Chimcare

Serviceman was very professional. He was hung up in traffic, but stayed in contact about his delays and updated his ETA. He was very thorough and expedient with his work. The clean-up during and after his work was excellent. He confirmed our fireplace insert and chimney lining are in excellent condition. We talked about how to create a good draft for the fire in times when the outside air pressure is higher, such as in the winter when a plug of cold air might stop up the chimney and fill the house with smoke. I will recommend Chimcare to others, and will hire them again in the future.

They arrived on time and checked both my chimneys. Everything went well.

This was my first experience with Chimcare. It was a routine cleaning and inspection. Daniel was very prompt and professional. He explained the process before he started and was finished in record time. He gave us sound advice about future improvements and was able to provide different options to consider. I will definitely be using Chimcare again for my yearly fireplace cleaning and maintenance.

The price I was quoted was really good, so I took it, but it took them nearly 3 weeks to complete my chimney. They contract out all their work and the closest contractor was in Bremerton. They took hours to get here and generally did not have the equipment to complete my job. They ended up renting scaffolding locally. My photos are dated to show progress. The work they did seems good quality, but I literally had to shine my headlights on the chimney for the guy who finally placed the cap in order to get them out of my yard, or it would have been another week until they placed it.

A technician finally came out after having to call multiple times. apparently, they had a specific scheduler just for Angies list customers and the main scheduler was not handling them. The technician was totally pleasant and professional but he came into the house and then said he didn't have the right equipment to inspect (I think he needed a ladder) which is totally legit. He left his card and said he would be coming back and that I didn't need to be home because he would be looking from the outside. I never heard from him or Chimcare again. I just left a message this morning after several months and I will see if they get back to me. I don't know how to get my original $250 back but I am going to look into it.

The work was done thoroughly and professionally

The sweep was here a bit earlier than expected, but ready to get to work! He talked to me about what he was going to do, went up on the roof, cleaned out the chimney fairly fast, and took photos of the problems he found. The chimney passed inspection although mold and a hole between the two flue pipes was found after I mentioned the smell of mold that we noticed in the fall. I assume that since he used a brush and a vacuum, the mold was taken care of enough to pass. He gave me a detailed quote along with photos to show what needed to be done in the future. The quote included building up the crown of the chimney and adding height to one of the flue pipes in order to fit a cap with a screen on it, pressure spraying the chimney from the outside, and sealing it. The quote was around $2200. Since we didn't realize we would need all of this extra work on our fireplace (that we have only used once in 8 years), it was a bit of a surprise to us. We appreciate the details, but will make sure to get a second opinion just in case. The cleaning cost was worth it with the Angie's List coupon we used.

The earliest schedule slot available was a month away, but that wasn't a problem for me. The technician arrived promptly, asked good questions and did an excellent job. He observed good practices, kept everything clean and completed the job in a timely manner.

Don't hire this firm. They scheduled my job several weeks out and required me to prepay only to receive a call two weeks out from the scheduled appointment to be told that they're running behind on their jobs (still two weeks away from mine) and they tell me they need to cancel my job and reschedule for a later date. They agreed to keep my original date only after I complained loudly. Then they showed up to work on my chimney but damaged an adjacent exhaust vent in the process and didn't bother telling me. I had to have it repaired by a different company. Then, they left plastic on my chimney telling me they'd be out the following week to remove it only to receive an email the week they were supposed to show saying they won't be coming out to finish the job and remove the plastic for another 5+ weeks. This company lacks the basics of customer service and is the farthest thing from the definition of dependable and accountable. Stay away from them!

The only negative was that they had to schedule the appointment two months out from my original call. They showed up on time. The guy who came out knew what he was talking about. He diagnosed our problem (getting too much smoke in the house from the fireplace) and gave us an effective and cost-effective solution.

They were easy to work with, was able to get on the schedule quickly, they showed up on time and did my inspection and cleaning quickly, and they weren't pushy about other services. I will use them again.

Tech informed us it was in good condition and no service was needed. We really appreciated their honesty!

The first time they came, they went to the wrong house and after ringing the bell a few times over a half hour, they left. My husband was at our house but the number they had was for me and I was at work. Thus, they couldn't get a hold of me and had to reschedule when I saw I missed their call and called them back. My home has my address clearly marked on the front. The second time they came all went well. They did do something to prevent leaking at the roof area that I didn't know would be necessary so that cost extra. I had to trust it was a needed procedure.

Purchased a $99 Angie's List special last week. Immediately emailed them to set up an appointment. A week later they sent me an email asking me to call them (still no response to my original email). I called and got their voicemail. Left a message. They called back later the same day saying they weren't scheduling until more than 2 months away. What is the point then? Terrible response time, worse communication, and much worse scheduling. I canceled. Obvious these guys are just farming angie'slist leads.

Far beyond my expectations. The service representative Andrew was right on time, sent me text when he was in route, He was polite, knowledgeable, very professional, and had an obvious passion for his work and customer service. He did the work in a timely manor and clearly explained the work he was going to perform and when finished he gave me a detailed and fair estimate of additional work I should have done in the future. No hard sell, just the facts with photos of my chimney and fireplace areas that need further attention. I would highly recommend Andrew and Chimcare,

Andrew Wilt provided the service. He was courteous, careful, and professional. He took the time to explain what he saw and what we should watch. He said that our installation, while old (over 30 years) was in good shape and working fine at this point, and he didn't try to sell us additional services. He told us what we should look for and suggested a few changes to how we used the fireplace. We were very pleased with the service.

Made appointment for 6weeks out. Two weeks before they called and tried to push me another three weeks into the middle of December. I could have scheduled another company by now. They wasted my time during the busy season. Now I’m unable to use my fireplace until January.

Excellent. Ryan did a great job, explained what was done and why, cleaned up and left a very happy customer. This was a groupon for $99 and the additional $44 for the replacing of the flashing sealant.

Removed concrete cap. Replaced. New flashing.
