We had Curtis remodel our upstairs bathroom after he did such a good job installing a brand new bathroom for us downstairs. Curtis and his friendly crew tiled our upstairs bathroom floor and tub surround. I also had a soaking tub put in which is great. Curtis went above and beyond by doing the electrical for the bathroom at no additional cost. I had one switch for light and fan, but Curtis installed a second switch for just the fan in the bathroom so the fan and light don't turn on simultaneously. He also did sheet rock repairs and painted the bathroom beautifully. The tiles were lined up perfectly, same as the downstairs bathroom. Also, we originally had a big window near the tub which had caused some rot that a previous contractor never alerted us to. Curtis informed us immediately and replaced the rotted wood. He placed a smaller window near the ceiling just for ventilation. The double-paned window turned out beautifully. He did a good job lining up the trim with what was previously there. Curtis worked very timely and was always responsive. He is a good person to work with. He replaced a kitchen cabinet for me that had come loose from it's hinges. I would definitely recommend Curtis for any construction work, he is very high quality.
Description of Work: Remodeled bathroom and installed a double-pane window in living room.

They are highly skilled professionals, very honest and do a great job. They leave the job site clean and tidy. They are very reasonable with their bids and will work for time and expenses. Highly recommended! A+A+A+
Description of Work: They demolished and hauled away a large old concrete driveway and concrete patio and replaced them with a new brick driveway and patio. Another job that they did was patching a gypsum wall board, taping, finishing and painting. They installed a door frame and door.

Curtis and his son Jake are awesome. Just super honest guys. Show up on time, flexible with ideas and they keep you from doing anything stupid. When you have a crazy idea which we often do, they actually improve upon it. They love odd creative things that challenge them, They have done 3 jobs for us over the past 5 years and will be doing our next. This last job was the easiest and smallest. Prior jobs included a complete finish of our 1932 basement, including bathroom, Wiring, drywall, plumbing with crooked walls and furnace ducts to work around (and move). We could not have been happier with the end product every time. They did a great great job. They will quote you time and materials or by the job. First job I got most of the materials and they put them in, After that they just did it all. Highly recommend them for any job. Oh ya, they are not afraid to say no, we can't do that. So they never get in over their heads. I wanted them to cut a hole in part of our foundation to make a door bigger, they advised against that and they were right to do so.
Description of Work: Remodel Laundry room, install sink, move plumbing, dryer vent, installed a huge gate on our fence.

C.W. Wolff Construction / owner Curtis Wolff has performed/completed multiple jobs at our residence. Curtis is very professional, prompt and honest. (these attributes are difficult to find in this field) Curtis always shows up when he says he will and keeps you informed on the progress of the job. We are always wanting work to be accomplished quickly in a set timeframe and C.W. Wolff has delivered each and every time providing high quality work at a fair price. Curtis is easy to reach, returns calls/emails promptly. I trust Curtis and his employees to be on my property without being home. I highly recommend C.W.Wolff Construction for any job you need completed big or small. Also, Curtis will be honest with you if he doesn't feel the job matches his specialties he will find a professional who will stand by their work for you.
Description of Work: The most recent cost of service above was to form and pour and finish large exposed aggregate concrete patio with ramp. Another occasion jacked up a corner of our home underneath the crawlspace that had sunken to level up with the rest of the home. Built a 12x10 shed. Finished a rooftop patio and installed cedar siding and shingles.

My crawl space opening is in a very small closet in my guest room, not the most convenient place - especially considering all the debris and old insulation that had to remove and bring up through the house. They took great care to keep the house clean, removed doors (reinstalled them when the job was done), laid down heavy plastic and cardboard to protect the floors and carpet, hung drop cloths to create a contained passage way from the guest room to the back door to prevent the dust from going into the rest of the house.
Description of Work: Removed debris and old insulation from the crawl space, replaced the vapor barrier, sealed off any openings that would allow unwanted rodents, installed all new insulation and replaced rotten and improperly installed support posts.

Overall it went very well, Curtis contacted me regularly to keep me informed of the progress. They stayed on schedule, cleaned up each night. When the job was finished they promptly removed the huge pile of rubble and hauled it away. They thoroughly cleaned the yard and bushes of any debris. I have received many compliments on how much nicer the house looks and feel much better that my investment has been protected from one of the biggest menis with have here in the Pacific Northwest (WATER).
Description of Work: Initially I thought it was just one small portion of a rotten facia, however after meeting with Curtis and inspecting the rest of the house together we discovered that almost all the facia was in severely bad shape. I had a new roof put on by another company a few years prior and had a built in gutter system from the 1960's, unfortunately that company did not inform me of the deterioration and attached the new built in gutter system to the old rotten facia. Given the amount of rot Curtis reviewed my options with me, one was a more affordable "band-aid" solution which we both knew would only be temporary so we determined the best course of action was to "do it right the first time" and remove the old built in gutter system, inspect the joists to make sure there was not any unseen water damage, replace all the soffit, facia, extend the roofing to the new facia and install a new seamless gutter system.

The project was very timely and went well. Curtis was very punctual and responsive from the start. He was professional and brought his whole team out to do a bid on our project. I got to meet the plumber and electrician before the project commenced. He paid close attention to details, informing me of all the decisions along the way. We were particularly impressed with the attention he paid to lining up the tiles in the shower/bathroom as well as matching our existing paneling design with the outside of the closet/bathroom. He was a pleasure to work with and I would recommend him and use him again in the future.
Description of Work: Curtis installed a bathroom and closet in our basement from scratch. The room was a converted garage, finished, but just a big room. Curtis and his team put up drywall and installed a shower, sink, and toilet with sliding doors. He also completed the other side of the bathroom with a walk in closet and hung up a closet organizer system inside.

It could not have gone any better in any remodel things come up it is how you handle the unexpected that makes Curtis worthy of the A rating. My job site is 90 miles from their office and they were on time and on budget. My home was built by a general contractor for his own use and the quality of the work is superior. I can recommend them without any hesitation. No profanity, no smoking just hard work by craftsmen that care about quality.
Description of Work: This is the second job CW Wolff has done for me the first was finishing a craft room and adding a bath to the space consisting of plumbing, electrical, insulation, sheet rock, texture and engineered flooring second job was a complete kitchen remodel including cabinets, engineered flooring, moving of plumbing and electrical

I could not be happier! The attention to detail was beyond expectations. the bookcases look like they belong in multi-million dollar home. Jake and Curtis not only did great work, but kept me well informed informed, gave me options to consider and reassured me throughout the project. They cleaned up every evening and were on time every day. I would and hopefully will use them for future projects. Honesty and craftsmanship go a long way and they have both!

We had an excellent experience with Curtis and Jake from CW Wolff. They were extremely professional, easy to work with and completed high quality work at a great price. They weren't the cheapest bid we received, but I believe they are definitely the best value. They arrived promptly and were very conscientious about impacts to our lives. We appreciated that they always protected the finished portions of the house and did a great job cleaning up at the end of the day. They matched the finishes and quality of the other finished portions of the house extremely well. We are very pleased with the detail they put into the stair railing. We did have a few hiccups with communication about materials or the schedule for upcoming work that led to minor delays. However, Curtis was always made sure the right work got done and and got done right. I just recommend being proactive and communicating often. We have been living with our remodel for 4 months now and couldn't be happier. I heartily recommend CW Wolff construction for any interior remodel project. They will be our first call when we are ready for the next project.
Description of Work: We completed a significant partial interior remodel Created a new office, master bedroom and walk in closet from existing bedrooms. This included everything form demolition to finish, including framing, moving an exterior window, drywall, doors, paint, trim, lighting and carpet and skylight. Remodeled a second bathroom, including new cabinetry, counter, fixtures, flooring and skylight. A new front entry door (different size, required framing) Drywall repair and painting through a number of rooms A significant amount of trim (doors, windows, baseboard, stair rail)

I called 5 different contractors and got bids from each of them. CW Wolf construction gave us the most competitive bid. The job included removing rotted sill plate and floor joist and replacing rotted sections with pressure treated lumber; and then replacing siding. I requested that Curtis (the owner) take photos of the job since I was present to see the work being done. I wanted to be able to see exactly what was replaced since much of the work would be covered by siding. The work was completed to my satisfaction and Curtis sent me photos that documented the job. Curtis was prompt, professional and skilled. I would definitely hire CW Construction again.
Description of Work: We recently bought a house that had dirt up against the siding. When I removed the dirt, I noticed some rot on the outside wall of our house. I removed some siding and realized that about 6' of sill plate and floor joist were rotted. I hired CW Wolff Construction to replace the rotted wood and re-side the effected corner of the house.

We talked to a number of contractors, and basically, we went with Curt because he struck us as a good, trustworthy guy. His bid wasn't the highest or lowest, but we're not in construction, so feeling like we could trust our contractor was seriously important. Curt also told us up front that he would delay our start date if he had another project that was taking longer than expected to finish. I was okay with that, since that meant he'd also finish our project before starting something new, too. Curt asked us a number of good questions to help us refine what we wanted, and also had a number of good suggestions, all of which improved the final outcome. We were working hard to balance quality and cost, and Curt had ideas that looked great but kept us on budget. When we talked about areas that he didn't have direct experience with -- for instance, we were interested in a newly released deck coating -- he didn't pretend to be an expert, and he's ready to call in the help of other experts when necessary (like for our new gutters). But they did a serious amount of work. The new roof over our back entry door is *large*. When they found rot under the old siding around the kitchen and bathroom, they rebuilt the framing under it. (Curt also held off on doing that until he could show it to me in person. There were a few other surprise problems where he made sure I could see it myself -- like I said, I really trust the guy.) Best of all, the actual work Curt & his son Jake did is excellent. Some of the lines of the windows and walls of our 1952 house weren't square to start with, so they did everything they could to make the new work look right. The construction is solid (the first thing my father-in-law did was to pull at the supports under the back entry roof as hard as he could, and they didn't budge). As someone who's hung drywall, the work Jake did was fantastic. Everything looks great. Oh, and they were unfailingly nice, too. I'm looking forward to being able to hire them again!
Description of Work: We were looking to make a number of general upgrades to our kitchen and exterior. We went with new fiberboard siding, a brick patio out back, a new roof off the back door, new exterior doors and a number of new windows outside; a dishwasher and new cabinets inside.

An extremely good experience. They were the lowest bidder and kept to price; willing to find lower-cost solutions to keep within budget; made a few agreed-upon change orders at reasonable price. Readily re-did any parts of the job where there had been misunderstanding of what was to be done, such as replacing doors that were not stained correctly. High sense of professionalism and "getting it right." A pleasure to have the crew around - small family business - father and son with warm relationship. Were meticulous about masking off areas to prevent plaster dust from spreading, and about cleaning up after each day's work. I have had a number such contracts over the last 30 years, and this was my best experience. Happy to recommend to any and all.

We had a tight budget and not a lot of time until we needed to move in. Curtis and Jake were great to work with. They were flexible and sensitive to our design and budget, sometimes suggesting improvements to our ideas that lead to some great results. They showed a high level of craftsmanship and thoughtfulness towards the job that we appreciated. And they made sure to get us in before our deadline. I highly recommend them.
Description of Work: We had an extensive remodel on the 1925 home we purchased this summer, which included completely gutting and re-doing the kitchen and bath from the studs out, as well as putting in a half wall between the kitchen and dining room and a hallway from the kitchen to a bedroom that we wanted to use as a kids playroom. There was also substantial damage to some of the plaster walls and ceilings that needed to be repaired, and in some cases, replaced.

Curtis Wolff worked with us on deciding exactly what we wanted. He had us work with a design person to give us a visual of the final remodel. Curtis and his crew showed up on time everyday. They were friendly and hard working. They let us do some of the demolition to cut down the cost, and we did the painting. Curtis set us to one place for cabinets, and another for lighting. We loved being able to look at lots of variety before our final selection. My husband even had them change the location of one of the lights at the last minute with no problems.
Description of Work: They installed a new garden window, new kitchen cabinets, new flooring in the kitchen and dining room, and sheetrock where it was needed. They also put in a new stove, and microwave above the stove. A beam between the kitchen and dining room was eliminated.

Contractor provided a general quote/cost projection up front. He stuck close to original estimate, but next time I would request ongoing updates of budget versus actual costs to ensure both parties are on the same page. High quality work is provided and multiple jobs are not done at the same time. Work crew is professional and effecient and respectful of cleaning up their work site every day. Contractor takes personal ownership of ensuring the job is done right and will correct mistakes if necessary. We would use this contractor again and have recommended to several folks who have used him.

Overall went great. I would recommend them to others. I still have a few more projects to have them finish including a 2nd bathroom remodel. My story goes like this: I had a bathroom that I thought I might be able to update myself. I purchased all the tile, faucets etc. I started pulling walls out and getting stuff ready to replace when all of a sudden I found out the people who replaced the shower wall before decided to put wood putty in the dry rot instead of replacing it. Needless to say this wasn't what I was counting on, so I basically quit working on it for a couple weeks since time was not on my side. I got frustrated that I didn't have time to get this done so while my husband was out of town I hired Wolff construction to come in and fix it for me. This happen to be the week it was the hottest day in Seattle. They tried to get the work done for me, but the heat wouldn't allow some of the adhesives to stick. I told them I didn't need them to collapse on me so they rescheduled for a couple days later. They finished my bathroom up and I was so impressed that I asked them to start updating my kitchen next. One thing led to another and after a month or so of misc work, I had to let them go work on someone Else's house. Good people to work with. I suggest you to see for yourself too!
Description of Work: Fixed dry rot in bathroom walls and replaced tub surround wall and dry wall in outer shower area. Updating kitchen including replace counter top, sink, faucet and garbage disposal. Other items are general wall patching, molding around attic steps and other small finish work.

Remodel #1: repair and partial remodel of 2 bathrooms + reroof. Job included tearing out and adding new fixtures (including tub and tub wall), drywall, trim, etc... We took his advise and removed the old tub...good call. The bathrooms came out looking new. The roofing also went very well; they actually had to lay the plywood in addition to roofing because there wasn't any (v old house). We took his advise again to remove the top of an old furnace chimney that wasn't being used. They provided warranty on their work. Remodel #2: Add 2nd bedroom on lower level (framing, electrical, sheetrocking) + remodel existing bedroom (framing, sheetrock). Excellent work, done on time (also completed some partially done sheetrock from a replumbing job for us), and added real value to the house.
Description of Work: We've worked with Wolff construction several times over about 10 years. They were a referral from a colleague at work. You always hear bad stories about consumers hiring contractors that don't get the work done, don't do quality work, aren't on time or never finish projects, etc.... We NEVER experienced any of that with Curtis' team. They start and finish when they say they are going to. Are reasonably priced and don't mark up construction materials (they will provide you with a reciept for all the goods used &/or you can go buy your own). They've done remodeling projects for us (adding bedroom, remodeling bedroom, bathroom) for us + a roofing project and all were done extremely well and on time. Curtis also provided his expertise when we purchased a new home in terms of remodeling potential (he toured the house with us before buying it - and didn't even charge us). I also referred him to our realtor; who obviously has very high standards, for a kitchen remodel. She and her husband raved about their work. So I have no qualms referring Wolff Construction again. When we're ready to do our own kitchen remodel, they will be the first one's I call.

I did not update my kitchen for a long time, simply because I dreaded the intrusion, noise and mess. Curtis Wolff and his son Jake did such a great job at minimizing the negative aspects of a remodel, and maximizing the reward. They paid attention to detail and were so easy to work with. They showed up on time with great attitudes. They are a really nice father/son team who listened to my requests and made my kitchen vision a reality. I am thrilled with the results.
Description of Work: Kitchen remodel included new cabinet doors with glass & paint, alteration of cabinet to accommodate larger fridge, new vinyl flooring, removal of backsplash & installation of subway tile behind counter, sink, stove & fridge, updated plumbing, new faucet, dishwasher and ice maker installation, new outlets, cabinet lights & hardware. All demolition, removal of debris, and sheetrock repair. New countertop & sink installation were sub-contracted (not included in price noted above) but managed by Curt Wolff.

Wanted: a trustworthy contractor for single female first time homeowner. Discovery: this was going to be no easy task. After interviewing and obtaining quotes from several contractors it was obvious from the get-go that Curtis and his son Jake were the only real option. I spoke with Curtis and outlined what I hoped could be done for the budget I had. He explained that if I was willing to do some of the labor (removing the carpet from the entire house, pulling tacks, stripping the floor down to wood, taking the wall out to stud, etc.) that not only would I save on labor costs, I might save enough to allow me to do some work in the kitchen and bath which were not in my plans. That’s exactly what happened. I gave him the house keys and he gave me a list of homework. Project Day 1: hand over the house keys and head off to work. I have to admit, this was the most nerve-wracking aspect of the job but as I would come to find, the energy put into worrying was waste. The first project to be tackled was the living room wall removal and header installation. After the kitchen/living room had been opened up, Jake went to work on replacing and patching several other sections of drywall that had been shoddily done before- when he was finished you couldn't tell were the new and the old met. Next, Curtis tackled the homes old electrical. He re-wired and installed new outlets throughout the house because each and every room only had one and they were never conveniently located. He asked about television placement so he could install an outlet that would allow me to hide the cord. It was a simple and obvious question but one I had not taken that into consideration. Curtis then went to work on the installation of the recessed lighting in the living room- I had not planned on this but after spending a few nights at the house working by lamps it became obvious that something had to be done- he had no problem with this project add-on and it was done right away. The final and most impactful project was the installation of the bamboo flooring throughout the entire house. It was completed over two days and looks spectacular. Jake followed that up by caulking all the baseboard trim throughout the house- it looks fantastic. It’s those types of little touches that I think separate Curtis’ team from other contractors. Most days I did not see Curtis or his team having left for work before they arrived and arriving home after they had left. Not once did I return to an environment that felt unsafe. The house was always locked and the tools had all been put away. I was clear with Curtis from the start with what I could afford and he did everything possible to make sure we stayed within budget- This is to his credit as the other contractors I spoke with were not willing to make such concessions because it impacted their bottom line. I have many projects on my future to do list and I will not hesitate to use Curtis on all of them.
