will probably not use them again for small jobs, since they were not nearly as accommodating as Stack plumbing was for a small job, but they did good work with high quality.

Used Angie's list to "request a quote". Received call back from the parent company that bought stack plumbing who informed me they don't provide quotes over the phone but would be happy to send someone out on my dime to give me a quote. When I asked what the hourly rate is, I was told they charge "By the project" but they couldn't provide me with an example price over the phone.

They were very professional and the job was done well within an hour. They showed up on time, and the plumber was very pleasant. I was just shocked at how expensive it was. The entire job took less than an hour, and it cost me $700 + tax. It was $69 for them to show up for the service call. Then $175 to remove the snake. That was all completed within 30 minutes, and that was reasonably priced, and he was able to do this without cutting into walls or ceilings, which I appreciated. I was surprised that it cost $453 to snake out the shower drain in addition to the costs listed above. They did quote it before doing the work during this visit, so I paid for the job which I approved. This only took 10 additional minutes, and only included snaking out the 1 drain. I had hoped that for that price, they could snake out additional drains if it went fast and smoothly, but was quoted another $453 to snake out my other shower drain. So I stopped at this point once my urgent needs were met, and did not have them work on other plumbing jobs I would like to address but could not afford to do at these rates. I am certainly willing to pay more for quality and efficient work, as it is worth it, but I was surprised at the costs associated with this job. I don't know how much it normally costs to do these repairs, and certainly it would have been much less expensive if I could have been charged an hourly rate, even if it was $200-300 an hour, and would have taken the same time. Since I don't know what is a fair price, I gave them a Good rating. If plumbers of similar quality are similarly expensive, then I would have given them an Excellent rating instead. If plumbers of similar quality are much less expensive, then I would have given them a Fair rating instead.

Todd (the owner) came out to bid the job. You could tell he cared about doing quality work, and making his customers happy. This is the feel I had throughout. It continued with the two guys that came out, Jordan and Matt. Jordan and Matt really care about their work and the people they are working for. They were both very consultative. They brought me in on all the important points, which is often not done by professionals. It's your home, not theirs. These two had a respect for that fact. They were both very personable and easy to work with. They also did a great job cleaning up after themselves - always putting down drops, wearing shoes covers and taking them off even if they had to go in and out of the house. Quality is the most important thing for me, and these guys deliver on that. They use high-quality materials, and best-in-class techniques.

Service operator was prompt and professional. Before the service appointment, I asked the back office if they could give a ballpark on costs, and they indicated they couldn't. When the service operator got here, he pulled out a bound book with set pricing per service. The prices were +/- 50% more than the two other quotes we received. I'm not complaining about the pricing, they can charge whatever they want. What I found annoying was paying $69 and taking time off work because they refused to disclose their set pricing beforehand.

To replace the pipes behind the shower wall and a small amount behind the sink wall their estimate was 4 times more than another quote we got for the same amount of work. We truly wanted to like him but my husband and I felt red flags towards the end when he tried to sell us moen hardware and told us our brand new Delta ones weren't going to last as long. We are not quite sure why but he questioned if we were getting a new tub when it was brand new. He tried to sell us on a loan when we told him we felt the price was too steep for us and then he advertised to us a $15.95 per month on for some kind of maintenance thing they provide. Not only that, they added tax to the $69 fee just to come out. Some people may not mind this but for us it was overwhelming. If felt like they were hungry for our money. We are very cautious people who don't like to be taken advantage of and this made us feel very wary of the company.

They quoted a price of $700+. I ended up using amazon home services that costed me $80 for the same job.

They were punctual and professional. The quality was excellent. Every change or addition was estimated at very high cost. I had to keep them going to get things done, but compared to other jobs we have done I think these guys charged us 2X because they knew we were in a spot.

Original call out was for a pilot light that went out frequently. After discussing the pros and cons of repairing a 10-year old water heater vs. replacement, I decided on replacement. Allred was able to immediately replace the water heater within a few hours.

Awesome. He was helpful and although he couldn’t take on the job at the time, he lead me in the right direction and referred me to another quality plumber. I’d go with Jim again over the others.

We hired Stack Plumbing to clear a clogged kitchen drain. We explained that our son had dropped a few thin, mini popsicle sticks down the drain and our problems started after that. Jim came out and snaked the drain. He said he didn't find any sticks and that the drain was full of sludge. Some of which he removed. It was just under a $300 charge for less than 30 minutes at the house. The drain seemed to be better after he left but started to get worse a few days later. We called back and Kevin from Stack said we needed to call Rescue or Roto Rooter and that the drain needed to be jettied. Rescue Rooter came out and the first thing he checked was the pipe under the sink. In it he found the popsicle sticks which had expanded and were the cause of the clog. The plumber was shocked that this wasn't the first area Stack Plumbing checked. We are very disappointed in the lack of expertise and appropriate workmanship on behalf of Stack and will not use them again, and certainly won't refer them.

After the fix, he mentioned that I should get a new toilet. I responded that I needed to get a new roof before any other expenses. He said that he could recommend a 'white' roofing company that would do a good job and clean up after themselves.

Kevin from Stack Plumbing arrived on time and went right to work. He did an excellent job while working in a very tight space. He was friendly and very professional.

The team was responsible, thorough and made good suggestions. So far we are very pleased with the work they did. I highly recommend.

Jim was punctual, knowledgeable and professional. After talking with him, we decided not to do the new work. We will definitely call him for future work.

I had no heat in my house during a very cold snap. Todd and his team were very responsive and thorough. After troubleshooting my Rinnai and replacing a pump, he determined that the flow meter and a significant amount scaling/build-up inside the machine had rendered it no longer operational for home heating. Todd prioritized my no-heat situation, quickly pulled together a quote for the replacement, and was able to complete the work the next day by scheduling me before less urgent work. The install team did a great job, very good craftsmanship, and I have heat again! I also had a broken in-wall heating fan replaced at the same time. Price was as expected for work done, no surprises. Would definitely recommend Allred's for your tankless water/home heating needs.

I called to request an estimate and was told over the phone it would probably cost $500-$1500. When I asked if I could get an on-site estimate, the man said something along the lines of "What, are you just trying to compare so you can maybe save a hundred bucks?". When I replied that I was primarily concerned with getting a more accurate estimate for my particular situation, I was told that an on-site estimate would cost $175. (I don't live far away either) I contacted another contractor and was immediately offered an on-site estimate for no charge. I feel that $175 for an estimate is ridiculous, and the person on the phone could have handled the conversation much more professionally.

Kevin and Aaron did an excellent job replacing the frost free hose bib. Kevin and Aaron are true professionals and did a great job plumbing in a new hose bib. They cleaned up after they finished the job. Finally, the cost was exactly what was quoted before the job began. Thanks Kevin and Aaron for a job well done!

They didn’t charge me another visit trip, they just kept it open. One time I had to work on my plumbing, and I couldn’t turn the water off. I had a bit of a problem. So, I told him to just do them all. So, they replaced them all and put in good parts, not cheap ones. They were really good, they did a really good job. It was a lot of work. They had a Journeyman plumber and an apprentice out here I would say for most of the day. That’s not cheap. I’m very pleased with them. I’m going to use Stack Plumbing again. Everything was great.

Todd did a great job! He came in with a competitive bid. From the start explained how he would do things and the reasons that he had for materials and his methods. Through out Todd and his employees were courteous and punctual. They took care to keep things cleaned up after everyday of work. Over the couple of days that were required they staggered the work so that we were never without a bathroom in the evenings. By the end we had all exactly what we had contracted for, at the quoted bid, and they got done a day earlier than originally expected.

Excellent. They completed 55ft of above-ground gas line and 25ft of buried line for 2 gas outlets in about 5 hours and the install was very high quality. Painting was left for me to complete. I dug and backfilled the trench (they were willing to do that work but would have charged extra for their time).

It went well. Kevin ad his apprentice arrived on time, did exactly what I needed, worked quickly. I'm happy.

Called to arrive a few days early, and I agreed. Kevin and his "Apprentice" Aaron arrived at 8:25am. Showed them the leaky toilet: simple fix of replacing the Flapper and the Ball ****. They also looked at my shower and said "Its from China, so we wont have the parts - cant do anything". OK. So I'll call somebody else later. 35 minutes later they had installed the Flapper and Ball **** and fixed the leaky toilet. They then billed me $285.70 !! For being there 35 minutes and installing as Universal Kit you can get at Fred Meyers for $20. They charge $155 for the first 30 minutes, and $42.50 every 15 minutes thereafter! Call it "Stack of Bills" Plumbing. They teach their apprentices to rob people "legally". Complained to Mr. Stack. He "KINDLY" offered to take $45 off - so its ONLY $245 for the 35 minute fix. I'll pay him - and from now on he gets my Free Advertising. Stay away from these crooks. How did they ever get and "A" rating?

The repair/replacement was completed as expected and I would definitely hire Stack Plumbing again, and recommend to others.
